I went outside and started my car, locked it and came back inside to grab a few things. Approximately five minutes later someone was banging on my door and ringing the doorbell. When I answered they said they had already call the fire department. My car's engine compartment was engulfed in flames and undercarriage covers were also burning. The rear bumper and light assemblies were melting. The doors were stuck windshield exploded and srs systems had activated. Fire department said it was electrical fire. Usaa said it is a total loss and the electrical fire was in the engine compartment. My vehicle was parked on the street in front of my house and been driven the evening before and parked in front of my house. I have plenty of pictures.

On [xxx], while driving on a busy boulevard in wilmington, delaware, my 2020 BMW 750i suddenly lost all power (engine and electrical) without any warning. The vehicle completely shut down in traffic, creating an extremely dangerous situation. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. I called BMW roadside assistance for help but was informed that because my warranty had just expired, they canceled the tow truck that was already en route and turned it away. This left me stranded in a live traffic lane until I could arrange my own tow service from geico. I called wilmington police for assistance and eventually had to run a couple of blocks to flag down a police vehicle that arrived and dropped several flares behind my vehicle. The vehicle was later inspected at union park BMW (wilmington, DE), where the technician stated that the failure was due to a defective cell in the main battery. This experience has made me very nervous to drive the car again, as a total loss of power without warning could lead to a collision or injury. I believe this represents a serious safety defect in the vehicle’s electrical or battery system and should be investigated. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

[xxx] my car called fire I have a BMW seven series 750 li apparently there was a cooling pump that BMW put on the car that calls us fires. BMW did a recall on these cooling pumps, but they did not add all the numbers to the recall, even though my car had, the actual coolant pump that caused fires my question is why was my VIN number that out of the recall if I had the faulty pump on my car, I would like for number to be added to the recall information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The check engine light stays on because of the defective wire harness. It was made of very low quality and I feel strongly this is a major safety defect and needs to be rectified. Nhtsa should initiate a vehicle recall because of this.

I had my car towed to BMW of west springfield MA, to get car initially overhaul and completely fixed I understand that are six underlying recalls airbags, odb communications, brakes, electrical, door latches, after calling and letting them know my car was on its way, I requested a courtesy call and no was given I call two days later to be told my car wasn’t on the lot, then to be called back hours later to be told they could not find key to my vehicle, also they tried to make me pay for the lost key in which they lost, they still refuse to fix the recall and are requesting me get it towed out at there expense the recalls can only be fixed by BMW, also massachusetts and federal law requires them to be fixed, so therefore the car cannot leave the lot until recall is fixed.

1) the electrical section of the dashboard for speed, checking gas levels etc. Is no longer visible. It is available for inspection! 2) for the obvious reason: unable to determine all safety measures such as speed, driving safety such as gas level, warning signals etc. ! 3) the problem was the result of numerous visits to the dealership regarding the rain leaking into the car. Which they said they were unable to find a leak or leaks. Advised the of possible recall car latch issues where the water leaks into the car via trunk etc. They finally realized their error. But failed to repair. Said it was a recall issue. 4) as mentioned. . . Has been inspected numerous times by the dealership in willoughby, OH! 5) of course there were warning signs that there was a problem or would eventually be a problem when water starts getting into your car: when it shouldn't (doors closed, windows up sunroof closed etc. However, as I said previously, the dealership inspected the car enough times to find what the problem was and avoid the damage cause: (unless it is/was an issue that warrant a recall of the car's sealing, sunroof, latch etc. That was deffective!!! note: the dealership indicated that the water was getting in to the car, but couldn't stop it from getting in didn't have the knowledge to fix? wouldn't that be a recall matter? my safety & others is at stake if you don't take responsibility of a defect in this BMW.

I purchased this car in June of 2019. I received a carfax report before the purchase. The car was very clean inside and outside. I was pleased with th car until it started smoking every time the engine got warm. I had to keep adding oil almost every two to three days. Every time I stopped, for traffic , red light or started from a stop position blue smoke would come from exhaust and there is a horrible smell of burnt oil and antifreeze. My car progressively got worst until white smoke steam would come from under the hood and every time I drov e short distances I would have to add engine coolant. Before this happened, I had to have an oil changed and a checkup at the BMW dealership in April,(the car was smoking and smelling like engine coolant. I was informed then that there had been an lawsuit against BMW for not advising the owners of certain models and engines would have the above mentioned problem. I was told if I had brought my car in before Feb. 2020, I would be eligible for the benefits entitled to owners of this engine. But because I didn't bring my car in, time had expired. I also learned that there was a recall on my car which parts had to be ordered for and were later added to my vehicle by the dealership. I was not notified about the lawsuit relating to the engine problems by the selling shea used cars, formally patsy lou, mega lot or grand blanc motorsports (BMW dealership) that informed in April about the lawsuit. If I had been notified regarding my car I would responded appropriately. Now to properly fix my car I need $15,227. 38 . I am of course now paying for a car that I can't enjoy because of this issued. Any and all help would be appreciated.

