Air Bag Not Deploy Problems of Audi Q5

Car stationary on highway after traffic came to a stop due to a traffic incident ahead. Rear ended by vehicle going in excess of 40mph. Car pushed into car in front (car 3), spun around and hit the same car (car 3) in the front. Airbags did not deploy. Both driver and passenger were admitted to the hospital with injuries.

Air bags did not deploy in Audi at full stop when struck from the rear by vehicle traveling at speed sufficient for their air bags to deploy. Driver and passenger were both wearing seat belts, but accident resulted in both being hospitalized with injuries. Driver with eye and abdominal injuries from striking the steering wheel, and passenger suffered concussion from striking the windshield with sufficient force to shatter it, plus sustaining numerous muscle and joint sprains from impact with dashboard.

Tl the contact owned a 2014 Audi Q5. The contact stated that the vehicle was struck by another vehicle on the rear passenger side bumper. The contact's vehicle rolled over several times and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact and front passenger were injured and transported to the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was also injured, but is was unknown if medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 41,296.

Takata recall issued in 2016 but my dealer has been waiting over 6 weeks for parts to do the interim repair. Air bags have never deployed but I remain concerned about possible injury in the event of an accident.

We rear-ended a semi truck while driving on a highway as traffic began to slow . The entire front end of our vehicle was badly damaged. The airbags did not deploy and the pretensioners on the drivers seatbelt did not engage . The speed at which we were traveling is unknown but likely more than 15 miles per hour and less than 40 miles per hour. The driver looked away from the road briefly and rear-ended the truck ahead . We are extremely concerned that our airbags and seatbelt did not engage. The driver hit her head on the steering wheel and the passengers knees were jammed into the glove compartment.

Its been over a year I am aware of the recall, I have been serviced several times at 2 different dealers both state that they do not have parts to complete this recall. In January 2017 I was in a head on collision and the air bag did not deploy! I was told by the last dealer during 2 other recalls that NJ will have supplies come this fall! I would like this recall completed ASAP as its been over a year! plus having been in an accident head on its not to reassuring knowing the airbag will not deploy!.

The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The driver sustained chest injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was made aware of failure. The failure mileage was 59,110.
