Air Bag Problems of BMW M3 - part 2

Takata recall. I was notified of this significant safety recall in March 2016. I have tried to get the airbag replaced by my local BMW dealer who says parts are not available and has no idea when they will be received. I cannot drive my vehicle due to the danger of this airbag defect and am seeking a remedy for the delay in repair.

I have been waiting for over one year for my recall to be performed by my local BMW service center. I received a letter stating it was going to be taken care of in may of 2016 (letter was dated March of 2016). I drive my car on a daily basis and run the risk of injury due to the defective airbag. I will not allow family members to drive my dangerous vehicle and now worried I have to sell my car. If I sell my car I shall divulge that there is a recall by BMW and that it has not been performed. I cannot drive this vehicle anylonger.

The material used on the BMW steering wheel melts at the touch of sunlight- doesn't have to be a hot temperature. The melting of the steering wheel restricts me from using the horn and could very well have affected the airbag and/or deployment of the airbag. Also, it's sticky, my fingerprints and sleeve from my shirt are imprinted on the steering wheel. . . My long hair has been stuck on it. I'm afraid to touch the wheel- it nearly drips. What is this material? what's going on? nothing was put on the steering wheel to cause this. This car is not under any warranty; however, this is a very, very dangerous defect that should not happen in any car, at any time. I don't know what material BMW used on the steering wheel, but I cannot drive the car until it's fixed. . .

This car is subject to the airbag recall. I was first notified of this in September 2014. Since then, BMW has repeatedly put off the target date for this repair. Back in October 2014, an article in the financial times stated that replacement parts for the first 25% of the parts would not be available until February 2015. If BMW was aware of this in October 2014, why didn't they make alternate arrangements with another vendor and backcharge takata?.

This car has airbag recall and despite 2-3 phone calls to BMW dealership it is still not fixed. All I am told is that I am "on a list". They have no idea when they can fix it. I received initial letter about recall in sept 2014, told to call in November. Called in Nov and Dec with same response.

I was driving my car on lake shore drive and I hit a pot hole near lawrence Ave. I ended up getting flat on both of my right tires. It possibly bent my rim, suspension issues, and tire have been flat.

Takata recall. Reasonable time has passed since the airbag recall. But I have not heard as to when this safety issue will be resolved. Every time I drive the car I feel I am risking my life or chance for serious injury. BMW has been completely negligent with regards to resolving this issue. BMW should temporarily remedy the situation by replacing the car with a similar vehicle. I need this to be resolved now!!!. Also the drive train has a clunking noise of which I have been complaining since new. They have made temporary adjustment but the problem still surfaces. This happens when I shift gears even at slow speeds (6 spd manual transmission).
