Steering Problems of Audi A6 - part 2

Exhibits an alarming tendency to weave from side to side without a steering input. This occurs without a change in steering wheel position, vehicle speed, or change in road surface or prevailing wind direction. It is more pronounced at highway speeds and when wheel is centered at 12 o'clock but does occur at all speeds and steering vectors. Audi dealership notes the problem and blames the new electric steering system but states it is a "characteristic" of the system and is not a defect. I disagree and feel any direction change in a vehicle without a driver input or a explainable external factor constitutes a potential safety issue.

First the car ran hot no temp have came on had to replace motor . . . . . The cooling fan broke made of plastic and cut my serpentine belt into . . . . . . Then the car flooded and ruined the comfort control module had to replace this now the front axel is broke and the boots fell apart and the ball joints are no good. . . . . .

The car was parked, and the steering module broke down. It completely disabled the vehicle. It will not start, the gears will not change, and the steering wheel would not move. Audi dealer said it is a very common problem with this year model, and there are no recalls. The module is a very expensive, and after calling Audi warranty they refuse to do anything about it. No one returned a phone call after attempting to leave a message for the supervisor.

Steering wheel on the Audi A6 locked in the park position (up) and will not return.

This has been the third time my Audi A6 3. 0t has been to the dealer since purchasing it as a cpo vehicle for a steering wheel jerk and squeak problem at any speed. It wants to move the steering wheel (since it is electronic) slightly as well as squeak. I believe there has been a recall notice for this problem but my dealer has yet to recitify this problem and many many others have this same issue. A simple google search brings up tons of owners with this issue. Please help me to bring this to Audi and to resolution. I don't feel safe driving this car as it is currently.

I have a 2005 Audi A6 I drove the car for 2 weeks went out to start the car and it would not start the wheel was locked gear shifter locked. I had the car towed to Audi of south burlington. I told them I believed it was a issue with the access start control unit as I had read it many times over from others who had experienced the same issue. They told me it was the ignition switch replaced it to the tune of $881. 00 and sent me on my way. Luckily enough I was not stuck with a no starting car in an emergency or unsafe situation. 3 weeks to the day same issue. Back at the dealer guess what it's the access start control unit. When is someone going to hold Audi accountable for this common problem? this could pose a serious safety issue for the consumer stuck with a completely non functioning car because it happens just like a light switch with no warning!! let me illustrate this for you. . . You're out in a snow storm, you have your children with you, you have no cell service. . . . Ok you pull over or shut your car off for any reason, although it has been starting back up this time it doesn't. This isn't a safety issue when they find your frost bitten dead bodies the next day? crazy it could all be fixed if Audi would stop concealing problems to their consumers and just make a recall.

Steering is notchy and unstable on-center and slightly off-center. It is impossible to keep the car straight while accelerating, braking or at constant speed. Must constantly correct left and right making the car swerve uncontrollably left and right. Impossible to keep straight. It is hazardous to drive. Took care to dealership. They replaced the steering rack but the problem persists. I believe Audi is aware of the problem but hasn't provided a solution.

Car stopped in parking lot and would not move, turn on, shift gears or anything.

Consumer states in inclimate weather,while driving vehicle's throttle gets stuck open causing vehicle to have a hard shift. Please provide additional information. Ts.

While driving 55mph steering wheel heat sensors caught on fire. Flames shot out towards driver's face. There was no prior warning. The flames were extinguished by driver's hands. Managed to pull vehicle over. Contacted Audi dealership. Turned heat sensors off on steering wheel. Took vehicle to dealership & mechanic replaced steering wheel without the heat sensors.
