I was driving at night switched headlights to high beams - few minutes later switched back to low beams and all lights dash and head lights went completely out . Tried to pull head light knob and nothing - pitch black . Luckily I was a short distance from my home. This is extremely dangerous ! I have found 33 complaints (so far) about this same problem. This definitely should qualify and be recalled . Please take immediate action . Thank you.

My vehicle's window controls and lock controls are no longer working, when locking the door or the window will go down but will not come up. The rest of the windows control throughout the car will not work as well. The lighting in the car flickers if you would push the lot or the window control. Anterior light is no longer working. None of this works even when parked or driving down the road.

Our daughter was nearly killed by a driver with their lights off. Many drivers of late model cars are not aware that their lights are off because their dash is lit and their driving lights are on. There are no alerts telling people their lights are off!!!!! our seat belts make noise, if a car door is open it alerts us. I have observed that approximately 10-20% of cars on a street or freeway are driving with their lights off. This is a major problem and needs to be solved. This is the second time I have complained with no result. If there is no action I will be filing a class action lawsuit in the name of my daughter against the ntsb to demand action. Please respond.

Defective odometer readings, gear indicators disappeared. The odometer reading disappeared, and the gear indicator disappeared on instrument cluster. I have no way to read my odometer, nor do I know what gear I am in, prnd21. Now I can accidently be in reverse and not even know it. This is an extremely dangerous situation, and there should be a recall on this. Mechanic charges $100. 00 to fix, and also states they can insert any odometer reading that I would like to have. This should be illegal. I no longer have a valid odometer reading for my yearly inspections, or if I were to sell my vehicle. I could drive in 1st gear and burn up my transmission and shut down in the middle of the interstate and cause a serious accident or be run over for dead stopped on roads. My instrument panel has not had an accurate fuel guage reading in years, it comes and goes. I have been able to figure out gas usage by mileage, now that is no longer possible. I must fill up weekly just so I know I wont run out of gas. The car only has 55,000 original miles on it. This is just not right. I extremely upset about this and dont know how to get it fixed properly and covered from the dealerships. You should have a lifetime warranty on your odometer reading and knowing what gear you are in. Please advise and look forward to hearing from you concerning this very serious safety issue.

When driving at night head lights just shut off briefly. It seems to do this on dims or brights. I see a lot of similar complaints and I don't see any recalls. They come back on, but I can't seem to determine if they come back on from messing with the switch or if they just come back on by themselves. I'm not sure if the taillights go out as well but if they do that's a hazard for those coming up behind on highway at 65 mph. This is clearly a safety hazard that needs to be addressed!.

When driving at night all lights go out, interior and driving lights, resuming when clicking bright light switch. Driving at 65 mph.
I keep getting my air bag warning light coming on, the abs, and the check engine soon light, they wont go off. The fuel line that goes into the gas tank /neck leaks when gas gets pumped into it. The odometer mileage display p. R. N. D. L. Wont work and neither will the temperature gauge indicator for the climate control gauge.
The contact owns a 2002 Buick Century. The contact stated that the interior and exterior lighting intermittently failed without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,000.
When I bought my 2002 Buick Century in 2003, I asked the dealer to turn off the drl on the car. They insisted they could not because of manufacturer & highway safety laws, but said I could contact the mfg. But that it required much paperwork & an extensively satisfactory reason for this to be done, so I quit asking. Once again I have decided to try to get the drl on my car turned off, since it seems to cause so much confusion to on coming traffic when I am signaling to change lane or turn. I contacted Buick & got customer support rep, that had no idea what drl even is, & declined to escalate my case up. At best she told me to go to a dealer. So the dealer tells me to go the the mfg. Then the mfg tells me to go to the dealer. Can you do anything to help me? all I want is to drive my car without the parking lights on! I thought it was illegal to drive with parking lights on.
The contact owns a 1999 Buick Century. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph at night, the head light failed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 122,248. The VIN was not available.
Bright lights won't stay on.
Bright lights won't stay on and sometimes if you can get them to come on they will go out while driving. Was on a city street and turned right , they went off. Since then you can hold the bright light switch, but when you turn loose they goes off.

03 Buick Century headlamps go out while driving seems to be occurring with high beams 'still early in diag have not repaired yet { great christmas gift }.
All lights (ext and control panel) will suddenly go out. If I quickly flick the light control lever they come back on. This is an intermittant problem but quite un nerving! I have seen no recall or service bulliten.
My lights go out when I try to switch from dim to bright. I feel that this could be a big safety issue while driving at night, so I don't switch to bright lights in fear that my lights wont come back on.
The contact owns a 2000 Buick Century. While driving 50 mph, the interior and exterior lights flashed on and off. The contact stated that the multi-function switch, which controls the lights for the vehicle, failed. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The current mileage was 50,000 and failure mileage was 47,000.
Whenever I have attempted to use my high beams, I lose all lights, which is extremely dangerous, especially since I live in a mostly unlighted rural area with many curvy roads. I haven't replaced any parts since I've heard estimates are in the $700+ range, and I cannot afford the expense. . . I just do not use the high beams at all for fear I'll lose all lights. I still don't feel safe that the lights won't just cut off anyway. I inherited the car in 2008 and noticed the problem right away. This problem occurs every single time I try to use the high beams. I've research the internet and realize there is plenty of documentation that many others have the same problem. This is obviously a manufacturer defect and should be a recall item before a death occurs. Trust me. . . If I filed a lawsuit, there is plenty of evidence that this is a manufacturer problem and that they are aware of this potentially fatal problem, especially for those who buy the vehicle used and are not aware of the problem.
Purchased on 2004, used, the 2003 vehicle has consistently had the head lamps go out when in highbeams are activated. The dealer said this is a short and said it would cost me to fix them and this happens to many of these vehicles. Major safety issue when you are driving at night and the lights go out. Clicking the low beams on turn the lights back on. Since this seems to be a known issue, why is there. To a recall on this? this happens while the vehicle is in motion at all speeds. (only in the dark, since this is when the high bea,s are used!).
One of the taillight bulbs in my fiance's car needs to be replaced more frequently than it should be. I thought the issue might be particular to the car, but I have noticed while driving that other late-model Buick Century's have the same non-functioning tail-light, so I believe this must be a mfr. Defect.
Day time running lights failed. Mgm.

The head lamp light switch failed.
The reverse lights and tag light stopped working due to fraying of wires near trunk hinge. Fraying also cased the "trunk/door" light to illuminate on dash until repaired. Cheap plastic covering did nothing to prevent fraying from contact with trunk hinge. At 3000 miles, had to go to dealer three times to have steering column replaced due to loud noise when wheel was turned. Sun visors are hard to use, they hit rearview mirror when adjusted. Inadequate even when used. Very loud popping sound on driver's side at times under brake pedal. Good car otherwise.
When starting vehicle the gear selector light comes on but when vehicle is in motion the light goes off and stays off for long periods of time. Can't see what gear vehicle is in. This happens intermittenly. Dealer contacted please add VIN#. Nlm.
