1 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Audi A6

Failure Date: 02/25/2025

I purchased a 2014 Audi A6 2. 0t quattro premium plus on November 15, 2024 with 99,141 miles. I got the 14 day dealership extended warranty, which covered powertrain systems. After 3 days of driving exactly 103 miles the oil light came on my dashboard telling me that the oil was low. I immediately brought it back to the dealership and their mechanic look at it, he said there was nothing wrong and changed the oil so it should be good now. I drove it another 3 days 136 miles this time, and the oil light came on once again. Brought it back a 2nd time to the dealership’s mechanic. After about a week, we heard back and they told us he still couldn’t find anything wrong, but agreed that for some reason, the engine is consuming oil more than it should be. At this point we go to an actual Audi dealership where they tell us that the pistons and turbo were the problem so they would have to rip apart the engine and seal everything back up. At the time we purchased the vehicle on top of the 14 day dealership warranty we also purchased an extended warranty by a company called integrity warranty llc. Our warranty company decided that they were not going to cover the cost of the parts and labor in order to fix my Audi, because they said it was a pre-existing issue prior to us purchasing the vehicle which we had not heard of before, or even seen on the carfax report. On February 25 I was driving at night 25 mph and I came to a red light stopped my car and began smelling a very strange smell. Saw a lot of smoke coming from the exhaust in the back, the dashboard lights began flickering, the steering wheel start to shake, and then the car just shut down. Now I am without a vehicle, the dealership will not help us, the warranty company will not help us, and I now have to purchase a new car while still making payments on the Audi that doesn’t work.

Failure Date: 12/31/2024

It was recently began to leak fuel from the top of the engine close to the windshield. Then the whole cabin specially in the front where the steering wheel began to have bad vibration during reversed, and idle, also when the ac is on. Then theres the airbag for the passenger, the light is on, it used to say '"off" then when the seat is used it will shut off. Now it just stays on. Last is the ac compressor seems to be rattling like a bolt is loose. All the recalls have been happening with my Audi and still my VIN is not included.

4 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Audi A6

Failure Date: 02/08/2024

Audi issued a recall for our vehicle’s fuel level sender which reports the amount of fuel in the tank to our fuel gauge display in late 2022 or early 2023. The reason for the recall stems from a safety issue in which the car incorrectly can display that there is more fuel in the tank than what is actually there. Our local dealership’s service center, princeton Audi initially completed this recall repair in late February or early March of 2023 while the car had roughly 25-26,000 miles on it. Less than a fews days later, the recall repair failed and our car shutdown on us leaving my wife stranded while I was having surgery unable to help her. I escalated and reported this issue to Audi of America immediately to create awareness as this was dangerous. The princeton Audi service center attempted to repair the recall a second time and assured us the repair was successful. The same issue has unfortunately resurfaced less than a year later, in February of 2024 while the vehicle has only 33,398 miles on it. After a third attempt to repair this recall, the princeton Audi service advisor confirmed the fuel level sensor was again faulty. Regretfully we are still seeing inaccurate reporting of the fuel levels in our car creating a perpetually dangerous situation for myself, my family, and others on the road. Our car can shutdown on a major highway if it runs out of gas because the fuel gauge display keeps showing we might have half a tank or more due to the inaccurate reporting from the fuel level sender. After contacting Audi of America again about this failed recall, they seem to be dodging responsibility for the failed remedy and providing no recourse to ensure the safety of myself, my family, or those we out at risk if we keep driving this vehicle. The princeton Audi service center keeps stating they have made the repair, but the recall remedy keeps failing for us. Please help us as they refuse to replace the vehicle or buy it back after the failed recall.

5 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Audi A6

Failure Date: 12/31/2023

P2067 engine check code which shows faulty fuel sensor. Audi has recalled other year Audi A6 sedan vehicles with the same issue and this seems to be a safety issue as it can show incorrect fuel gauge and in the event of car out of fuel, engine can stall and can cause accident.

