On Tuesday June 20, 2023 at 7:20am I was awakened by my neighbor who informed me that my car was on fire. A report was done by the fire department and they did not believe it was done on purpose but something with my car. My car was totally consumed with fire nothing but ashes.
On Wednesday, seotember 26 2018 - my car had been parked outside since Friday, sept 21. It had rained a great deal that weekend. At 1:00 in the afternoon, I went to get in the car and the windows were black from the inside. I had been smelling a strange electircal bruning smell all day. I did not open the door. I called the fire department. They arrived and investigated. The inside of the car on the drivers side dash was completely melted and the dash was still on fire inside. The pillar airbag had exploded and melted and had spewed plastic on the front seats. The upper driver side corner area of the windsheild was broken from the inside as though something had cataplulted into it from below. The pillar bag inflator was found on the floor of the car and was burnt in the bottom. The driver door panel had deployed. The car was a total loss.

Locks occupants in car and cannot electrically or mechanically unlock. Many BMW operators have reported this problem on internet but no recall exists for dealerships to repair/replace. Happens when vehicle is in motion or stationary, on a city street or highway, turning or anytime the system locks the doors trapping occupants.
Can not unlock car in any way. The relays in the gm5 module which give power to the actuators become weak and can not open car. Car can not be opened with car key as key hole is also electronic. In the end I cant get inside the car.
While driving our car the dash lights will come on and the car will loose all power. We have to pull over and turn car off wait a minute with key completely out of the ignition and restart the car then all lights are off and car is completely drivable. This happens multiple times a day no matter what speed is being driven. Also within the same month the locks will not unlock when car is stopped and shut off or by the power button inside the car. As well as our 4 way indicator which is on same switch as the power lock button no longer works.

Abs, brake lights warning indicator constantly on. Possible dsc inop. Potential crash issue. Original owner with approx. $13,000 in maintenance and repair receipts. 95k miles on car. No notification/recall from BMW.
After completing a trip of approximately 25 miles coming into a parking spot and bringing vehicle to a stop the vehicle was shut off. Driver was able to egress out of vehicle without issue, passenger door was unable to be opened. Door remained locked with seemingly no mechanical link to door latch. Driver attempted to open door from outside, also unable to do so. Passenger had to egress vehicle through drivers door, passenger door unable to open despite repeated use of unlock button on center console and unlock feature on keyless entry. Automatic locking on drive off locked doors, occupants were unable to unlock or open door by any means.
None of the passenger locks open, automatically or manually. This is a serious safety hazard if there is an accident or fire. No one can get out.
Right rear turn-signal lights operate intermittently--sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I almost got hit by another car from behind when I was changing lanes on the freeway.
BMW north America sent out a recall letter dated December 2011 for the rear lights on their 3 series cars. They advised consumers that they should go to their local dealers for recall repairs and that they would be eligible for reimbursement for repairs already completed and paid for. I heard nothing further from BMW until I wrote to their new ceo for north America, mr. Willisch, asking what I should do to get them to take action on their recall. He had his secretary call me and ask me to fax the receipts for the repairs to her, which I did. I heard nothing further for several weeks until I called again. She then called me back and said I should be hearing something from BMW soon. The next day I received a check from princeton BMW for the cost of one repair to the rear lights. However, I faxed receipts for 2 repairs to the right rear lights and 1 repair to the left rear lights. To date I have heard nothing further from BMW about reimbursing me for the other 2 repairs. . How can you help me get reimbursed for the other 2 repairs to my 3 series car?.
Recall summary BMW is recalling certain model year 2002-2005 325i, 325xi, 330i, and 330xi vehicles manufactured from September 1, 2001, through March 1, 2005. Over time, resistance in the electrical contacts may cause one or more rear lamp functions (tail light, brake light, and/or turn-signal), within the vehicle's body panel, to stop working. Consequence intermittent light operation reduces the ability to warn other motorists of the driver's intentions. This could cause a vehicle crash without warning. Remedy BMW will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin during October 2011. Owners may contact BMW customer relations and services at 1-800-525-7417. . Read more...
About 3 months ago noted my tail/turn signal light out indicator on dash, but all bulbs were good. Problem intermittent at first, but then became constant on left light indicator. Went on BMW internet forum and found this is a common problem to 3-series ascribed to ground not good enough, buring pin/port on connector. Indeed this is what happened on the left side of the tail light housing/connector. I spliced another ground wire to the original and connected to the housing as described in the online forum and seems to work for now, but I feel not having an operable turn signal on the rear of the car could be dangerous.
I have a 2003 BMW 325xi but there isnt a 2003 year to enter for some reason. Both tail lights and both headlights have gone out multiple times. Hazard light and main lock next to hazard light button have gone out completely, dash warning light have also gone out but have since been fixed with fuses.

Car was driven approximately 50 miles and parked in a restaurant parking lot. Weather was wet and rainy, the defroster was running on the car for most of the trip. After sitting 25-30 minutes a resident near the restaurant called to notify that the car was on fire. Employees of the restaurant attempted to put out the fire with hand held extinguisher but was unable to completely do so. Emergency personnel showed up on the scene a short time later to unpower the car and put out the flame. Police and fire teams were on the scene. The fire seems to have originated from the auxiliary a/c fan in front of the condenser as that is where the heaviest damage is.
Nhtsa campaign id number 11v438000 did name include us specification Bmws made outside the us. This is for a potential fire hazard or possible rear end accident due to a known failure in the terminal block on the tail lights.
Headlights came on for brake, abs, traction, etc. And car went dead. Dealership technician performed battery and draw test. No draws were found so battery was deemed failed. Replaced battery.
A/c system when engaged made a lot of noise. Dealership technician checked and found noise coming from a/c compressor. Replaced compressor.
From day one , I already experieced a problem with the car, at first the headlights flickering, shelly BMW took care of it for over a week , they said there is a electrical problem that they had to change the computer, after a couple of days, the alarm goes off while driving ,I took the car to cunningham BMW because I livedhere in san diego it took them almost a week but they never fixed the problem they're saying that theyneed more time to figure what really the problem and what causing the alarm siren goes off while driving . I took it to different BMW dealer to san diego BMW, after two days same problem occured alarm siren goes off every 4 minutes of driving. Next problem is the brake light comnes on , they changed the brakepad and rotor, they kept the car for three , then a day after the dsc light comes on , the eml light comes on , the brake light comes on, and the car have no power not responding, its feel like theres some blocking on the wheel when I accelerate, so I took it again to the dealer , they kept it for three days, the day after the engine service light comes on steady . I am very frustrated and disappointed with the performance of this car and yet it's not even a year since I bought this car. Presently the car has 34,000 milage. It has 20,000 milage when I first bought it.
The seat belt latch triggered the air bag default and the air bag had become inoperative. The service check failed to correct the problem. Even though the system was cleared, default/inoperative air bag occurred with the next seat belt latch. (model 325xi).
Final stage unit (aka blower motor resistor) keeps failing and shorting out internally causing engine malfunctions and related obd2 warnings as well as battery drain. I have replaced this part 5 times and 2 times in the last 6 months.