My car doors are locked and can't be opened at all! in the past, I've been locked inside the car and couldn't get out unless I stop the car, turn it off, roll down my driver side window, and stick the key in the driver side door, and manually turn it to unlock it. Now my doors will not open at all. Manually or electronically. None of them. This is very dangerous and should be considered a safety hazard. I have a seven year old son that rides with me in my car all the time. These vehicles need to be recalled and taken off of the streets for good. They're are potential death traps!.
Took in for repair for water getting into car several times to dealer. Told they could not find a problem or where any water was getting into car. The last time I took it in, told that they cleaned water lines etc. So, should be ok. However, after driving it home & once a good rain came, it got wet inside the cabin/car again! they had the car, worked on it etc. However, when it was picked up again, told that the dash screen was damaged. But rather than blame it on the water getting into the car etc. ; they blamed it on something else which cost an unbelievable price to repair. Or they failed to admit their unbelievable car care and customer care/service. Subsequently, the lost of being able to see the car dash, screen etc. : all of the systems information: gas level, speed, lights, navigation etc. Has been lost.
The doors from inside don't open up when the car loses power you are locked inside also the engine smokes even when the gaskets and seals have been replaced. The car suspension in the rear is terrible also air bag light goes on and off even when the dealer ran diagnosis on the car car is parked.

