Air Bag Problems of Audi TT

Driving on my commute to work. Airbag and passenger seat recognition light came on. Error on my car screen says safety system malfunction. Undetermined if it’s both the driver and or passenger seat. Safety at risk should there be an accident and airbag not deployed. Warning lights have been on since September 1, 2025. It comes on and off at random times. 3rd party auto repair confirmed service codes indicates it is a system failure.

The trim on both sides of the front seats is loose and broken, I am concerned that the airbag won't deploy properly if not addressed by Audi. The dealership wants $2700 to fix this issue. I have contacted Audi customer care and they have advised that it is customer pay due to being outside the warranty period.

Driver (lhs) and passanger (rhs) seat are exposing air bags and I am worried that they may deploy picture of drivers side seat attached.

Failure of the "air bag control module" on our 2001 Audi Tt. This failure , if not repaired, will lead to the air bag system on the car not working Audi refuses to help with the repair, which is over $1000. We feel this safety issue should be repaired by Audi.
