One problem related to underhood wiring has been reported for the 2007 BMW Z4. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The wiring harness under the dash spontaneously ignited while I was driving. The fire was put out with a fire extinguisher, but re-ignited two more times. It didn't stop re-igniting until the battery wires were disconnected from the battery terminals. Police and the fire dept were called.
