Hello, I dropped my car off at Audi and dominion in san antonio texas on Thursday July 10th for a repair this was a recall for the fuel pump system in something in the mechatronic controls. They had my car until Saturday I was informed that the repairs were done under warranty. Then on Saturday July 19th as I began to drive the vehicle a alert for my transmission malfunction appeared on my dashboard and I lost first gear. I had my car taken to Audi on dominion where I was informed by several service staff that this is a common malfunction after the last software update that was done the week prior and that it could take up to 48 hours to do the repair and recall warranty work on my vehicle. Audi on dominion has had my vehicle for 5 days and has not given me an answer as to know whether or not the repairs will be approved as this is covered under my extended warranty. My car was working perfectly fine until I was forced to take it in for this recall of which Audi has failed to provide a loaner vehicle or give accurate information as to whether or not the repairs will be covered. I have been informed that I will be responsible for the cost of the repairs. These repairs are only brought upon due to Audis forcing me to bring the car in for the recall repair as it would have voided out the rest of my vehicles warranty. As of today I am still without a vehicle and without an answer from Audi. I have tried reaching out to Audi of America without any response.

I was driving on the freeway at 60 mph when I received a warning code of a transmission problem. The code said the car was driveable but I should take it in for service. About 1-2 minutes after that the car lost all power. Unfortunately I broke down in the left lane in a construction zone without a shoulder. The state patrol had to temporarily shut down all three lanes of the highway to push me out of the traffic lane I was blocking. That was unsafe for me and for the state patrol and for the tow truck driver. The car was up to date on all recommended service, had been acting normally until the moment it failed, had not given me any warnings and is only 6 years old. I had the car towed to the dealer and the dealer reported that the mechatronic unit (transmission computer) failed. Replacing the mechatronic took a week and cost $5000.

The independent mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle gear shift failed to shift from park when the vehicle was started and advised the contact the vehicle needed to be towed to the dealer. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it has not been diagnosed yet. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,500.

My 2023 Audi A3 with less than 3,000 miles completely stopped in the middle of a highway in saugerties, new york. 4 hours away from home. I had my dog and my little sister with me and in the freezing pouring rain we had to get out and redirect traffic/ try to find help. I called roadside assistance. They never came on Sunday may 28th and didn't call back till 10pm to say they couldn't get to us because of the 8 inch snow storm. We had no heat because the car would not turn back on. 5 ubers/ 3 lyfts and all taxis didn't come. Finally 1 uber came and took us to a nearby camp site where they allowed pitbull dogs. The next day, I had to call over 60 times to get someone to just tow my car to Audi albany. Audi albany would not drive me a loaner car because it was an hour away. With a lot of arguing Audi roadside/tow services finally allowed me to drive with the tow truck driver to Audi albany. They gave me a loaner but said I had to book another hotel night because I was not allowed to drive the loaner back to my home yet. I was stuck in saugerties NY for 2 nights 3 days. We both got sick from Sunday waiting for roadside assistance for over 5 hours.

At 100,000 miles my engine lost all compression in cylinder 4 causing the vehicle to suffer a serious lack of power and become a danger to drive. Upon further research I have found that this is not uncommon for the Audi/vw 2. 0 liter tfsi (direct injected) engines. It appears that injector issues lead to either lean or rich running conditions that essentially melt the pistons and/or rings. I did have to have the engine replaced as there was no way to reliably verify whether the engine could be re-built so another engine was sourced from a salvage yard. The entire cost for the job was roughly $9,000. Again, this appears to be more common than a person should expect for an engine with such low mileage.