6 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Audi A6

Failure Date: 12/27/2023

Good morning, for the past couple of weeks, I've been getting the run around on whether the issue I'm having with my vehicle is an active recall. I recently took my vehicle to eurocode tuning (torrance, CA), and the mechanic instructed me to take my vehicle to the dealer because the issue I am currently experiencing (fuel leak in the injection system) is listed as a recall. I contacted the Audi dealership in long beach CA via phone at (562)610-4000, the service representative stated that he found no active recall on my vehicle. Once again contacted eurocode tuning and they stated to have them run a diagnostic on the vehicle and they will see its the fuel leak in the injection system. And they are required by law to fix the recall. The following morning I took my vehicle into mckenna Audi ( norwalk, CA) and one of the service representatives reiterates that my vehicle has no active recall. I stated that I was well aware of that, however, the issue I was having was listed as a recall on the web and I was informed by the repair shop as well. I proceeded to show him the information I got offline and my failed smog that was done on my vehicle. He proceeded to show me the breakdown on his computer that it was no active recall and the only thing that they were looking into was issues regarding the turbo. He stated what I was talking about was an extended warranty and my vehicle is well past that warrant. He then proceeded to say if a diagnostic is done on my vehicle I will be responsible to pay it and any repair done on my vehicle. So I walked out and decided to contact you. I am just trying to determine whether my vehicle could be repaired under the recall. I'm extremely frustrated and concerned for my safety because the recall did state the risk of a fire. Sincerely a confused, frustrated Audi owner shantel rudonski (323)861-7131.

7 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Audi A6

Failure Date: 10/21/2023

The alternator had failed along with the battery and shut off the car, rendering it useless on the road. The vehicle is still under the new car warranty. It was a hazard as it could not be put into neutral and was stuck in park. The dealer had confirmed it was a manufacturer-wide problem with waits of up to 3-6 months for the part. The tow truck had difficulty towing it up as the car was not able to roll. Before the car shut off immediately it had given the warning "electrical system: malfunction! please contact service, as well as auto start stop system: malfunction!".

8 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Audi A6

Failure Date: 10/06/2023

The epc light came on in my vehicle and I noticed I started to lose gas faster than normal. Took it to a shop to get diagnosed, they stated that my vehicle was under a recall (recall #24dp). I called Audi and they said I do not fall under the warranty even though the website said 2016-2018 Audi A6 were under recall. They would not provide any help for me. My vehicle is showing all the signs of the recall. Sometimes the car will accelerate too fast and it is a risk for not only other drivers but me as well. It is just ironic that the same same problem for that recall is happening to my vehicle.

9 Other Fuel System problem of the 2001 Audi A6

Failure Date: 03/01/2023

My Audi A6 is experiencing symptoms of a documented and open recall at Audi, and Audi USA and the dealer are refusing to even evaluate the vehicle for recall status. The recall is a rollover valve nipple, with age and stress cracking can develop on the plastic fuel tank, causing a leak to occur. My car is experiencing just such a symptom, and has been confirmed by two independent mechanics.

10 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Audi A6

Failure Date: 12/28/2022

I’ve stated to dealer I’ve been having ongoing problems with my vehicle and they failed to fix the issue , while refueling the fuel nozzle stops and fuel spills. They said it’s safe to drive it’s just a sensor that needs to be moved.

