2 Power Window problem of the 2001 BMW X5

Failure Date: 07/08/2010

Vehicle electric windows stick full open and cannot close. I bought the BMW X5 4. 4i new in 2001, I still own the vehicle, and this has happened 4 times since new (2004, 2005, 2006, 2010). Each time it renders the vehicle unusable since it cannot be secured and left unattended. The window motor regulator was replaced twice under warranty and twice I had to pay. This should not even happen once!.

3 Power Window problem of the 2002 BMW X5

Failure Date: 06/22/2010

2002 BMW X5 window regulator. Car has 41k miles and already going on 5th window regulator issue. All four window regulators have been replaced and the issue occurred twice on the driver's side window. I have been told multiple explanations from the dealer including lack or use or too much use but this issue occurs on all BMW makes and models. BMW still has no solution that fixes this issue permanently and charges $300 to $600 for each window depending on front or rear. Too much to pay for a bad design.

4 Power Window problem of the 2004 BMW X5

Failure Date: 06/26/2009

BMW window regulator fails for no apparent reason in all car models. Car has less than 36k miles and already fixing the third window. BMW service person explanation is due to the lack of use that causes this problem. Yet, driver's side, which is the one with most use, recently failed. This is a repeated problem in almost all BMW cars with automatic windows and BMW is not doing anything about it. This issue is posted everywhere in the internet and BMW charges anywhere between $300 and $600 per window/fix (mine was quoted at around $550).

6 Power Window problem of the 2001 BMW X5

Failure Date: 03/12/2008

Window regulators have been replaced by the dealer 7 times since the purchase of my cpo 2001 X5 on 10/03/2001. All regulators have been replaced twice except for the passenger front only once so far. The first 6 replacements were covered by the 4/50 warranty or the cpo warranty at a $50. 00 deductible. The 7th replacement cost me $471. BMW has engineered a defective part and doesn't seem to care that it continues to malfunction. I have contacted BMW USA and they will provide no compensation and say that I must replace all future failures at my cost. This does not seem appropriate for a company that "supposedly" prides itself on quality and customer service.