~tl the contact owns a 2011 BMW 750li. The contact stated that while approaching his vehicle he noticed melted tar coming from the driver's side rear door handle. The following day the windshield wipers engaged with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the vehicle should diagnosed at a BMW dealer. The vehicle was taken to wide world BMW (125 e route 59, spring valley, NY 10977) where it was diagnosed and determined that the door handle and harness cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
On a day-to-day basis my car would drive probly 80 miles in the city and when I'm on the highway the transmission will start slipping while going 65 miles an hour and almost come to a dead stop on the highway along with that the battery also draining all the time while driving and I have to charge the battery all the time.
After a round trip 25 miles drive and placing the car in park with the engine off, the passenger door would not open from inside or outside of the car. The issue appears to be an electrical, because the central locking system would lock the car, but would not unlock. The driver door does open from the inside but the passenger door does not. This could be catastrophic in case of fire or accident.
Just had a new factory engine put in my 2010 BMW 750li under a class action lawsuit, in August 2019. December 2019 wife was driving car to grocery store and engine suddenly started bucking and smell of gas was overwhelming. She was in traffic at the time and could not maintain proper speed on the 50mph highway and lost total power. She nursed car into a nearby parking lot. It was snowing out and had to wait for a tow truck for an hour in freezing temperatures. Aside from the overwhelming fuel smell, almost caused accident by not being able to maintain proper speed, she was waiting in freezing temperatures for tow truck. This, I found out, is a very big problem with these cars. Its was a fuel injector that caused the issue. This is truely a safety hazard for the public. And an extremely expensive fix. BMW has many complaints about the fuel injectors, but seem to ignore the issue and profit heavily from the customers loss. Please do something about this issue.
Hybrid batteries failing before reaching 50,000 miles cost of repair around 15000 at the BMW dealer which is insane for a battery ,.
I have a 2007 750li BMW with airbag and seat belt problems has there been a recall on this safety complaint.
Car screen panel dead. No visuable information on car panel to determine speed, gas level etc. Car picked up from dealership after service and told of water leak in car. Had been told by the service dept that they could not find a leak of water into car. However, apparently, they did not want to repair the panel due to their neligence. The car had been taken to them with this issue several times as a potential recall issue.
In 2009, we bought this 2006 BMW 750li as pre-owned and certified warranty from BMW of tenafly, new jersey. We have registration address maintained in new jersey, and have not updated, even though we moved to chicago, illinois in summer of 2011. BMW issued 6 recalls for 7-series manufactured between 2005 and 2008. The recalls on manufacturer defects on electric and transmission in 2012 and 2013, and again in 2017. We missed all of the notices for these recalls. The vehicle was driven for less than 50,000 miles, from 2009 to 2019. The vehicle was inspected, and in good mechanical conditions, as well as body, since the vehicle has been garaged most of times. Since 2019, the vehicle has been in shops for repairs for electric and transmission and engine. It has been more than 3 years for our vehicle in the shops, and over $21,000 spent, there is no sign that the vehicle can be driven. Thus, we checked the online and found out the BMW recalls on this vehicle in 2012 and 2013. We called BMW customer relations & services, multiple times. BMW denied the recalls. We checked with the attorneys, including the ones who filed class action suits against BMW with billion dollars win for the customers on BMW defects. All said BMW shall honor their recalls. Further, the recalls will never be expired. Now BMW has declined taking calls, responding email, and recently shifting the failing repair to a BMW dealer. What shall we do? we have sent letter to their legal department. A shop who tried to repair over 2 years reported to us that this 2006 BMW 750li has a very bad reputation on electric and transmission. He said this is a common agreement among BMW dealers. Since BMW customer relations and services now shut us out, what department within BMW shall we go to. Shall we find an attorney for another class action suit, which occurred already?.
Tl the contact owns a 2006 BMW 750li. The contact stated that oil was leaking all over the engine. In addition, while driving various speeds, all the electrical components on the vehicle shut off without warning and the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The contact associated the failures with NHTSA campaign number: 12v502000 (power train, electrical system) and NHTSA campaign number: 13v564000 (air bags). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that there were no recalls. No further assistance was offered. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 165,000.
On oct 29, 2012, bnw recalled its 7-series luxury cars due to reports of transmission control problems. The national highway traffic safety administration reported in the NHTSA campaign #12v502000 (power train and electric system) has caused at least 14 crashes and possibly 5 injuries, and in the NHTSA campaign #13v564000 (air bags). The recall involved 45,500 cars with model years from 2005 to 2008 that includes 2006 BMW 750li. Our 2006 BMW 750li’s VIN is wbahn83586dt34592. Our purchase was from BMW of tenafly, 301 county road, tenafly, NJ 07670 on 3/19/2009. Odometer reading at the time of the purchase is 45,450 miles. Sale price is $35,777. 84. Our BMW 750li was vocationally used, and mostly garaged, from 2009-2011, in new jersey; and completely garaged, from 2011-2014, in new jersey. The vehicle was vocationally used, from 2014-2019, in chicago. Since 2019, the vehicle has been repaired in shops for electric and transmission failures: 3 years by bridgeport transmission (930 w 31st street, chicago, IL 60608, tel 312 842-1887, richard, the owner), and now already 6 months with field BMW northfield (700 frontage road, northfield, IL 60093, tel: 847-441-5300 x 8396, chris goodrich, the service advisor). Except for the electric and transmission issues, our vehicle is in wonderful condition. The body looks new. The current odometer reading is 92,000 miles. Since 2019, we have spent $1,500 for battery (as it was first suspected of the issue) by field BMW northfield, $6,500 for electric and transmission by bridgeport transmission, $650 for programming by a BMW dealership, and $5,350 for dsc control unit, and multiple tows 4 x $350 = $1,400. Total expenditure is $15,400. Currently, field BMW northfield asks additional $8,700 for transmission, but does not guarantee the vehicle can be repaired.
I was driving on interstate highway when the engine cutoff and locked up. Oil leak all over highway. Engines was blown due to frequent oil leaking. Was putting oil in vehicle consistently on a weekly basis.
Vehicle was parked with engine off and spontaneously combusted. ***I have video footage of the entire ordeal. ***** the car had been parked for roughly 4 hours prior to fire starting underneath the hood fo no apparent reason. Reached out to BMW and was told due to the severity of the damage their investigators could not determine the cause or origin of the fir at the time of the inspection. The national engineering group observed thermal damage isolated to the engine compartment with greater consumption towards the front. This occurred due to no fault of my own and BMW is denying responsibility and help.
On 2 seperate occasions, once on a busy street and once on the freeway, the vehicle completely shut down during driving with and abrupt speed change as it slams into park or locks all wheels up with no control of the steering or any part of the vehicle. All electronics were not working and airbag lights were flashing as the vehicle broke down and shut off on the freeway with an 88 year old woman the BMW dealership sold this dangerous lemon of a car to. The 1st time this happened, the vehicle needed repairs that totaled over $21,000 , more than the value of the car. BMW is aware this vehicle has recalls & problems. These vehicles should not be repaired and put back on the road. Both incidents of the car shutting down while driving could have easily killed somebody. The dealership has record of incidents.
I have a 2008 750 li BMW 110,00 miles on it an I been haing problems with seat belt fault electrical parsitic draw in electrical system BMW cant seem to fix these issues. I have spent thousand of dollars chasing these defects and safety issues. I read the complaints about the same issue others were having and nothing has been done to recall these vehicle in. Please respond to this because im lost for answers on why isnt this vehicle been recall for these problems. Vehicle is sitting in my garage cant drive dont start change battery continue to drain. Have been to dealer three times for this problem. My phone nr to reach me is 619 764 2687.
Water linkage down door panels to the floor, drivers side ecm is located in that area, water damages the components and caused it to produce codes, interfering with car engine, causes surges, and vehicle to all of sudden shut off even while driving on freeway or streets. Water linkage on the passenger side down into the fuse box. All so causing electrical malfunction that opens the door for potential unsafe events.
After I diagnosed a parasitic battery draw when the car has been off overnight. I found the auxillary water pump for the intercoolers still running drawing 5 amps when the car is off. This is the same exact issue I found with the recall 18v-248 I'm quite lucky my car didn't catch on fire yet.
2006 BMW 750li. Consumer writes with regard to recall on door latch that led to malfunction with key fob.
While driving the car just cuts off, very scary unsafe, when you get somewhere, you stuck it wont start back up parking brake default, so you stuck for hours ,then it starts again, , several tows to the point of weekly then daily- my only transportation bad choice buying a BMW- in shop at dealership but they dint fix or find problems this is aweful but the car note is paid and I have a lemon!!! just a nightmare.