11 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Audi A6

13 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Audi A6

Failure Date: 05/12/2022

I have recently purchased my 2014 Audi A6 in honolulu at jn autogroup. After just a couple days of driving the vehicle I have noticed that the car started to smell like gas in and out of the vehicle. The smell is very potent and very sensible throughout every second of driving and I am reporting this because this could be very hazardous and I may not know if it could catch on fire with the amount of fumes that is lingering around. To the point where as I am driving it is making me dizzy. I have researched about issues for these cars with the same year, make and model and I have read that there was a recall on the fuel line leak but I don’t know why my car wasn’t included in this recall base of the data I have pulled up on the Audi recall center. I’m not sure if it has been recalled but the problem for sure wasn’t solved with my vehicle. On the other hand, I have also noticed that the reverse camera on this vehicle goes for a split second on the dash whenever in reverse then suddenly blacks out the entire screen. I am thinking that the wiring or some kind of harness that operates the reverse camera is not done properly by the factory that causes malfunctions within the system. In conclusion, these are two of the reasons why I am completing this incident report because I feel that these are two hazardous features that is important for not just myself but the community and people that surrounds me whenever I am on the road behind the wheel. It is important for this to be resolved because the company of this vehicle advertises all these features and sells this product but there is an issue with the product and I want it to be looked upon and not swept under the rug because I am not only speaking for myself but for the many thousands and thousands of these car owners that is on the road today who are having the same issue as I do. I’d appreciate your service if this can be fixed, thank you!.

14 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Audi A6

Failure Date: 04/28/2022

1. Vehicle airbag indicator has illumated. I haven't received a recall letter from manufacturer. Have concerns about driving with airbag light on. 2. There is a recall for electrical wiring. 3. Fuel system/ fuel rail is being recalled.

18 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Audi A6

Failure Date: 07/02/2020

In the summer months, my 2014 Audi A6 develops fuel-like fumes filling the cabin and trunk. The fumes become more intense/pronounced when I accelerate from a stop or when moving through traffic. Several times in 2019, my Audi hesitated then stopped twice in traffic. Once on a city road and the other time on the left lane of a highway. Audi service diagnosed a gas pump issue. However, a replacement gas pump did not fully prevent gas fumes from developing in the car. I believe this is related to NHTSA campaign id 17v781000/Volkswagen 20ar. But, I've been told otherwise from the dealership and your site.

19 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Audi A6

Failure Date: 03/08/2020

Ran obd reader myself and at mechanic and found the following; p0456 evap emission control system (very small leak) | leak detected and p190f00 coolant pump for charge pressure cooler | electrical malfunction in load circuit. Mechanic informed that the vehicle needs a software update regarding the p0456 code as no leak was found. Also that only Audi performs this update. Regarding the p190f00 code informed me that there are several recalls regarding this issue as it has been causing some severe symptoms such as engine shaking, loss of power, squealing, whining noise near or at timing belt area at start up, delayed reaction at acceleration ( takes a while to reach desired speeds), temp gauge lowering despite warm up, warming of vehicle taking longer, unable to drive over 30-40mph and rpm won't go above 2000-2500 rpms. Acceleration is not as responsive as it should be.

20 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Audi A6

Failure Date: 03/06/2020

At slow speed and particularly when starting from stationary, such as stopped to wait to turn left, the car stalls for 2-3 seconds, suggesting that it isn't getting fuel. Once moving, the car runs fine. I have taken the car to the Audi dealer twice. The problem remains. The car only has 14,800 miles on it. It's been happening since I bought the car in March, 2020.

21 Other Fuel System problem of the 2006 Audi A6

Failure Date: 02/03/2020

Failed fuel injector seal causing fuel leak.

22 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Audi A6

Failure Date: 01/15/2020

I acquired this car (2. 0t) two nights ago and on three occasions (so far) the engine completely stalls when the car comes to a stop. Not the typical auto on/off feature function. I have to restart the ignition and put the car in drive again. Once, even in the middle of rush hour traffic. So far, the only consistent scenario is when I am on the second leg of a trip. For example, I get in the car at my office, drive to a store or daycare. Get back in the car, start up, drive a couple of miles and the car shuts down at a complete stop. Very unnerving on a brand new car with less than 200 miles on it. I've looked across the internet and it seems to be quite a widespread issue for vw and Audi drivers of recent model cars. This is a safety concern and needs to be addressed.

23 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Audi A6

Failure Date: 01/10/2020

I have a fuel leakage on the lower right side of my vehicle and as soon as I park the vehicle I can feel the fuel smell all around my vehicle. I have given my vehicle to authorized Audi dealer (bell Audi, edison) and they never said anything about the recall going on Audi vehicles.

