When driving off after starting the vehicle, the car starts jerking and knocking and stalls/turns off. This happens almost everyday as I reverse out of my drive way and drive forward. Extremely unsafe! does not show check engine light or any other lights.

Car engine stopped working while in moving down the road. The car would not accelerate above 10 miles per hour. Check engine light came on without warning as the car stopped functioning. Passenger air bag was disengaged and indicated it would not deploy even though a passenger was sitting in the seat. Severe injury could have occurred if the car had been rear ended when the car stopped working. Car had been in for maintenance at all predesignated manufacturer's suggested mileage points without indication of any issues.

My car after starting (with engine either cool or warm) will stall at times when I'm going2-3 mph. I have stalled at intersections. I go to put my foot on the gas and the car will sputter and stall. It will then restart with a little difficulty though starts back up. There are no icons that illuminate on the dashboard with any problem. There are no check engine lights or battery lights that are going off.
Check engine light cuts on with overheating and eps error when starting car sometimes. When you shut off car it cuts off and returns to normal. It started last year and has continued, I was told it may be a sensor shortage.

Engine shuts off when car is in drive or reverse while vehicle is in motion and displays message of "start/stop system deactivated. Please restart engine manually. The yellow check engine light then appears. And the vehicle rolls away unless brakes are applied. This happened multiple times - 10 times in my car, 3 in my first loaner car and 6 in my second loaner car. The vehicle is usually in motion right after the engine is started and the car is driven for about 500 feet, after the car is going 3-5 mph the engine shuts off and the car will roll away. On other occasions when the car is stopped in traffic the engine shuts off and will roll away. Each time you must put the vehicle in park and restart the engine. On another occasion a pre sense malfunction occurred where the car slammed on its brakes in traffic and almost caused a rear end collision. The dealerships have no answers for the first part, but claim a bug on the sensors caused the car to slam on its brakes.
I was at the tail end of a 400 mile trip-all freeway driving. After exiting the freeway, the car was slowly losing power. The glow plug light came on. Car stalled after 1/2 mile. I tried to restart it. It would not start. The glow plug and check engine light were on. Towed to dealership to find the high pressure fuel pump send metal into my fuel system and engine. I have just over 50,000 miles on the car. The repair is covered due to the faulty part. Audi should have to take the car back because they knew about this problem. Instead of doing a recall, they allowed the car to be driven and now my engine is affected. I tried to arrange a trade-in at a local Subaru dealership and they offered me low blue book minus $10,000. My car is not only undesirable, but worthless.

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Audi A3. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle started to make an jerking motion. The contact shut the engine off, but was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was unable to be diagnosed. Then the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic which stated that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. Mf.

Purchased car in 2010 with around 10,000 miles on it. A few months after purchasing, check engine light would illuminate, vehicle would have a noticeable decrease in power and not accelerate over about 40mph. Sometimes after shutting car off and restarting problem would go away, other times it would not. Vehicle taken to Audi dealership car purchased from for repair and initially reported as sensor problem and repaired. Couple weeks after repair car would have same problem, so taken back to dealership and again repaired sensor(s). Within about the first year after purchasing, issue happened multiple (+/-5) times after dealership repaired what they thought was the problem at the particular time. After about 5/6 times of this happening dealership took a more in depth attempt at figuring out what problem really was, telling me they were working directly with Audi & their mechanics to find and fix the actual defect. Car was in shop for around 3 months for this repair, which they determined was electrical and decided to rewire the entire car. In the meantime, I moved out of state to start graduate school. I finally got it back a few months later after having to pay to ship it to me and for a rental while waiting. Within a few months, car once again had same exact problem. Took to new local dealership who also diagnosed issue as sensor(s) & repaired them. Continued to have same problem every few weeks, would take into dealer for repair, get it back, have problem, take to dealership, etc. Dealership would not address car overall being defective, they'd avoid contact, not return calls, hangup etc. Car eventually traded in for new make when warranty expired.

1. Normal driving. 2. The camshaft follower on my high pressure fuel pump in my 2006 Audi A3 was punched clean through and the plunger on my fuel pump was eating away at my camshaft. . . I subsequently received no check engine lights, but had fuel cuts and boost cuts in medium to high rpms. 3. I had to buy a new camshaft, camshaft follower, and high pressure fuel pump. Vw/Audi refused to help me because I am at 60,000 miles, even though my manual says the part should be check, and maybe replaced starting at 100,000 miles. . . They said that my aftermarket intake might have caused the damage by "over spinning the engine". . . This is impossible, as the engine has a rev limiter, and I never have gone over 4k rpm yet, plus my "aftermarket intake" is nothing more than the stock intake, but wrapped in carbon fiber, with a k&n filter replacing the factory one.
