Dt: the consumer experienced unwanted acceleration on 2000 Buick Century. Sporadically, there were super high revs when the vehicle was first started. Then the consumer had to stop the car and restart it again in order for the revving to go to a correct idle speed. The car has been to the dealership 4 times over this problem. This did not happen for the first four and half years. The dealer has replaced the throttle position sensor two times and the computer once. The consumer is still having the unwanted acceleration problem. The dealer can't figure out what the problem is.

2 Car Accelerates On Its Own problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2001

Whenever starting vehicle and shifting into gear vehicle would jerk forward or backwards suddenly, even with foot on brake. Due to this sudden acceleration, vehicle was involved in an accident. One person was injured.
