Takata recall the first complaint is that I am afraid to drive or allow anyone to drive a car with this airbag recall which has in some cases resulted in serious injuries or death. The car is thus parked in the garage while the dealer tells me they can't get the car in for repairs for 6 weeks at least which is unacceptable. Secondly, there are two additiona recalls that have no "fix" at this point which could also result in serious injury or death. I am at a loss for what to do with this vehicle. It is a hazard and completely useless for the purpose for which it was intended. The two additional recalls are both fire hazards and are not correctable at this juncture. This is unacceptable.
Both puget sound area dealers were totally indifferent about life treating recall notices, upon calling in in mid 2017' I was asked what recalls are you calling about and both did not give any in formation when I said I heard there was a recall. Nothing we can do to help you now check back later I was told. In November when I called back I was again greeted with surprise that that there was a recall at seattle dealership and asked me to be specific on a exact recall that maybe in effect. After giving exacte required detailed recall info on this life treating defective recalli was told they don't have any parts and to check back next year! where the hell is the washington state attorney general? this is a disgrace and BMW in my view should be spender from selling cars in washington state until they make this right. One death would cost far more than all the jerking around and bad will they are causing today! I'm writing this because I'm concerned about living ,and have no pictures to post. Can not allow how the government allows a major car company to get away with this, total disgrace!.
BMW continues to drag its feet on fixing recall. I have not been able to drive my vehicle for over 6 months now. Called dealer in charlotte nc (hendrick BMW on e. Independence boulevard) multiple times and each time they either do not have the part or need to order it.

The id light came on for passenger air. It said that passenger air bag was off. We took to BMW of roanoke to repair and state inspect the vehicle. They had to replace the passenger air bag mat at a cost of $ 1,433. 87 on invoice no. Bmcs56560. My concern is that if we were involved in accident the passenger air bag would have not worked and my wife could have been hurt or killed. I have the old part and could send it to you. The BMW only has 105,747 miles and was delivered per BMW of roanoke 12/24/2009. It is not no recall but maybe it should have been.
2 complaints: 1st complaint addresses "takata recall" dated Feb. 5, 2016 recall campaign no. 16v-071 driver's front air bag. Service center "otto's" in west chester, PA still has not received the parts going on 2yrs. * 2nd complaint engine shut off while driving (55mph) on a busy interstate highway during heavy traffic with no warning the engine just shut off- no power! . It was a humid summer (July) morning BMW fault could have killed many, a very dangerous public safety hazard. I was stranded for hours unable to drive BMW. *adding insult to injury the high humidity could have set-off the airbag fault unresolved by BMW 18 months & counting. Otto's service center wanted almost $4k to repair plus an additional hefty sum under advisement for repairs to repair the work they completed less than a year ago (>$3k) for engine leaking oil - car over-heating.
Takata recall. The recall was issued in February 2016. It is now almost August 2017. 18 months for a safety recall is beyond reasonable to drive an unsafe vehicle.
2002 BMW 3 Series. Consumer writes in regards to airbag safety recall. The consumer stated the vehicle was repaired and requested information about any addtional recalls.

Takata recall - received safety recall notice via mail 07-03-2017 that necessary parts to complete this recall were available but BMW dealership in birmingham, al stated parts were not available when I called to make a service appointment. The BMW rep told me to call back in a few weeks - parts might be available. I'm confused as to why I would receive this notice if parts were not available.

Takata recall BMW promised to replace defective air bag in 2016 late summer. But now it is January, 2017. They still haven't provided parts to get it fixed in a timely manner. I contact BMW customer service. They are just giving bs. There are 17 similar customers like me waiting for parts. BMW should not allow to sell any new cars in nc until we get the parts. Because all new car comes with new air bag. If they can sell new car, they should have air bag. So why not put the safety of existing customer in the highest priority?.
This is still not resolve and I am looking coolant and there is not answer other than to replace. It costing me to much to keep reviewing this issue , I think it should be done for free.
Takata recall. I have not been able to have the defective airbags removed. I call my local dealer and all they say is that the airbags are backorder. When they receive them they will call me. I have waited over one year and no answer.

Takata recall: a safety recall notice from BMW was issued in March of 2016. As of October 11th, 2016, BMW north America llc. Still can not provide an estimated time of repair or replacement. They have not remedied the situation at all and will not offer alternative methods to help customers with the potentially death causing airbag explosions. BMW north America llc is acting in bad faith, allowing and instructing their customers to continue driving their vehicles while being aware that they could cause death to the driver. (source - phone call with recall campaign escalation manager for BMW north America).
Spoke to BMW today they are now talking about the parts not coming in until 2017. They have no idea what month so I could still be over a year away from resolving this. I cant even sell the car or trade it in because they cant resale it without correcting the recall. Acura was paying for a loaner car until the recall was corrected I guess BMW feels its owners are more expendable??.
Takata recall I have contacted coggin BMW ft. Pierce FL. Several times to get my airbag fixed. Over a year now and still they claim that the parts have not come in yet. Is this true and what can I do to get this recall taken care of.

