9 Body problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 02/08/2019

I purchased from a dealership with warranty and with in the week the car needed a quart of oil, I come to find out the car has been to Audi dealership and it was advised the vacuum pump needs to be replaced and that the engine is consuming oil, the dealership that sold this car in auction to the dealership I bought the car from was fully aware of this issue since Audi diagnosed it for them and no work had been done. Audi had a call back for this issue and had refused to address the issue when the dealership brought it to their attention and now I am stuck with a car loan on a car that need over $6k in repairs to the engine it self.

10 Body problem of the 2015 Audi A4

Failure Date: 07/13/2018

Takata recall or NHTSA campaign id 14v66700 I was in an accident July 13 2018. My car's airbags did not deploy, 3 other cars involved in the accident airbags did deploy. Fireman at the scene told me "there is a recall on your car, did you know?" my market valuation report as my car was totaled, states there is a recall on this car. It states due to an improper algorithm in the airbag control module, if a crash necessitates deployment of the side airbags, a second impact to the front of the vehicle may not command the front air bags to also deploy and as a consequence further states, if the front air bags do not deploy in the event of a secondary impact to the front of the vehicle, there is an increased risk of occupant injury. Traffic was stopped on the highway and you could clearly see brake lights and the slowing of traffic for quite a distance. I travel this area regularly and am aware of the construction that causes traffice to slow. The truck ahead of me stopped, I was at a complete stop, the car behind me stopped then a a car hit me from behind, my car was pushed into another vehicle a car length ahead of me. My airbags did not deploy, my head hit the steering wheel. My car was also pushed sideways into the concrete divider. When I read the recall, it is exactly what happened in my car. My car was manufactured October 28, 2014. Why did they not deploy? please advise as this was a serious situation and I am dealing with a brain injury. There was a fatality as well.

11 Body problem of the 2007 Audi A4

Failure Date: 10/01/2016

So I opened up the sunroof, took a long wire and started poking. I also removed the wheel arch and cleaned out the outlet. I poured a bucket of water thru and it came out of the bottom nicely. All well I thought. Today it rained for the first time since then, and I was very unpleasantly surprised to feel waterdrops dripping from the hood opening grip next to my feet. Since my car is always outside and not covered against the rain, I had to deal with it right away. I stripped the a pillar cover and saw it had serious water marks. Obviously the water had been dripping slowly for many months already. It just never got worse enough as you can see in the picture the green hose is the drain, and it has a brown stripe down the bottom from long time dripping. The leak seemed to come from all the way up to where it is connected to the sunroof drain pipe. I pulled it loose and the hose is fitted to the pipe with soft plastic connector. The connector slides over the pipe, but the hose is glued to it. Now the glue is exactly what caused the problem! the glue had gotten brittle and had cracked, it seems like Audi used the wrong glue for this hose. I cleaned it , glued it back together and poured another bucket of water thru, but now while the lining was still open and the hose fully exposed. No drip at all! I must say, this problem was a very nasty one, it really bugged me very much to get water in the car, especially because it can do so much damage. Attached is a picture where you see the roof airbag which was totally wet also. A picture where you see the green hose with the drip marks, and a picture which shows the left side of the dashboard with the fuse box exposed, if you look closely, you see the steel is rusted, since the sunroof water draining is a very wide spread q7 problem I would advise all owners to check the fuse box.

12 Body problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 03/26/2016

Sun roof drains on right hand side of vehicle have failed (fail to seal out external water like rain) leading to significant quantities of water entering the passenger compartment and draining into various areas of the car during any measurable rain fall. The last rain storm of about 1/3" was enough to cause the following damage. While parked overnight, some of the water pooled in the right rear body column space where the master computer for much of the car is located. The water shorted out the computer and left car inoperable, unmoveable, unusable until it was towed and replaced, this included the purchase of a new computer and its programming and the reprogramming of the car's keys. Additionally the water saturated the carpet throughout the car and the seats. The sunroof drain repair was expensive as were the computer replacement and reprogramming. Audi has settled a class action lawsuit for leaky sunroof drains for model years 2005-2008, mine is a 2009 so no luck from Audi on paying for any of it, and when I called to complain they denied any fault in the matter.

