Horn Assembly problems of the 2006 BMW 325

Two problems related to horn assembly have been reported for the 2006 BMW 325. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2018

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 BMW 325i. The contact received a recall notification of NHTSA campaign number:17v-676000 (electrical system). The contact took the vehicle the dealer south bay BMW 18800 hawthorne blvd, torrance, CA 90504 and the vehicle was repaired. The after the contact picked up the vehicle it overheated travelling at 15 mph before coming to a stop. The indicator light came on so the contact turned off the vehicle and the contact towed it back to the dealer. A loaner vehicle was given. The manufacturer was contacted stated that the part may be available and they will perform diagnostics. The failure mileage was 90,000. Tf.

2 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 10/29/2006

: the contact stated the vehicle was broadsided while parked and the horn did not work to warn the other driver. The engine was not on prior to the incident. No injuries were sustained and a police report was taken. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that it was normal for the horn not to work if the engine was not on. The vehicle was currently at another dealer for repairs. Updated 12/15/06.
