The contact owns a 2011 BMW 335i. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 mph the passenger side air bag light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but was now illuminated when ever he turned the vehicle on. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was not diagnosed. The contact had researched and related the failure to manufacturer technical service bulletin number: 10148018 - front passenger air bag seat occupancy sensor (oc3) mat (air bags). The contact was advised by the dealer and the manufacturer that his vehicle was not part of the VIN selection. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
- the component that has failed is the front passenger seat occupancy sensor, as indicated by an obdii scan showing fault code 93c3, seat-occupancy detector, passenger. - the safety of any person in the front passenger seat is compromised because the passenger airbag will not deploy while this sensor is not operating properly, as indicated by the "passenger airbag off" light which is now always illuminated. The vehicle has not been in an accident and nobody has been injured as a result. - the problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. - the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, etc. - there is a restraint system malfunction warning message stating "fault in passenger-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner, or belt-force limiter. Continue to wear the safety belt. Have the system checked by the nearest BMW center. " - I have contacted both my local BMW dealer (BMW seattle) and the BMW north America customer relations department and have been informed by both that there are no open recalls or technical service bulletins related to this sensor on my model/year and that the vehicle is out of warranty, so the financial responsibility to repair the vehicle is on me.

Takata. Resolution by closest BMW dealer, BMW of bellevue, washington, is indicating a may 2018 date for replacement. I feel that this is an inordinately extended time on top of the already long time for the replacement product.

Takata recall would like to know whats going with this recall. Its been over a year and still this issue hasent got reaolve.
Takata recall I have contacted two BMW retailers in my area asking to schedule an appointment to have my airbags replaced and both responses were "we don't have the part but will order it and call you back when ready to schedule the replacement". I haven't heard back from either and I contacted BMW mountain view over 9 months ago and BMW peter pan over 4 months ago. I am deeply concerned for the safety of me and my family since there is a known defect in the airbag that could be deployed in the case of an accident. I hope this never happens but the fact there is a known threat in my car which could be life threatening at any moment and there is no urgency to resolve this issue from BMW or the airbag manufacturer is very disappointing.
Driver's front airbag recall # 16v071 manufacturers still do not have parts or a solution to remedy this issue according to BMW dealerships BMW houston north and BMW the woodlands.
Takata recall. Mfgr campaign #: si b65 15 16. BMW 2011 335i coupe. I've contacted my local BMW service center and they claim they have no parts available. I received the first recall notice last March 2016, and when attempting to set up an appointment, they said they do not have parts. It's now over a year and BMW is claiming the same thing. My car is out of warranty so it's not a "money maker" for them anymore. I'm tired of being lied to. How can the airbag be fixed?.

Takata recall: I am still waiting for my recall to be fixed. I've read that they are fixing older models and those in high humidity first, but find it interesting that I received a notice to fix the recall on the 2013 leased BMW before my 2011 owned BMW. I live in FL and though I got the notice for the lease, I had already turned the lease back in and was no longer in possession of it. Now over a year later since the the beginning of the recall and still no replacement piece for my recall on an older model in high humidity. I turned in the lease in July of 2016 and got the notice about a week after turning it in and now 7 months after that and still no news on when my recall will be dealt with. Some information would be nice to owners still waiting for recalls.
I have a passenger restraint system fault affecting airbag, belt tensioner.
I purchased my car with the confidence that I was purchasing a superior product to my disappointment when I went to sale this vehicle I was given less for the sale of my car due to this recall I could not get the airbag replaced so I was given less for my car due to this recall my damages are $3000. 00 I would like this difference refunded back to me. This is not my fault this is solely the fault of the inferior product I have not contacted an attorney as of yet but if I am not made whole then I will have no other choice but to contact an attorney due to my loss. Thank you, gene gruver.
This recall came out in Feb 2016 and the estimated resolution is "beginning of 2017" my vehicle requires shipment to the uk and the shipping company won't do it unless the recall is complete or I receive a letter saying it's safe to ship, which BMW won't provide, but it's safe enough for me to drive for 9 months?.
Takata recall - I live in zone a/1; I was notified about the recall in cy2016. BMW cannot provide any information about when my car will be made safe again. Now takata is bankrupt. How can I force BMW to fix my car? note: 'when did this happen' date below is an estimate.
I received the recall notice 16v-071 in March 2016, and just checked with BMW and they still do not have the replacement parts. It is now sept 2016. Six months does not seem like a "reasonable period of time" to wait to fix a defective item that could fail "resulting in metal fragments striking the driver or other passengers potentially resulting in serious injury or death. ".
Takata recall-recall campaign no. 16v-071: driver¿s front air bag module I was recently sold a vehicle that has this recalled part and was not made aware of the recall until the day I went to pick up my vehicle. I was then told I couldnt take the car home and also I was not provided a loaner vehicle which by what I read on the BMW USA website should have been made available to me. Also after doing research I found out that this vehicle should not even have been made available for sale.
Takata recall: been waiting on parts since June 2016.

Ten months have passed and I have called BMW monthly and continue to be told the parts are not yet available and they are unable to provide a date when the parts will be available. Takata recall : since February dealer has been unable to supply part and cannot provide a date repair can be made. I live in hot humid climate and car remains outside. If I die it will be one in a long list of fatalities. Don't want to be a statistic.
