1 Warning problem of the 2023 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 08/15/2024

3 times this vehicle did not try to stop in time to keep from rear ending a vehicle. The imminent crash warning would come on but the vehicle did not try to stop. This model is supposed to apply the brakes on its own to keep from rear ending someone but it did not apply brakes. If I hadn’t taken hard and immediate braking action we would have rear ended vehicles. The vehicle has an $5800. 00 option to brake in emergency situations. There have been at least 3 instances where the vehicle will not engage with lane keeping attempts while being on. This vehicle will also not notify the driver that the vehicle is leaving its lane even though it has lane keeping technology options turned on and purchased.

2 Warning problem of the 2022 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 10/11/2022

The Audi lane assist system persistently malfunctions and has done so since March 2022. The malfunctions cause the vehicle to pull towards the lane lines - and even outside of the lane lines - rather than keeping the vehicle within the lane lines as the system is intended to do. These lane assist malfunctions have occurred on busy highways, winding and narrow mountain roads, and wide lanes - all of which scenarios could cause serious accidents resulting in serious bodily injury or death. The vehicle has been at the dealership multiple times - and for over 36 days - without the defect being repaired. The dealer acknowledges that the lane assist system does not function properly in our vehicle and noted that this is not the only vehicle for which this system does not work properly.

3 Warning problem of the 2022 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 10/10/2022

The issues all relate to Audi's "pre-sense" system. On several occasions the car has either pulled hard and caused me to swerve - apparently incorrectly sensing that I am veering out of my lane - or has stopped suddenly - apparently incorrectly sensing that I was about to hit (or be hit by) something. These incidents have happened on the freeway, narrow mountain roads and side streets. All of these incidents could have caused serious serious bodily injury or death to persons and/or damage to property. I have been in touch with Audi numerous times and they have been unable to correct the issue.

The Audi lane assist persistently malfunctions and and cause the vehicle to pull towards the lane lines - and even outside of the lane lines - rather than keeping the vehicle within the lane lines as the system is intended to do. The lane assist malfunctions could cause an unintended collision with other vehicles, pedestrians, or other objects. On a winding mountain road, the lane assist malfunctions could pull the vehicle over the edge of a steep cliff, which could have catastrophic consequences.
