Battery Problems of Audi A6

The contact owns a 2007 Audi A6. The contact was driving 30 mph when the headlights, tail lights and fog lights failed to illuminate intermittently. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer but the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact believed that the failure was caused by the computer system. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon turning the key in the ignition, a loud "pop" was heard and smoke began to escape from under the hood. After opening the hood it appeared that the battery had in some way exploded.

1997 Audi A6, vehicle caught fire. According to the police report, the fire appeared to have started in the battery compartment located underneath the right seat of the vehicle. Ohio traffic report # 10-0327-89.

Consumer has had valve cover replaced 3 times on the 2001 a-6. The right side camshaft tensioner seals were replaced. The valve cover gasket was replaced. The pcv hose assembly broke and had to be replaced. The consumer request reimbursement due to the inadequate service received. The battery in the vehicle died twice.

Battery under rear seat shorted due to malfunction or contact with wires on bottom of seat cushion due to inadequate clearance between battery and cushion. Fire preceeded by lights flashing on and off and moon roof opening and closing. Smoke came up from under rear seat where my 14 year old daughter was seated. Fire extinguished probably due to lack of 0xygen. Dealer reports mechanic has seen prior case similar.

Audi could not fix multiple problems. Told me to sell it. No safety defect listed within summary.
