On [xxx], the water pump's electrical plug connector became defective, ultimately putting myself and [xxx] son in a dangerous situation. While on the highway coming home from work/daycare, the car overheated rapidly, my car started slowing down in the middle of the highway. The car ultimately stopped and had to pull to the side. I tried to call 2 BMW dealerships in san jose, but at that time the recall remedy was unavailable and said there was nothing they could do for me. So I had to tow to my home. Towed to my mechanic the next day, and they had to fix it. The car was repaired after being in the shop for 1 week. I took the car home and shortly after, the car overheated again. Luckily, I was on my way home and in the neighborhood. This was a very traumatic experience that I never set foot in the care since then and am requesting a refund for the repair that wasn't even fixed in the first place. I do not want to use the car anymore given it is a huge safety risk for me and my son. I travel to the city 4 days a week for work and daycare. I have the receipts for repair. I found out my 2015 BMW 528i has a recall on the engine coolant pump, and it’s causing some serious issues. The pump can fail, leading to engine overheating, which could even result in a fire. The car’s performance has dropped, and there’s a risk the engine might shut down while driving. I’m stuck waiting for the parts to come in, which means the car’s out of commission for a while. On top of that, this recall is likely going to hurt the resale value, and I’ve had to figure out alternative transportation in the meantime.
Some wires within the steering wheel deteriorated causing my driver air bag to no longer be connected and my horn no longer works to alert other drivers.
This recall campaign begins Aug 2024. As of today 11-15-24, the dealership still stated, "remedy is unavailable". This is not acceptable. What should I do next?.
N/a complaint is that no remedy is available 8 months after recall issued. Currently this particular car is still drivable, but suffers oil leaks from this lack of repair. No local dealer or repair shops can fix ahead of the recall because they cannot get the repair bolts either. Eight months is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a manufacture repair.

Again I write about 2011 BMW 528i, the vanos bolts were recalled and when BMW was fixing them they showed a video , there was belt and metal pieces in the engine oil. Whoever had this car before me did fix the belt and other issues but they said they didn't take off the bottom of the engine pan for the oil to get out . . The vanos bolt recall when I looked it up was June 1st . I had BMW fix the missing bolts ?? June 7th it had to be towed there and back to my house. They said they made a decision that it did not happen because of the recall . Which it stated in the recall paperwork that it can affect the engine and to not drive it ! so as of today I have a BMW that was recalled and I do believe other recalls on this car as well had everything to do with me not having a car now because the engine misfiring and stalls and brake light and sensors are all no good. Does not add up . They refused to give a new engine because the car is worth way less than a new engine.

While driving in the toll of 130 my sunroof window busted out of nowhere. No 18 wheeler or big truck was in front that could have cause the glass to burst, when it happened it sounded like an explosion. Luckily my sunroof cover was closed shielding the inside of my vehicle otherwise it could’ve been bad for myself and my infants inside the car.
Do to the water pump recall and the water pump electrical connector on my vehicle, it is no longer in driving condition and has caused engine overheating and damage. I am still paying for a car I cannot drive. I need help.
The turbocharger wastegate actuator issues causing a drivetrain malfunction. The actuator has been changed several times ,that regulates the westgate yet there’s a loss in power. Safety when merging onto freeway as you accelerate the warning light comes on and vehicle losses power other vehicles have to slow significantly to avoid possible running into vehicle entering freeway.
Horn stopped working and error code says airbag error.
Driver side front door handle/actuator freezes in cold weather. Door will not open from inside or outside. This is a safety issue as it could trap a person inside. This seems to be a problem with the cables that connect the handles to the mechanism itself, not the actual door latch as it can be moved with fingers when the mechanism is frozen.
I noticed all of a sudden when I would turn my steering wheel it would make a clicking sound. Then none of my controls were working on the steering wheel. The horn wouldnt work none of the buttons and the air bag malfunction light was on. I researched and quite a few people had the same problem and I found out it was the ribbon wire inside the steering wheel had snapped and broke. The clock spring I guess might have failed or something. So now I have no horn or airbag and it's very dangerous. To ha e it replaced will be a few hundred dollars. This car just keeps having one problem after another. This seems like a really bad design and it is easily broken. I think they should recall this.
Upon purchasing the vehicle it was not serviced as supposed I have been calling only to be played around with this has been a nightmare I haven't made my 3rd payment and currently carless.
Adaptive headlight, turn signals, daytime/parking lamp and headlamp vehicle aim malfunctions. It is available for inspection. Hand signals are required due to the front signals inoperability. It is reason to be aware certain enviromental conditions can prevent hands signals and or other to see the signals. An inability to signal as vehicles are mandated to provide, potentially can be a dire situation for all involved. The actual subject company confirmed the issue upon inspection. Along with two independent mechanic shops. Inspected by manufacturer. There were not any pre-warning alerts. The notifications presented themselves upon the onset of malfunctions. At that point the damage was already embedded. My research uncovered BMW has allowed the defect to exist for over 10 years conservatively. Repairs can cost the BMW owner between $5000 to $10,000. I have not been able to find another manufacture's vehicle with the same issue. Therefore, this is malfeasance on the part of BMW.
I had been having problems with my seatbelt alarm coming on for a while with nothing in the seat of the passenger and then as I was trying to turn in to park I heard a click from my steering wheel as if it didn’t want to turn and the driver seat restraint malfunction error popped up . Now my horn will not work as well . I’m told that the dealership is the only place it can be repaired. I’m worried that it will deploy on me while driving . I’m sure this is an issue others have experienced as well .
My BMW suddenly started making a weird sound. I took it to BMW and they could not tell me exactly what happened. However they told me that a new engine was needed. I contacted headquarters and they referred me back to the local BMW. The local BMW said that there's no way for them to know what caused the engine problem but they were recommending a new engine. I had no choice but to purchase a new engine, still to this day I have not idea why the engine failed. I strongly believe its something they are failing to admit is wrong with their engine that causes problems.

