Warning Light On problems of the 2003 BMW 330

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2003 BMW 330ci. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number: 15v318000 (air bags) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The contact received the notification in June of 2016. The dealer (BMW of el paso, 6318 montana Ave, el paso, TX, 79925) stated that the parts were unavailable for the repair, and that they would call when they had parts available for the vehicle. The manufacturer was not contacted or made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

2 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2014

The contact owns a 2003 BMW 330i. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic, who diagnosed the failure as an ignition circuit air bag indicator fault. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The failure mileage was 9,692 and the current mileage was 79,692.

3 Warning Light On problem

The contact owns a 2003 BMW 330xi. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the front passenger air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front passenger air bag needed to be replaced. 4 Warning Light On problem

The contact owns a 2003 BMW 3301. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Tl-the contact owns a BMW 2003 330 xi. The contact stated that when the front passenger seat was occupied ,the air bag off warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number:14v428000 (air bags) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000. Ss.

6 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2009

The contact owns a 2003 BMW 330-I. The contact stated that the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that the failure was caused by the air bags sensor. The vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred several times after the repair. The contact continued to take the vehicle to the dealer upon each recurrence but the contact was concerned because at every visit to the dealer, she was told a different component was causing the failure. The contact was not aware of each component that she was advised to have repaired. The dealer later denied any further service to the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 84,000.
