Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Audi A4

Rear view camera is intermittant when in reverse and backing up the vehicle. Sometimes there is no rear view camera while backing up. Multiple trips to Audi dealer - not fixed. Loaner car from dealer, 2018 Audi a5 had exactly the same problem. No rear camera - radio screen instead. Bug in Audi software - this model needs to be recalled to force Audi to fix this safety problem. Two pictures provided - one is my A4 and the other is the Audi a5 loaner : both show the cars in reverse and the radio screen displayed - not the rear view camera latest occurance was 10/19 no picture taken.

2000 Audi A4. Consumer writes in regards to the ovd 2 unit in Audi and vw vehicles the consumer stated the problem involved the ovd 2 unit which communicated the smog test results to the computer and dmv. Although, the vehicle would pass the emissions test, there would be a communication error. The dmv required the communication and made no exception. The root of the problem stemmed from the ovd 2 unit placed into the radio. When the radio is replaced with a non Audi or vw radio the ovd 2 unit is no longer there. The consumer was informed the price to replace the radio containing the ovd 2 unit is $1000 and up.

Driver's door tweeter cuts out. 8/30/02--speaker is replaced. Problem still not fixed. 9/20/02--radio is replaced. The problem still exists. I've given up on the ability of this dealer's service department to fix anything right the first time. . . .

Screen on the radio flashes intermittently, causing you to look away from the road expecially at night. It could be some sort of short which I belive could lead to fire.