Consumer bought this car at 30,040 miles. The car currently sits with 89,000 miles. I have had 18 recommended service visits totaling $19,240 and then on July 15, 2022 with no pre indicators or warnings the engine dies after a 95k full multipoint inspection that consumer had 3 weeks prior. The car has an impeccable maintenace record. I did everything the dealer told me; and I still almost died on the 101 fwy going 70 mph on a conference call; the flashers didnt even work; the car dead and came to a hard halt and trucks were screeching around me with smoke coming from their tires because of the extreme hard stop and slamming on breaks, I was screaming for my life praying no one would slam into me. Metro who roams the fwy saved my life; without him I would be dead because of Audi's horribly manufatctured vehicle. It seems as though the dealer purposefully sabotages my car as a woman; I have no alternative but to fix it and now they want $27,000 more for a new engine and starter. So, in total; to drive 57,000 miles I've paid $37,000 cash for the car (I own the title)/ plus $19,240 in maintenance /repairs and now they want another 27,000 for the engine. Coolant leak from faulty water pump. This is a known issue from numerous models of Audis and has been the subject of recalls and extended warranty campaigns - but not on this particular model. I was forced to pay for the replacement of this known faulty part out of pocket.

This is the second failed (1/1/2022) camshaft position sensor on separate cylinder (#4), p/n 06e-103-697-ae. First one failed 3/05/2021. There are 8 of these adjusters on the particular engine. I have asked the dealer to retain the part. Safety is related to engine operation. . . Malfunction indicator light is lit and vehicle/engine fails emissions inspection. Problem has been confirmed by dealer, Audi silver spring, MD. Vehicle is being repaired by Audi dealer at my cost. Second time $500. I have filed multiple complaints with you all regarding my concern for safety and anxiety each time I get behind the wheel of my car. I contacted Audi, national, local dealer and no help with national safety recall. My car has been presenting random electrical concerns. It has shown numerous check engine lights telling me to shut engine down immediately, my ac will shut off, my speed declines at times and becomes almost as if I’m losing control of the car. It has done this at a stop and also on the highway going 75. I have had to pullover many times. I am so scared something is going to happen. I took to Audi after calling numerous times about recall and how the electrical has got to be a part of this national recall and they stated “ yes, that’s cannot be ruled out “ but they would not fix under recall more could they fix anything with the national recall they’ve had for years! they have stopped making all a 3’s and pulled them all off the lots! this is huge and tells me it is very serious and something has to be done!!! I recently got my car back from a collision center from driving to see a patient going 75 in the fast lane when we feel the car shaking out of control, I’ve lost control of the vehicle and we are in the far left lane with nowhere to go but into a 18wheeler! we had nowhere safe to go! it happened so fast that I’m screaming snd praying god please take the wheel!! my tire tread completely separated from my right rear side and caused about 6feet of tread whipping the car underneath and along the passenger side doors, windows etc… it was horrific and I’m terrified to drive!! my daughter was in the passenger seat and the air bag was not working when we were able to come to a stop on the shoulder! we had to be towed and tread was everywhere! I didn’t know at that time what happened! I thought it was a blowout, it was the tread came completely off the rubber! we almost flipped! my fear!!! we could’ve died - I cannot wait for next time!!.

I had purchased the car back in August 17th 2021 my power steering my brakes my airbag light and the fuel system fuel leak started happening all at once water was draining out of the middle of the engine . The engine low oil light keeps coming on, the oil has been changed already, I’ve had the car for more than 7 months I haven’t even driven it over 5000 miles yet. Audi needs to fix this. The power train is also the same, some days it works okay and some days it doesn’t. The cars struggles sometimes to even reach speeds up to 50 mph. I’ve taken this vehicle to the Audi dealship as well as to a foreign certified mechanic shop. They can’t figure out the problem. The engine light should not be coming on randomly when I have fully serviced the vehicle. Audi please fix these problems.

I will be driving and stop at a stop sign and when I go let my foot off the break to start driving again my car then spazzes and says please shift car into park and I am unable to dive my car and I have to restart it a few times to be able to drive again. It is ver scary because every time it happens I am in the middle of traffic and I can't move. It's always happened when I am at a light or a stop sign. It has happened a total of 10 times since I have had my car and when I brought it to Audi they told me there's nothing wrong with my car.

