One problem related to rear suspension coil springs has been reported for the 2004 BMW Z4. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
We purchased the vehicle used late summer 2013. Upon having the vehicle inspected we discovered that both rear coil springs were broken. We were told by multiple resources that this is a common problem with BMW. We replaced the springs. I want to know why this is not a recall. Other brand/modles with cracked/broken rear coil springs have had recalls. This is a safety issue. High speed cornering could cause springs to separate from vehicle.
