Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the front passenger air bag failed. The front passenger air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to jim causley Buick GMC truck 38111 south gratiot avenue clinton township, mi 48036 phone (866)774-0267. The dealer performed a diagnostic. The diagnostic located the failure code at the front passenger seat occupant sensor. The dealer advised that if the front passenger seat occupant sensor was not replaced the passenger front air bag will not deploy in the event of a crash. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 123,000. Li.
(tw - no dealer/manuf info) tl the contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. While driving approximately 20 mph, the contact lost control and crashed head on into another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to the head, which required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. Airbag light on passenger side indicates airbag will not deploy. Vehicle has been brought in to several different dealerships to be evaluated, each claiming a different code has been activated, however no fix has been permanent. Vehicle had previous recall (2011) on airbag sensor - fix was not permanent. Most recent time, dealership claims a sensor in the seat is bad and will require $1200 fix due to its location in the seat??? codes b0074 & b0081 (internal fault in passenger presence module) there is not a time that the airbag engages - still or moving. This has been an issue while was still in warranty and beyond warranty - gm refuses to work with me.
Indicator light shows passenger airbag needs to be replaced. Dealer said it may not deploy in event of impact. Car has not been in accident and airbag has not been deployed previously.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, another vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, the contact crashed into the driver side of the vehicle and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained neck, back, shoulder, arms, leg and foot injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v817000 (air bags) however, the part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. The failure mileage was 94,000. Oo.
On passenger side, air bag sensor does not detect a passenger sitting in the seat so indicator light always says "off" and will turn on sometimes, but most times not turn on at all. We were concerned that in a crash, the passenger air bag would not deploy as it thinks no one is seated there. We took the car to berglund Chevrolet for repair. They had to replace the sensor and passenger side seat cushion to resolve the problem and it cost in excess of $700. This should have been a recall as I have read on this website that others had similar problems with their airbag. This is a follow up to our earlier complaint @10583156.
The "service air bag" light consistently comes on and the dealer states there is nothing to worry about as far as the functioning of the airbags when we were under the bumper to bumper warranty. But, now that I have 108k and still dealing with this issue, along with the recall notices for "some" 2008-2009 and all of 2010-2013 Enclaves I requested the dealer take another look at the sensor issue. Now, the dealer states that yes there is an issue with the air bag sensor and my air bags will not deploy properly in an accident but that the issue is not what is covered under the current warranty out for the Enclaves based on my VIN number. Either the warranty should cover the cost of repair or the dealer should replace the part that should have been replaced under the bumper to bumper warranty.
The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic light, another vehicle crash into the rear end of the vehicle and the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained minor injuries to arms and hands. The passenger sustained lacerations to the head and was taken to the hospital for medical assistance since she was pregnant at the time. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to determine why the air bags failed to deployed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 20 and the current mileage was 48,300.