At approximately 4:45 p. M. Ct on Friday, September 30, 2016, I was driving my 1998 BMW m3 convertible home from work. I was on state highway 75 in tulsa, oklahoma, heading south. I don't have a specific recollection of my speed at that exact moment, but would estimate it to be in the area of 55-60 miles an hour, as there was some traffic, but it was not heavy. I was in the right-hand lane on a part of the highway where there is no curb. I did not swerve off the shoulder. Tulsa roads are notoriously bad, but this particular stretch of highway was repaved relatively recently. My passenger door airbag deployed spontaneously. I was not involved in a collision. I did not have a flat tire. BMW of north America has assured me that the airbag operated appropriately and there must have been some stimulus to cause its detonation. I struggle to accept that there was any stimulus at that speed that would cause detonation of just one airbag without causing some damage to the vehicle.
Takata recall. This complaint is due to the slow response of nalley BMW in decatur georgia to replace my airbag. I received my recall letter and immediately called the BMW dealer on sept 7th. I was told that parts were ordered and I would be called when they arrived. By sept 16th I had heard nothing and called again. Nalley said they had no record of my having ordered parts. I was transferred to the parts department where no one answered the phone. So I called BMW national customer relations. They said they would contact the dealer and have them get in touch with me directly. Nothing happened, so today visited the dealer personally to get the parts ordered. I was told it would take an additional two weeks to receive parts. This is unacceptible. My recall letter from BMW clearly states "we have the necessary parts to complete this recall," "please contact your authorized BMW center immediately to schedule an appointment to have this important free recall performed as soon as possible," and ". . . Metal fragments striking the driver or other passengers potentially resulting in serious injury or death. " BMW has built cars with shrapnel grenades instead of airbags and now they don't care about fixing it. BMW should not e allowed to sell another vehicle in the us until they have completed all of these critical recalls.
Takata recall: my local dealer still says they do not have the parts to service my car. I was notified last winter that my car was unsafe, and I still do not have the airbag fixed. I checked the recall site and it says interim parts are available but the dealer will not install them! when will this be complete. Am I driving a time bomb?.
I sent you my first complaint on or around August 10, 2016, and only received a 'thank you' return note, and that you would get back to me. You have not! to recapitulate the earlier complaint, I received recall campaign no. 15v-318 in July 2015, and have since not received anything from BMW. I called BMW customer relations around August 4, to find out the status of the airbag replacement. After getting no information from the first customer relations person, I was connected to a supervisor who also gave me no information. I asked when I could expect a airbag replacement - they told me 'probably before the end of the year'. I told them this was an unacceptable, dangerous situation, with the supervisor's response that 'nobody had died in a BMW of an airbag incident'. While it is good nobody has died, the response was less than acceptable. It is now a week later, August 18 - and still no further response from BMW or from the NHTSA. You guys have been working this - is it safe to drive my car or not? are you asking or working with BMW to resolve this? when can I expect a replacement airbag, or at least a response from BMW or the NHTSA? please get back to me - your in-action is not acceptable either. Sincerely, mark kerper m. Kerp@yahoo. Com.
Passenger seat mat is experiencing multiple failures which disables air bag deployment in the event of an accident. The exact issue for my year, model, and options automobile has been recalled, yet my 2006 BMW 325i with sport seats VIN was not included in the recal listed below. Nhtsa campaign number: 08v384000 I believe that my VIN should be included in the above NHTSA campaign recall number.

The contact owns a 2005 BMW 3 Series. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v318000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was unavailable.
I have phoned towson BMW on at least 2 occasions and requested the recall repair, but they state that I will have to wait for them to call me about it. This is a dangerous condition and should be fixed ASAP!.
Takata recall.
Takata recall. The airbag replacement has not been performed as of 04-25-16.
"takata recall"-we are the second owners of a BMW 325i series, 2002 and have not received any information about a defective takata airbag recall.
"tamara recall" - after calling my dealer to ask when my car will be taken care of I still have not been informed about when that will happen. I received my recall letter early last year. It seems to me as though someone is dragging their feet. Maybe your agency needs to light a fire under those involved in expediting this recall fulfillment.
My complaint is regarding the "takata recall". I purchased a 2006 BMW 325ci on July 10, 2015 from BMW of freeport, unbeknownst to me, with an open airbag recall. I believe that this dealership had a moral and a legal responsibility to inform me that this car could potentially result in seriously injuring or killing me. BMW did no such thing in informing me of this risk and sold me a car that is dangerous. It took them 8 months to send me an email (March 25, 2016) informing me of this recall that they had knowledge of prior to selling me this car in July 2015 this car should have been on a do not sale list. I consider BMW of freeport to be very negligent. BMW had knowledge that this recall would not be repaired in an expedient time frame. I am horrified that this dealer did not provide safeguards for public safety but instead cared more about financial gain. I visited the dealership a number of times and it seems that they have no foreseeable timeline in repairing this vehicle. I am requesting that BMW of freeport provide me a full refund for selling me a car that NHTSA has deemed to be a severe risk to public safety.