Car caught on fire when the engine was off for 2. 5 hours. It happened while parked, in my apartment complex parking lot and no one was inside the car at the time.
Was at my fianc� grandads funeral Saturday 02/06/2021 and the car started acting strange immediately I heard strange noice coming from the front of the engine got a diagnosis and mechanic told me vvt issues got if fixed at a certified BMW tech and on his bulletin I seen the recall and he told me about this recall and that he gets many cars every week for this job he told me I would be reimbursed from BMW of north America I have all the recites for the labor and parts and I really need your help in getting this resolved.
Feels like the brakes on and it pulls to the passenger side where it feels like the wheel is going to come off and the passenger seat belt is locked where it won't extended out to buckle and the car dog walks back and forth while driving.
More and more people are complaining about this BMW transmission. They are very not reliable, my car won't go reverse or park. Investigating this will make BMW learn from how to make reliable car.
The shifter on the console will hang up get stuck often when I put it in reverse then from reverse to drive it won't shift all the way to drive it keeps stopping in neutral now while it's in neutral I can pull back on the shifter and hold it it will catch drive partially but u have to keep pulling back on the shifter and hold it but it doesn't go all the way in drive it's just on the front edge and if u let go of the shifter it drops back into neutral it's a safety hazard cause u cant go forward to get out of the way of other motorists especially in an emergency it takes a few minutes of pushing the shifter forward into park and then pulling the shifter back to drive after a couple minutes of doing this it will eventually go into drive and it seems to be getting worse at times and sometimes it won't even shift out of park without having to wiggle the shifter back and forth and then pulling the shifter back with twice the force that u would normally use to shift it out of park this has happened multiple times backing out of my driveway and directly onto a main road I live on and its happened in parking lots when trying to leave a restaurant or gas station etc.

When driving last week, we heard heavy clunking sounds. We took the car to a mechanic to investigate the noise, and he identified the the frame sway bar mount had sheered off where the sway bar to frame mount is. The mechanic asked if the car had been in an accident. We bought it used in 2012, and there was no report of an accident. Since we have had it, we haven't had an accident either.
On my morning commute on the highway (approx 70-75 mph) I heard a loud bang right on top of the car, as if a cinder block had been dropped straight from above. Shortly after I heard glass shards crumbling and then visibly saw the same immediately after. Once I parked, the sunroof had completely shattered. No evidence of fallen debris or external object was observed.
A catastrophic problem occurred with my BMW, a 2013 528i model, while I was driving on a busy expressway. A warning message indicated the oil pressure was low. As I attempted to navigate to the shoulder, another message stated there was a drive-train malfunction. The car proceeded to decelerate,. Shut down and the engine completely fail.
There are a few recalls for my car but wen I put in my VIN to search ,it says 0 recalls but I seen online that there are many recalls.
The throttle is messing up. . It keeps stopping and then I turn my car off and start it again then it works. It happened on a busy street and I had my 3 kids with me.

Defective drive train - on March 11, 2019 my drive train malfunction and which damage my engine. This is an safety concern because my car stop on the freeway while I was driving. BMW mfg knew about the defective drive train prior to me purchasing car from fields BMW on July 2013. BMW north America offer to pay 21,000 for the engine replacement and they want me to pay 6,000. 00 and I feel BMW know about the faulty design in 2012 and did not inform the consumer. When I purchase the car, it had 18,000 miles on it and I put 62,000. 00.
Drivers door lock is failing at only 40,000 miles. We first noticed this problem when we would lock the car from the key fob and noticed the door wouldn't lock, even though the car would beep and the security system would activate. Then, if you went to open the door after you locked the car, the alarm would go off because it wasn't actually locked. When you're inside the car, you can see the door lock pin slowly trying to move down or up into the locked or unlocked position. Sometimes it would make it into the desired position, other times it would stop about half way. After a few moths of this, it's more often that not the lock doesn't work correctly.
