1 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2006 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/30/2014

Right after I purchased the car I started having problems, especially with the lights. My right headlight would consistently turn off, then some time later come back on. This would happen periodically, but the worst is when I am driving 60mph+ at night and lose all my lights. Running lights, headlights, high beams, fog lights, all of it. This happens consistently every week. About a month after purchase my right headlight went out and never came back on. I received an error on my dash that states "right dipped headlight. " I checked it out and decided to change the bulb. Well, I did and that didn't work. I looked up more into it online and it's quite an expensive fix, and it's not guaranteed to even work. My headlight is out and about every week sometimes multiple times a week my lights completely go out unexpectedly. This is a huge problem with lots of people I discovered on google.

2 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2006 Audi A4

Failure Date: 11/26/2013

I was driving on I-45 s to houston and at 9 pm, I tried turning my front fog light on as it was getting foggy occasionally. I was at 75 mph speed on right lane, all of a sudden all lights went out, I immediately pulled over to the median and after playing around some kind of light came back, drove to nearest exit to gas station about a mile further and checked all lights, it was working fine now. I have read similar kind of complaint here and not sure if it is getting attention. Does death has to occur before nhsta and Audi listen to this problem. 75 mph in interstate at night without lights on, can you imagine my situation. It can easily cause death and damage. Fix this problem because it is not bulb issue, it is manufacturer defect.

3 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2008 Audi A4

Failure Date: 09/30/2012

Headlights shut off while driving at night. I have looked at many forums and have seen this a problem in over 70 percent of Audi A4 b7 owners. This is an extreme hazard and needs to be fixed. My headlights shut off while driving at 8 pm. They would flicker, but would not re fire. I am speaking about the bi-xenon headlights for the 2006 - 2008 Audi line. I ended up driving home with my fog lights on.

4 Fog Light Switch problem of the 1998 Audi A4

Failure Date: 11/16/2011

On a 1998 A4 quattro Audi, it is the 2nd time that the headlights switch fails, the first time was 6 months ago and have to replace the entire steering wheel colum switch package. This is the second time, and this time I was on a higway around 11:00 pm with no headlights at all, in this car if the headlights does not work, also the fog lights does not work too, so suddenly you end at the middle of the night on a highway with no lights at all. This definetly is a high risk situation because you can not drive with out headlights it is like blind driving. I been searching on the web and it looks like a very common failure on this cars but there is no recall at all for this yet.

5 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2004 Audi A4

Failure Date: 09/25/2010

I purchased a used 2004 Audi A4 in November 2007 from an Audi dealership. In the fall of 2008, both my headlights and both taillights all went out within a month of each other. I brought the car into the Audi dealership and paid for service replacement bulbs for all four lights. About a month ago, my car dashboard gave a warning that my rear left fog light went out. I have not replaced that yet, as I do not use my fog lights. Last week, I got another dashboard message that my right front headlight has dipped. The right headlight is now much more dim than the left one. Because it has been summer, I have very rarely needed to drive at dark using headlights in the past few months. I researched on the internet and found several complaints for Audi cars with dipped front headlight problems, and no resolutions or true fixes for the problem. At a minimum, it appears it will cause great expense to have the headlight fixed, only to have a very high chance of the problem recurring anyway. Several of those website referred me to this complaint form. I have not yet contacted the Audi dealer about fixing this problem, as I don't want to pay for just a temporary fix. As we now get into the fall and winter months, I am concerned for my safety while driving in the dark.
