Tl- the contact owns a 2006 BMW 535xi. The contact stated that the brake light assembly shorted out. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and all three rear brake lights have been changed and rear driver side reverse and both turn signals in the rear. The contact stated she did research and found that the cause of the problem was that the drainage from the sunroof drains into the light and the electrical assembly is effected. The contact also stated that her doors on the vehicle appear to close and latched bu inadvertantly open. The contact was informed of a recall for NHTSA campaign id number: 12v504000 (latches/locks/linkages:doors:latch) but was informed it only affected the 2007 model. The vehicle had not been repaired for either problem. The failure and current mileage was 82,000. Dt.