Twice I have experienced the random loss of power. The first time occurred on a local street, driving approximately 40 mph, and all of a sudden the vehicle stuttered and lost power. It appeared as if the vehicle was slowing down, not even coasting but slowing down considerably. I was required to pull onto a side road. I restarted the car and the issue disappeared. The second time occurred on the highway driving in the left lane at approximately 70 mph. Same issue, car stuttered and then loss power. The car's speed slowed considerable fast, from 70 to 30 in apprximately 5-7 seconds. With the inability to accelerate on a three lane highway, it was difficult to make my way to the shoulder on the right side of the road. After the stutter, you can press the gas pedal and not acceleration is experienced. I did not notice any warning lights on the instrument panel. Brought the vehicle to Audi to address this issue, and their response was "we don't see any fault codes, therefore we have no record of it happening", and sent me off with a "good luck" vehicle had apprximately 12,000 miles and 15,000 miles when issues occurred. I bought a cpo 2016 A3 1. 8t from Audi of palo alto on may 20, 2017 with a little under 19100 miles. Great fast car. Until June 17, 2017 when it had 19878 miles. The car started to stutter/sputter/jerk while on the fwy. I was going about 50-60mph on the fwy, cruising, and then it stuttered. It lost the power to accelerate to keep up the fwy pace and it slowed down considerably so I pulled over. I had it towed to the nearest dealer (Audi of concord). It was there from 6/17 to 6/29. Dealer said it had a faulty turbo, stating the wastegate failed, so they replaced the entire turbo. I got the car back with about 20072 miles, so apparently they did some road tests. Yesterday, July 3, 2017, while picking up some gifts for my daughter's birthday, the issue came back again. This time, my wife and 2 small children were in the car. We were cruising around 60-65 mph. It was scarier as I had to think for their safety first and foremost. Imagine a car that suddenly lost acceleration power on the freeway at around 6:30pm. We easily could have gotten rear-ended. Anyway, I researched on Audi's reliability and did read on some comments about how lousy they are. I gambled and decided to buy one anyway. Boy did I lose big. At this point, I'd rather have a kia or chevy.

Driving 50-60 mph on the fwy when all of a sudden the car started to jerk/stutter and then it lost speed. The jerking is similar to a new driver learning how to drive a manual transmission where you're thrown fwd and back somewhat violently. As I tried to accelerate back to fwy speed, it wouldn't accelerate. It kept slowing down instead. No cel illuminated. I decided to exit and pulled into a parking lot.

I purchased this vehicle for my 18 year old daughter as a parent you want to have you child as safe as possible. The vehicle is anything but safe. As a matter of fact it's an accident waiting to happen. Or worst a fatality. The vehicle while driving just turns off. It wasn't even a month into owning the brand new vehicle that issues started to arise. While reversing out of a parking spot, the vehicle stopped without any warning. About 4 weeks later, while entering the expressway,once again the vehicle without warning completely turn off. By a miracle of god my daughter did not get into an accident. A very dangerous situation as many other vehicles are driving at high speeds. On 3/31/17 the vehicle was take to the collection,where they could not tell me exactly what the problem was since they themselves had no clue. But they did tell me that there was definitely a problem since when they connected the vehicle to the computer it gave sporadic error codes. I was told that Audi corporate office was contacted and they advised the collection to inspect the fuel system and hose, electrical wiring, and vehicle program all of which I was told was done. On 4/27/17 another incident occurred. While at a traffic light, making a left hand turn, the vehicle stopped. The vehicle behind my daughter was also turning right behind her and almost rear ended her since even the brake lights were not working t. In the middle of the traffic intersection, the vehicle was not responding to the shifting of gears or to the accelerator. At this point that vehicle was not responding at all leaving my daughter stranded in the middle of oncoming cars and agitated drivers around her. The collection had the vehicle towed back to their shop where it has been ever since. No one, not even Audi's corporate head engineer has been able to figure out what is wrong with the vehicle.