24 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Audi A6

Failure Date: 12/11/2019

When making a u-turn after completing the turn portion the car fails to accelerate. It is as if the vehicle can't figure out what it is supposed to do. The failure is for a short time but absolutely nothing happens when the accelerator is pushed then suddenly the vehicle again accelerates. This has happened to me 4 times in the past year. Discussed with dealer and was told that is "the nature of the car" and the service tech said it usually happened to him when turning in an intersection and he would "floor it" and the car would jump.

25 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Audi A6

Failure Date: 11/16/2019

Issues with electrical cables more than once, also fuel exhaust issue and cooling system. Vehicle stationary and or driving under 50 miles.

26 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Audi A6

Failure Date: 08/28/2019

Audi recalled 2012-2015 A6 cars with the 2. 0l tfsi engine, along with other Audi models, due to faulty coolant/water pump (NHTSA recall # 18v-229 mfg recall #19n3/19n4). For the A6, the bracketing was for cars built from 4/4/2011 - 12/22/2014. The bracketing for other models impacted by the recalled varied from 2012-2017. My A6 2. 0 was built in Feb 2015, but was classified as a 2016 model. On 8/28/2019 my check engine light turned on. I took the car into my Audi dealership for servicing. The technician stated that I had a defective coolant/water pump, and that the pump was about to burst and needed immediate replacement. I was aware of the recall, and asked if the pump on my car was similar to the pumps covered under the recall, which they confirmed the pump part number on my car matched the pump part number that was being recalled. However, since my car was classified as a 2016, it was not covered under the recall. It appears that the bracketing that was used to determine which cars should be covered under the recall was not broad enough for the A6 models, as it appears that the defective pumps were also used on some 2016 A6 models or cars built after 12/22/2014.

27 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Audi A6

Failure Date: 08/22/2019

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Audi A6 sedan 2. 0t fwd multitronic. Contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the vehicle begin to loss power and jerk as the engine warning light illuminated. The contact mentioned an abnormal odor inside the vehicle. The contact veered to the shoulder of the road, turn the vehicle off and back on which failed to resume back to normal. The contact depressed the accelerator which failed to accelerate pass 40 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer ridgeland auto world 750 ridgewood rd, ridgeland, ms 39157 (601) 899-8500 where the vehicle was diagnosed but unable to duplicate any issue. The vehicle was then taken to a independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the water pump and a leaking gas line needed to be replaced. The vehicle at this time is begin repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that no recall was under the VIN. While searching the contact vehicle NHTSA campaign number: 17v781000 fuel system, gasoline which could possible be the solution to the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000. Ck.

28 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Audi A6

Failure Date: 12/03/2018

Ifm an active duty military service member stationed overseas in south korea. I currently own a 2015 Audi A6. I was recently notified that my vehicle had 2 recalls placed, specifically on the electric coolant pump and on the passenger occupant detection system (pods). I visited my local Audi dealership in korea and the Audi staff said that they cannot fix or repair the issue since it is a u. S. Specific recall. I called the u. S. Audi service desk and they also said that they cannot help with the issue and told me to check with NHTSA. I fully understand the limitations in this matter but I do want to appeal that there are several military members in the same situation. As a service member, husband, and a father, I am deeply concerned about the safety of my car. I sincerely wanted to reach out and see if there is any possible way to resolve this issue overseas. Your thoughts in this matter will be deeply appreciated, thank you very much for your time.