13 Body problem of the 2004 Audi A4

Failure Date: 04/10/2015

Rear window of convertible soft top for 2004 Audi A4 cabriolet. An old issue often suffered by Audi cabriolets from 2003-2009. Claimed to be caused by the adhesive that Audi uses. This can be caused by keeping the car outside instead of in a garage as prolonged exposure to sunlight causes the adhesive to give away and fail, causing the rear window to separate from the outer layer of the top and drop. While the window is still technically attached to the inner layer of the top, the window no longer protects against water. As a result rain can seep into the non water resistant inner layer of the top and then cause water damage to the rear seats. This is the case with my own car and with a large enough number of cabriolets that this should have been settled frankly, a good 10 years ago when the first cases were being noticed. I have as many others have, attempted to use a temporary fix and as a result, there is a clear industrial adhesive around the top and rear window to attempt to fix this, it fails with continued use.

14 Body problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 09/05/2013

The 2009 Audi A4 convertible rear window's adhesive on my car (and others, according to internet/youtube postings) is becoming detached from the top. The only choice owners have is to purchase a new convertible top. Dealers charge between $4500-$6000. Private body shops charge approx. $1600+. While researching the issue, I discovered that it is a relatively common problem with Audi convertibles, as confirmed by the Audi service rep who informed me of the issue during a service visit. If that is the case, Audi should hold the adhesive company responsible for repair, not the Audi customer. Purchasing an entirely new top is unreasonable and unfair. My request: Audi USA should issue a recall, whether the car is still under warranty or not, at no charge to its customers. Should recoup costs from the adhesive manufacturer. At the very least, customers, at the point of sale, should be warned of the possibility of the defect that happens soon after purchase.

15 Body problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 02/16/2013

I was just parking the car and was about 5 mph and suddenly car got accelerated unintentionally to higher rpm and hit the curb and above cement wall . Even applying brakes hadn't slowed down the vehicle because it was just few feet away.

16 Body problem of the 2008 Audi A4

Failure Date: 03/25/2010

I accidentally drove over the rumble strip on the side of the highway. The right rear tire blew and the car flipped over six times and changed direction. Every side air bag inflated excepted for my side, the driver's side air bag. The front air bag did not deploy either. My A4 was completely destroyed except for where I was sitting. When the first responders came they did not expect for me to be alive and the accident was classified as a level 2 trauma. I hit my head on the driver's side window and suffered a major concussion with a hematoma. I also had major facial lacerations, a broken nose, broken ribs, and a severe bone bruise on my knee. Audi sent an inspector to the car after the accident and his conclusion was there was not enough impact on the side of the car even though the car flipped six times at highway speeds to deploy my side air bag. Every other side curtain airbag deployed. The only other passengers in the car were my two labradors. No other adults were in the car. The two labradors each weighed less than 65 pounds and I weigh 135 pounds. Audi has given me a free maintenance package for my next Audi. Thank you for looking into this matter. A dvd of pictures was made of the car along with a report of the condition of the car after the accident.

17 Body problem of the 2003 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/11/2009

Defective convertible top on 2003 Audi A4 has resulted in the rear glass window to become loose. I'm very concerned that the window will fly off. Based on on-line postings, this is a very, very common occurrence. To date, Audi nor any government agency has done anything to rectify the faulty manufacturing issue.

18 Body problem of the 2008 Audi A4

Failure Date: 04/01/2009

Driving on interstate, light traffic, 65mph, 5pm, good but wet conditions. Sun roof exploded! very very loud. Baseball sized hole in exact middle of sun roof with glass pushed outward (bowl shaped). No impact with rocks or anything else near by. No car in front but a car in next lane. Dealer had not heard of such a problem. Cost was about $800 for replacement which warranty apparently did not cover according to dealer.

19 Body problem of the 2005 Audi A4

Failure Date: 12/08/2004

At 2,200 miles, a headlight warning light came on, and I took my car to the dealership. I was told that a mouse had climbed into my engine, built a nest out of the hood insulation, and chewed through wires. Audi refused to cover any damages. This incident cost me $1,400. I have parked in the same spot of my underground garage for 3 years, and this never happened to my previous car. I feel Audi should be held responsible for damages due to poor construction of the car's undercarrige.
