Air Bag Light On problems of the 2000 BMW 323

Five problems related to air bag light on have been reported for the 2000 BMW 323. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2000 BMW 323ci. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 17v047000 (air bags). BMW of louisville (2200 blankenbaker pkwy, louisville, ky 40299, (502) 287-1501) was contacted and diagnosed that both air bags needed to be replaced; however, the dealer only repaired the passenger side air bag. After the repair, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The dealer was contacted again and stated that they would inspect the vehicle. The contact was notified that the dealer ran a code and simply turned the warning indicator off, which was why the failure recurred soon after it was reset. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the remedy for the recall was performed. The contact was transferred to the customer service line and then left on hold. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 317,000.

2 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2012

Tl- the contact owns a 2000 BMW 323i. The contact stated that as soon as the vehicle is started the air bag light is illuminated. The vehicle was taken to BMW where the air bag was replaced under recall 14v428000, however the problem recurred. The manufacturer was made aware if the failure. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 29,920. Kh.

3 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2003

Consistent problem with the "check air bag light. " dealer had replaced one sensor under the driver's seat/one sensor on the dashboard, and re-attached the wiring system.

4 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/28/1999

Airbag light permanently illuminated - dealer replaced right front seat belt tensioner to fix?!.

5 Air Bag Light On problem

Airbag light stays illuminated while the vehicle is in motion. The dealer has inspected and repaired vehicle several times, and the problem still exists.
