Headlights. Fire hazard because of brittle and bare wiring inside of headlight housing. Confirmation is as simple as looking inside of headlight to change a bulb. The vehicle does not set any codes to make you aware of wiring issue.

Headlight wiring harness sleeves have rotted, the exposed copper wiring can short inside the vehicle causing a spark, prolonged contact between bare wires will generate heat capable of melting the headlight unit and plastic components around it.
The fotwell modules on these cars are defective. . There was an extended waraanty covering this to replace the defective frm(or footwell module)but it does not include this car. . The car's headlights, brakelights, domelites stay on with car off, thus drainig the battery. The car then lacks power and can shut off even when driving causing a serious accident. In this model car, these are fmr2 modules that can't be rebuilt. BMW 328i has a supeceeded part and I called them and they wont cover the cost or honor the warranty for this car. Thus I am submitting this as I heard several other BMW onwners with similar models have experienced defective footwell modules. . I strongly feel my car should be included as a recall or extended warranty on this part. You cannot replace it as BMW parts no longer carries it, thus how to you get this car to run with the battery draining with lights on?? this poses a danger if vehicle stalls with battery voltage declining as car will no longer run,,even when driving.

The headlights, blinker lights, dash lights, interior lights, and power to the windows doesn't work. From my research online it is because of the footwell (frm) module going bad. The issue just started once I started the vehicle and nothing worked when it did prior to parking.

Headlights are pointing up to the sky instead of straight forward after hitting a bump in the road while driving. This happens often.
Headlight wiring loom insulation on wires are cracking and splitting exposing bare wires on both headlights.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 BMW 328i. While driving approximately 65 mph in the dark, the headlights intermittently illuminated. Also, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. Upon opening the trunk, the contact noticed that the trunk light was burned out and a strong burning odor was present. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 17v676000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 108,237.

Left turn bulb socket burned out, damaging the headlight.
Visibility is poor with the halogen headlights. Very frequently I do not see people or animals in the road until I am very close to them. This causes either a hard stop or swerving to avoid a collision. We have another BMW with the xeon headlights and the visibility is excellent. These halogen lights are dangerous. The link below is from the iihs in 2016. Rates the halogen lights as the worst in its class. . Read more...
Plastic insulation has cracked and peeled on all wiring inside my front headlight housings. Exposed wiring creates a potential short circuit and fire hazard.
The halogen lamped headlights will not support driving more that 35 mph.

While driving back from gulf shores alabama my headlights started flickering on and off while driving on the highway the power went off on the radio lights on the dashboard went off the steering wheel locked up and an sos button came on. The windshield wipers stopped and it was torrential rains and total darkness on interstate 75. When I could see well enough to get over to the brim I googled the codes that were flashing and was given further instruction on how to get my car started again. The headlights flickering on and off and visibility ( with the rain ) was impossible. Several various codes continued to pop up and this happened until we arrivd at our destination. It was if the whole computer board had gone haywire . Every code imaginable came on and we had to stop to figure out what to do to get the car going. Since then my BMW will not start unless the battery is charged. It says battery discharging or battery was disconnected so I have to keep battery cables with me at all times. So last night I'm having the airbag code come on which I do have a recall on that, as well. I have taken several pictures of the various codes involved which I will attach.

Front headlight assembly's, both right and left, the wiring insulation is falling off of all the headlight wires thus leaving an array of completely exposed copper wiring. Upon reading in the bimmer computer forum this is a common happening in most ~ 2000 vintage BMW's. BMW's response is this is normal wear and tear and blamed on florida weather even though this doesn't exist in other auto model's.
One of the rear ride height sensors controlling the adaptive xenon headlights failed (bolt broke). This caused the headlights to aim down at the limit of their adjustment, effectively giving the driver only 20 or so feet of visibility at night. We had to use the high beams to get any reasonably visibility to drive safely.
Crash - no injuries. Xenon headlights of a 328i 2000 BMW. Low flat beam noted to be a problem - I came up upon four vertical sticks in the center of the road, a rural 2 lane country road, on a dark night. When I was approximately 150 feet from them, the light reflecting from the road, illuminated the underside of a deer. Luckily I had slowed enough that I was able to stop in time. I asked the BMW dealership about this problem ,and was told that the lights should not be raised because the xenon lights would blind oncoming drivers, and they were at the correct height. One year later, my son was driving on a residential street, and hit a parked pickup truck. Conditions - night, recent snow plowed streets caused the pickup to park a foot and a half from the curb. The truck was a dark green four wheel drive, farm pickup (high bumper)(mid bumper measures 27" off pavement). My daughter was a passenger in the right front seat. Neither seen the pickup until the last second. My daughter spotted it first and screamed. My son looked over at her and looked back just as they hit it. I do not believe he even hit the brakes. However, he started to swerve to the left. The bumper of the car went under the bumper of the truck , hitting only the truck's spare tire and driver side rear wheel. The truck's bumper did hit the radiator and valve cover of the engine. The BMW was totaled - the right shock tower was moved back by about 5 inches. The airbags never went off - dealership states that is because, "the bumpers did not hit". The truck had minimal damage - bent bumper, truck bed was elevated and did dent the back of the cab/drivers side. I believe that the xenon lights probably did not illuminate the parked truck adequately because they did not shine high enough. Has this been a problem for other drivers of Bmws and mercedes.
