I received dashboard warnings that my left rear brake light and turn signal were not working. This warnings were intermittent. I changed the bulbs, but that did not fix the problem. I then looked and the connector to the light housing and saw that pin #3 had melted/corroded. I did some research and found that this is a common problem for this car, and that on a previous model year, there was a recall . This problem is caused by a design defect and is a safety hazard and should be fixed by BMW. The consumer cost is in the high hundreds of dollars. There is a service bulletin that describes the problem https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2017/mc-10136736-9999. Pdf.

Footwell module failed. This is a known issue by BMW. Device controls accessory lighting, central locking system, turn signals, and power windows. BMW si b01 20 16 released extending warranty on frm to 10 years, 152000 miles. Frm on my vehicle failed at 195,000. Total replacement cost was $1,000.
The right drivers side turn signal was blinking at twice the normal rate while driving. The was also a warning light that came on occasionally when starting the car. I took it in to our mechanic who specializes in german made cars and he found that the wiring to the light bulb socket was melted. He suggested we look for a recall because he thought it was such a safety hazard but there is none listed.

My 2015 BMW 328i x drive left turn signal and left brake have malfunctioned since I bought the car. The same thing happen in my mother's BMW 328 series as well and a recall was open. There is a open recall on the brake light and turn signals but not for my actual vehicle. I have replaced the bulbs so I know it is something electrical. BMW refuses to fix the problem although it is a known recall! I am very disappointed, and just want my light panel repaired as this is a safety issue by BMW manufacturers not the owner.

My 2015 BMW 328i left turn signal and left brake have malfunctioned for some months now. I have replaced the bulbs and its not working. I know it has to be some electrical problem. There are many know issue like mine but there is not a recall for my model BMW.
Purchased a 2011 BMW 328i used it came with extended warranty the first issue I had was in my foot well module I came in from work parked car in drive way woke up the next morning to no headlights turn signals and car would not start I contacted BMW because there was a recall on the foot well module took car in to get everything checked out BMW replaced foot well module said everything was ok drove car home thinking everything was ok parked car woke up the next morning car was completely dead no power so I took battery to get tested and had to replace the battery also the battery terminal cause saftey terminal went off from there I replaced everything that was needed car has power but will not crank had it diagnostics said it was relay replaced all the relays in the car no start same issue had the crank position sensor replaced still no start battery good looked online to see that the frm could cause electrical issues which is clearly the issue but all problems to this point got worse since module was replaced by BMW dealership and diagnostics by them stating everything was ok. Ive literally exhausted my options of buying and replacing parts and the problem persist when I contacted BMW about the recall on the electrical problems with the foot well module instead of them just replacing a module and saying my electrical was ok when it clearly was not.

Rear left brake light and turn signal stopped working. I have checked and found out that the ground wire on the connector has over heated and broken.
Both front headlamp assembly's have had to be replace three times due to the bulbs melting their bases - this includes melting of both turn signals bulbs. The cost to replace a single front headlamp assembly is $990, $1,980 for both, times three times. . . . This is unbelievable and is a big problem with BMW 3 series cars.

Footwell module failure caused the turn signals, interior lights, power windows to fail to operate. The failure occurred when a mechanic tried to run diagnostics on the vehicle during routine service.
When tire pressure management system begins to fail, its rdc module takes down the complete dashboard monitoring and operational systems. Upon failure, the rdc affects speedometer, tachometer, radio, blower, wipers, idrive systems. Driver has no indicators of turn signals or lighting (even if functional) within the cabin of the car. This occurred in driving sequence as first a series of flashes and idrive restarts, then complete blanking out of all dashboard systems. Upon advisement of repair tech, simple unplug of rdc clears all dashboard symptoms except tpms malfunction indicator. A car should not simply have a complete electronic monitoring and operational (radio, blower, turn indicators, wipers) failure due to one monitoring system going down -- this is a design flaw and could have led to me having an accident easily due to no turn or speed indicators available.

Vehicle was purchased used from dealer with faulty right rear turn signal. Upon researching, there is a TSB on this issue and models built prior to mine were the subject of a recall. This is a recurring issue on this model and it is affecting vehicles manufactured after BMW claims to have fixed the issue, resulting in undue hardship to owners. The replacement part, which BMW won't make available for purchase, has to be replaced by the dealer at a cost of over $500 on average.
On my wife's 2009 BMW 328i the rear right turn signal quit working, I researched it to find out that they have been several service bulletins out about the rear turn signals getting corrosion. I called the dealer and they stated it was out of warranty and they would not pay to fix it. They stated they knew the service bulletins were out but it was not a recall. After further searching I found out the older models had a recall to fix this issue. If they know they have an issue then why don't they fix it.
