Mechanical Jack Problems of Audi A4

The car jack broke down while replacing a flat tire, and the car fell on the ground after being suspended in air. Fortunately while all the bolts have been removed, the wheel was stuck to the hub or otherwise I would have been seriously injured. I think the jack has a very flawed design. Where the two parallel frames can be easily bent outward because they don't have enough support and then the support can slide out of its designated channel I have pictures of the failed jack. I am really concerned of what would have happened to my hands if not the miracle of the stuck wheel was there to prevent injury of my hands. . I have contacted the manufacturer to investigate this faulty design but they responded that they recorded the information for the future and there haven't been enough incidents yet to justify design review.

Audi jack came with my 2004 Audi A4 quattro sedan broke while putting a wheel. I was in the parking lot so the surface is flat. I use the use the jack that came with my car to jack up the car so that I can replace my wheel. The jack broke as I was putting on the wheel trying to align the holes to put back the bolts. The jack just snapped luckily my fingers and hand did not get caught and I was not under the car. The jack was broke today August 5, 2005 at around 4:00pm pacific time. I got to the dealership 10 minutes to 5:00pm and the service rep told me that all the technician have gone home for the day and they ask me to contact Audi USA. I cannot reach Audi USA because they have close for the day. I will try to contact them on Monday. The point to my complaint is that the jack is unsafe. Please investigate the jack the come with all Audi cars. There are alot of people experiencing the same problem with the Audi jack. Thank you, kenny,.