29 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Audi A6

Failure Date: 11/15/2018

Upon starting my vehicle I noticed extended cranking. Upon driving the vehicle I noticed a fuel odor, initially I thought it was the older vehicle driving in front of me. After driving approximately 4 miles I realized it was my vehicle. I then drove my vehicle back to my house, and had it towed to Audi of albany due to recalls that were open. Upon inspection they performed recalls, but informed me the recall for the engine fuel rails was performed June 2015. They then told me they needed to charge labor to inspect the issue, to which point I told them I am an ase master mechanic, and I will figure the issue out myself. I then had the vehicle towed to my garage, where I took it apart following the recall provided on your website. Upon inspection I verified that the injector supports (p/n 06d133036k) listed in the recall (code 24ap) were never replaced. The injector supports I removed from my vehicle are (p/n 06d133036h). Audi has had my vehicle now from 21nov2018 until the present. They will not verify that those parts were supposed to be replaced during the recall, and also if any other parts were never replaced. They have contacted me and told me my fuel injector failed causing the fuel leak, and everything will be covered. I believe my injector failed (if that is the truth) due to the non replaced injector supports. The incorrect geometry over time would cause stress on the injector, and for it to crack. I also question if any seals were truthfully replaced, or if the recall was done at all. I also fear that this issue may have occurred to others who had the recall performed there (langan Audi), and are not mechanically inclined enough to disassemble there engine and fuel systems. This problem could have caused a fiery death for me and my family in the car if I wasn't inclined enough to realize the problem is my car and not others around me.

30 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Audi A6

Failure Date: 03/01/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2012 Audi A6. The contact was unable to turn the key in the ignition and start the vehicle. The "steering fault" message appeared and the eps warning indicator flashed. The failure seized the steering wheel; therefore, the vehicle was towed to Audi meadowlands (425 route 3 east, secaucus, NJ 07094, (201) 982-7056). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 17v781000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer issued 53 tsbs for the steering, but no recall. The manufacturer was contacted to address the failure and the recall repair. The failure mileage was not available.

31 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Audi A6

Failure Date: 01/04/2017

Fuel hose appears to have deteriorated from the inside. Small pinhole leak appeared and allowed for gasoline to spill onto hot engine. Current Volkswagen recall 24bz does not appear to include my VIN, although characteristics are exactly as described in recall. I believe the recall needs to be expanded to include my VIN. The vehicle was in motion and the strong smell of gasoline started to permeate through the cabin. As I investigated the cause, I found the crack in the fuel hose. Subsequently, I cut the hose at the failure point and found deep cracks all along the internal layer of hose, outer layer appeared in tact except where the hole emerged.

32 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Audi A6

Failure Date: 06/13/2016

The contact owns a 2012 Audi A6. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking fuel, which was identical to the failure listed in NHTSA campaign number: 15v19000 (fuel system, gasoline). The VIN was excluded from the recall. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed fuel leaking from the intake manifold. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

33 Other Fuel System problem of the 2000 Audi A6

Failure Date: 03/29/2016

The first time this car had any problems with anything leaking was a couple days ago when we woke up in middle of the night to house and garage smelling like gas. On driver's side rear by passenger door there was a small leak looked like oil but smelled of gas and underneath car you can see wear a small crack is at in fuel system. I see many recalls for same thing for different years and complaints filed for this same problem and year. No recall notices was ever received by myself or previous two owners who was friends or it would have been fixed. I am upset because now it won't be fixed under recall because it's been so long however there was no close date on reports it shows several thousand cars never got the repair and was not notified. This is a huge safety issue that not only can start car on fire but house on fire if parked in garage. Now I am suppose to pay for the cost on something that was not put together correctly and is a safety hazzard because I was not warned about it by mail or when car was serviced and never had trouble till now and there are tons of customers you are not helping with same problem year make and model of car. If this results in death than it will become a more serious problem on your hand for not fixing a recall that has been known to be problems on several years of Audi's and not all Audi owners was reach or repairs done and now when we are finding out we are being turned away. If this was not something hazardous or life threatening that's one thing but something so dangerous that can take a life you should make sure every recall that is safety related and hazardous fix regardless of when notice if found. I am expecting the recalls for all fuel related problems on all Audi be fixed when customers call to inquire and not be turned away after we are sent to dealer to have it looked at.

34 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Audi A6

Failure Date: 01/21/2016

There is a fuel smell inside the car and in the garage where it is parked. In stop and go traffic moving at 5-10 miles per hour, the smell is very noticeable inside the car.
