My wife was driving the car and she heard a clinking sound, it was the sun roof glass that shattered. My wife stopped at a hardware store taped the glass, and covered it with plastic. The glass could have flown off and damages cars( including ours) and injured people.

2 Sun Roof problem of the 2006 BMW X3

Failure Date: 04/23/2012

After each rainfall, front and/or rear passenger footwells flood, depending on the angle that the vehicle is parked. Dealership replaced vapor barriers but a water test revealed that the sunroof glass is too low, causing the leak.
