1 Warnings problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2023

Received a message for "electrical system failure" and drove ok at first but began receiving failure messages for various systems including but not limited to start/stop system, transmission, power steering, and crash avoidance systems. Soon after the entertainment and comfort system screens went blank followed by the dash screen and the car eventually just turned off as I was trying to find a safe place to pull over. Safety was put a risk as I was stranded on a busy road with no shoulder and because the battery was impacted my hazard lights only lasted a short time which left me and my vehicle exposed on the side of the road. The car was towed to the dealer (Audi of albany) who inspected determined the failure was related to a faulty ignition generator. The car is currently at Audi of albany and will be for at least 2 weeks so I am assuming it would be available for inspection. Many different warning lights appeared in the short time leading to total shutdown of the car. I recall a start/stop failure message, batter charge low, transmission failure light, power steering failure warning, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision avoidance among others. As stated above all screens in the car eventually turned off and the car fully failed on a main road and required a tow to the dealer.

2 Warnings problem

Failure Date: 11/19/2022

I was driving on the interstate when the vehicle gave a warning saying "electrical system malfunction, contact dealership". I went to the dealership as I was within a couple of miles and they said it could be many things and they would need to evaluate it the following week. I left with the car and attempted to drive it back the following week on the scheduled appointment. The vehicle did not make it back to the dealership. While driving on the interstate back to the dealership, a message saying, "electrical system failure, safely exit roadway" came on. I was able to exit off the interstate immediately into a parking lot. While I was trying to exit, multiple warning lights came on saying the crash sensors were inoperable, transmission was inoperable, camera system was inoperable, and the car started shaking as if the engine was loose under the hood and it shut off and would not restart. This took less than about 90 seconds as I was at an exit and already in the right lane on the interstate. Audi care came and towed the vehicle and the dealer says the alternator has gone bad and it is on backorder. This is exceptionally dangerous because if I were not at an exit and in heavy traffic, this could have happened while I was in the middle of the interstate and the vehicle lost all power. I've since read Audi forum and found this exact scenario has happened to many drivers who were not as lucky to be near an exit or under warranty. Audi should recall the vehicle because it puts the driver in a very dangerous situation. I was stuck in an empty parking lot for several hours waiting for a tow but I consider myself lucky after reading the experience of other drivers. My car has been in the shop for three weeks now and I'm not sure when they will have it fixed. My warranty expires in the next few months so I may end up having to pay for repairs later because my warranty expired while the car sits at the dealer and I won't be able to test if it has been resolved.

3 Warnings problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2022

Multiple warnings indicating to contact dealer (lane departure, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, etc) then 1 minute later transmission failure and engine failure imminent. . . . Pull over immediately and contact dealer. I turned into a road off main highway within a minute of the last two warnings and as I turned, my center mmi went blank then my electronic dash went blank, transmission went into neutral and the engine died all within a few seconds. Fortunately I was able to coast to a stop in the parking lot.

4 Warnings problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2020

August 25, 2020 traveling wb on I-90 [mass turnpike] passing and 18 wheel tractor trailer with an unmarked white box trailer. Truck 'weaved' to the left into my driving lane as I was overtaking it. I swerved to the left to avoid contact of my 2019 Audi A6 premium plus at about the a pillar and the rear wheel area of the box trailer. In my evasive action the car's lane keeping assistant activated as I was about to cross the lines on my left side to avoid the truck, the car took control of the steering and aggressively steering the car back at the tractor trailer. I braked the car as hard I could to avoid collision with the box trailer. None of the collision warning system activated and the car's sensors and cameras did not recognize that I was trying to avoid a high speed collision with the tractor trailer. I brought the car to the dealership [Audi albany, latham NY] after return from my trip to have safety systems checked. No fault codes were detected.
