36 Suspension problem of the 2019 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 10/13/2023

Rear coil springs broke after just 60,000 miles. Audi refused to cover but dealer said this is very common. Vehicle stability affected. After my 42 years in automotive industry as a supplier my bet is these springs are made in china and supplier is cheating on material specifications and Audi must know.

37 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 09/22/2023

I brought in my car to Audi of peabody for routine service at approximately 62,000 miles. I was told both rear coil springs were broken. The car, purchased new in July 2017 has been routinely serviced at the dealership. There were no warnings on the vehicle. The dealer said this is a common failure for the Q7 and not covered by warranty or recalls. Checking user message boards of other owners with Audi Q7, apparently this is very common and seems potentially to be a faulty component. I have owned many vehicles for extended periods of time (more than 7 years each) and this is the first car that I'm told is a common failure. Sudden suspension failure appears to be a safety hazard.

38 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 09/13/2023

Rear passenger side coil spring broke with no reason during normal driving at about 80,000 mi. Audi said it is aware of issues with coil springs, but since there is no recall, I would have to pay $1997. 04. I think it is unacceptable and there is manufacturing defect and they should correct it for free.

39 Suspension problem of the 2018 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 08/15/2023

Just had the vehicle in for the it’s 60k mile service and no issues reported. Today, at 63k miles I had the same dealer look at a headlight malfunction and the service technician reported the rear coil springs are failing and need replaced.

40 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 07/24/2023

Took 2017 Q7 to dealer to check brakes. Dealer found both rear coil springs broken. Will cost $2k to replace. Searching internet I find many examples of this same safety related failure. The vw atlas with the same frame does have a recall for this issue. Why is the Audi not included. I have the inspection video and will attempt to add here. Https://video. 37483. 41 Suspension problem of the 2018 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 07/15/2023

Both rear springs broke at 70000 miles.

42 Suspension problem of the 2019 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 07/13/2023

At 50k miles, in July 2023, I was told by the dealer, Audi, that the rear spring mounts were corroding, and it was not covered by warranty. Everything I have read about spring mounts is that they are not considered a wear and tear part, and should not deteriorate. But I paid about $2,000 for the repair. Now, 11 months later, one spring coil itself has broken, and despite the warranty since it was last replaced less than a year ago, Audi will not honor the warranty at all, because it was the spring mounts and not the springs themselves that were replaced. However, it is the same job to repair, and so I am forced to pay for the same amount of labor again. This seems criminal given the parts are interdependent and the job takes an equal amount of time. I don’t understand why the coils weren’t replaced initially, as I now have to pay for the project to essentially be redone. Yes, it is a safety issue. Was not inspected by police but it was by the manufacturer. There haven’t been any warning indicators in the vehicle.

43 Suspension problem of the 2019 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 07/07/2023

2019 Audi Q7 rear spring broke despite having only 28,000 miles. I heard a loud banging noise when driving on highway which I initially thought was a loose exhaust pipe. Took it to a service center which diagnosed a broken rear spring with high risk of tire puncture. Never driven off road or with heavy loads (heaviest thing in trunk has been my 50 lb dog). Vehicle was only 3 months out of 36 month warranty when this happened. Local Audi dealer and Audi USA failed to stand behind this repair which cost me over $2000 to fix at an independent garage. Online search noted other Audi Q7 with similar problems.

44 Suspension problem of the 2018 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 06/02/2023

Passenger side rear spring broke near the base on a 2018 Q7 with 66k miles. From looking online, this is a common problem with this model/year. Vwofa issued a recall for rear springs for the same year of the vw atlas, a car that shares the same platform with the Q7, so they know there's a problem. Looking online, many people are having this issue, and it costs, $2400 to replace the springs.

45 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 05/14/2023

2017 Audi Q7. Both rear coil springs are broken. The car is garage kept with 45000 miles.

46 Suspension problem of the 2019 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 04/17/2023

Rear passenger side coil spring failed during vehicle operation. Vehicle has only 61,000 miles and has never seen any heavy duty including trailering anything.

47 Suspension problem of the 2018 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 12/31/2022

This vehicle was maintained by Audi/vw for 60000 miles under a service contract. While changing my snow tires I noticed the spring was broken. My wife did claim she heard a rattling in the back of the car, this must have been it. I’ve found multiple complaints from different owners on car online forums claiming they found the same spring, the right rear, unexpectedly broken. A suspension failure can have devastating results especially with a 7400 pound towing capacity.

48 Suspension problem of the 2014 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 12/27/2022

We have a 2014 Audi Q7 with 60k mileage that we serviced and maintained by hoffman Audi all the time. On December 27th, while on the freeway, the engine was shut down without any prior alert, with a lot of smoke and oil leakage. With our minimal knowledge, it appears the gasket was frozen, causing the coolant to leak into the engine's unwanted part and damage it completely. This is a manufacturing and poor-quality Audi product that could have risked the life of the passengers on board. We filed a complaint to Audi USA with no response, and insurance declined. We need your kind attention to help us in finding a way to fix the issue as why did hoffman service center never figure out the issue, if there was one, and why did Audi not give any alert before such a disaster took place that will cost us >24k to fix a $35k car.

50 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 12/01/2022

Both rear coil springs were found rusted and broken by Audi dealer and need to be replaced. Car shouldn't be driven since both broken coil springs are just resting on the lower control arms. Quoted $2,171. 05 before tax and shop fees.

51 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 11/21/2022

I was driving down a well paved road obeying the speed limit of 35mph when a loud bang startled me. There was nothing in the road, and I checked my rear view mirror to confirm and there was nothing in the road. The car started handling a little differently. I brought it to the dealership and they told me both rear springs had broken. The vehicle only had about 70k miles on it. It could have severely affected the car's driving and could have put driver, passenger or other cars in jeopardy. There were no warnings at all.

52 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 08/19/2022

Both rear suspension springs broke at approximately the same spot. I am not sure when they failed. I do recall when I was driving at about 15mph in August I heard a loud bang and checked the outside of my car to see if maybe something had hit my car. You cannot see the suspension springs when you look under the car. When I had my annual nys safety inspection the mechanic showed me the broken springs and I failed inspection until I obtained new springs and mounting plates. Audi service (new rochelle NY) informed me that it was unsafe to drive the car until the springs were replaced. I had the springs replaced by mavis tire center. The springs that failed were inspected by Audi and mavis tires after they failed and I have the parts if an inspection is required.

53 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 08/06/2022

My SUV has 40073 miles. During a dealer inspection it was found that its rear passenger side coil spring broken and damaged upper-lower spring mounts. It is going to cost about $2000. Also did some internet search that this has happened to others. The SUV being at lower mileage, I feel that this part is defective and safety issue, and Audi should correct the situation. . 54 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 03/18/2022

After coming to a park after driving, a loud bang noise was heard from the rear of the vehicle. It was not an impact with another vehicle. When I got home I took off the rear right wheel and found that the lower part of the coil spring had sheared and broken. It looks like some corrosion was inside the metal. I called my Audi dealer service and he had not heard of anything like that happening.

55 Suspension problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 09/13/2019

After 10k miles we started noticing abnormal wear on the outside of the tires. I have the 18" goodyear runflat tires. The tires are chunking severely posing a serious safety concern for my family. Audi has a TSB for the same condition on the 20" tire. I do not know why the do not cover the same condition on the 18" tire??.

Adaptive cruise and speed control were intermittently operating eventually resulting in a defective system. No resolution at this time.
