Hello! today I was at the sams club gas station to fill up my vehicle, 2000 Audi A6 with the 4. 2 engine. When I finished, I went over to the driver side, where ive seen a huge amount of gas on the ground. The fuel was leaking really bad from my car. The sam's club even called the fired department and the police there too. It leaked out a lot couple gallons from my vehicle. Thanks god the gas station had a small incline so I could notice it right before I would drive away. Just thinking that I would drive away and something serious would happen it scares me. As I understand a lot of Audis are recalled because of this issue. Mine is not under the recall. What can I do to get mine under the recall too? please help me. Thank you, steve.

The contact owns a 2012 Audi A6. The contact smelled fuel inside the vehicle. After driving a short distance, she was notified that there was a puddle of gasoline fuel under the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who stated that a rodent had eaten two inches of the fuel hose. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
There is not accident involved yet. There is a gas smell on left rear side, over the wheel arch on my Audi A6 2001. I searched NHTSA for Audi recall campaign. There is a recall campaign# 11v267000 however, when I contact Audi-USA at the number provided by this campaign, that is 1-800-822-2834, after asking my the vehicle mileage, Audi-USA just said my car is not covered by the this recall. Apparently, the defect exactly matches what this recall campaign# 11v267000 describes. Why Audi-USA refuses to cover my car? I am wondering whether it's because my car is at high mileage. They may try to save cost, but this is an apparent safety hazard caused by manufacturing defect. And the defect should be fixed regardless of vehicle mileage. Regulators need to oversight things like this. The car manufacturers cannot just wait to fix defects until real accident happens.

I recently bought my Audi and throughout the summer it drove just fine, but once winter came around and the temperatures dropped, I noticed the smell of gas in my car as soon as it was started. I opened the hood and there was gas spraying from what looked like all six fuel injectors. So I took the car to a mechanic, where they replaced numerous things (fuel pressure regulator, o rings, valve system, and all 6 fuel injectors) all to no avail. Nobody can tell me what is wrong, nobody knows. I called Audi and they told me I could take it to a dealership but that they couldn't promise they can fix the car. I can't drive the car, it is a safety hazard. I have looked on many forums and there have been a few other people with the same problem but nobody can figure out what is wrong. Is there a recall, or any information you can give as to how to fix this problem??.

Have had nothing but problems with the Audi A6 since inception. Car started making a horrible noise that sounds like it is coming from engine or transmission. Car cannot pass emissions. Engine smoking fluid is pouring out of front of transmission. The car dealer: nalley Audi in roswell, georgia. The car dealer nalley Audi fraudulently took money from me and never repaired vehicle.

Gas leaking on the floor of garage from roll-over nipple. The dealer refused to apply recall (not covered VIN) for this issue. The vehicle was repaired with Audi parts as listed in dot recall documents. The repair failed in April 2015. The 3m material used in the repair had deteriorated.
When filling car with gas the gas leaks out by filler tube at least a gallon or more. Have tried two different garages to fix problem but still leaks. I don't want to have an explosion caused from this problem, or gas leaked out my driveway or roads. Thanks for your help. I bought this car on the reputation of Audi and vw.
Typical Audi fuel leak problem. They say it is a roll over valve. They fixed it. It still leaks and now it is my problem at $2800.
I have a 2001 Audi A6 quattro 2. 8l with p1411 and p1423 dtc codes. I am hearing it is a vaccum hose or combi value problems from what I am reading, common to this model, but I have had several mechanics look at it and not want to tackle it. In a recent forum I was told many of the items I have listed were recall items-including vacuum hoses. Yes, many were, there was even a law suit with Audi, that Audi denied my claim and paid several on. I appealed and they did not respond and did not define why they refused to cover it. Audi still has yet to cover the vehicle in the professional manner I expected. My life burdens are enough, I do not need a car manufacturer or dealer to yank me around, the vehicle now has 205,000 miles, because I paid outrageous car repairs on it. I feel Audi is a good car, but fixing things on it that should be covered under recalls and service warranties is not happening. Do I really have to sue to get results, this is ridiculous! I have experienced check engine light, failed emissions testing, headlight problems, issues with water in lenses and mirrors, turn signal issues, I have had problems with my fuel line, replaced tie rods, and abs brake light signals after brake repair. I am hoping NHTSA can shed some light and assist me with rectifying my car situation possibly. I have been dealing with these issues for many years now and I am hopeful to receive some relief.
Car accelerate on it's own. About 15 minutes into trip, started to feel the car accelerating on it's own. When I let go of the accelerator, rpm did not drop. Double check the cruise control, turn it on and off makes no difference. Pull off road, put in neutral to stop, race to 4k rpm. Restart car, still @4k. Stopped for 5 minutes, restart, back to normal. An accident waiting to happen!.
On January 19, returning home from a family trip, the throttle on our 1999 A6 stuck open at 65mph. I was trapped in the left lane of a 4 lane highway with no shoulder to pull onto due to heavy snow accumulation. I had stand on the brakes as hard as I could to avoid smashing into the vehicles ahead of me that started to slow down for an upcoming speed zone. I overheated my brakes almost to the point of failure in order to pull into the right lane and make a quick exit where I turned off the key. My brakes smoked and smelled for about 15 minutes in zero temperatures. After letting it sit for a while I tried to start it again and it immediately redlined. We were eventually able to restart and drive the car home at a very slow and cautious pace using back roads. This was a terrifying and very dangerous, life threatening situation for my self and my family. Four days after the "repair" at john holtz Audi the throttle again froze when my wife had to slow for a stopping school bus. The exact same symptoms occured. I am a member of the Audi quatro club. Through my exposure to many other Audi owners I have learned that this problem is fairly common in very cold weather and the Audi solution of cleaning the throttle body does not prevent the problem from recurring. The authorized Audi mechanic who worked on my car in rochester used to work in vermont. He told me that the problem was often seen there, but infrequent in rochester, NY. He was relcuctant to discuss the situation extensively, saying" I have too many years in. " a friend of mine is an aftermarket Audi specialist who has documented this problem repeatedly. Gas gauge malfunctioned, preventing owner from identifying what the correct fuel reading was. Consumer has contacted dealer. Recall number 00v137000, consumer has yet to be contacted.
This, and apparently most, Audi A6 vehicles do not have functioning gas guages. As a result the driver does not know when the vehicle will run out of gas. I have run this vehicle out of gas 5 time since the problem began, the last at 65 mph in the fast lane of CA 101 freeway. The sudden vehicle slowdown almost caused a multi-car, high speed accident. Audi has repeatedly attempted to fix the problem but after 8 months, report that they do not have a fix available.
A malfunctioned gas gauge. Consumer was unable to get it repaired or replaced. Dealer/mfr notified. . Et.
The gas guage reads that there is more fuel in the vehicle than there actually is. Dealer replaced gas sensor, and problem still exists.
