1st incident was 6/29/24 my driver seat airbag deployed. 2nd incident happened 8/3/24 when the airbag on the driver side deployed the whole side from the front to the back of the trunk.
I didn’t have any accidents but I when to many mechanics shops and each saying that it is an electrical problem with my 2008 Buick Enclave cxl 3. 6 also an issue with the airbag on the dash it showing service airbag soon I brought this car a couple of years ago and the airbag light was on when I brought it. VIN [xxx] I can be reach at [xxx] [xxx] or email me at [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
At 65,000 transmission went out 100,000 electrical issue due to lose ground wire under fuse box 121,000 electrical issue caused battery to drain and vehicle not turn off. Even if key out of ignition 121,000 driver side curtain airbags deployed when battery replaced.
My airbags driver side and the passenger front all exploded while sitting in my driveway nobody in the vehicle.
Passenger airbag will disable randomly while driving for random periods of time ranging from a few seconds to a few hours despite there being a 140+ lb passenger. This will happen every few minutes.
The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the air bag sensor light had illuminated and the message "service air bag" had displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the failure was due to water corrosion in the air bag system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 200,000. .
It says service airbag.
Passenger side front airbag has failed in car and was not deployed. Dealership has looked into it, fixed connections and still it is displaying that it needs to be serviced. Signal started while driving at speed after connections to passenger seat were repaired.
The "service air bag" light is on in my 2008 Buick Enclave. I had noticed that at first, it would go on and off if I was sitting in the seat and someone else was driving. I assumed it was because it thought I was a child sitting in the front seat, as I am a 30 year old female who barely weighs 100 lbs. The light is now constantly on.
The airbag keep going off and on service airbag and when I bring it to get it check they can't find anything wrong with it.
I purchased this vehicle several years ago used and everything was working fine. Several months later, whenever a "passenger" sits in the front passenger seat, the check airbag and seat belt system message appears in the dashboard. After the seat becomes unoccupied, the message remains on. . . Sometimes for a couple of days, sometimes for a week, and sometimes for a month or two. Then it may stop showing the message until a person sits there again. This also happened when the vehicle was not running and the key was in my pocket. I went and applied pressure to the passenger seat and when I started the vehicle with an empty passenger seat, the message appeared again. I took my vehicle to the dealer and they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for the repair and I was thinking this should be a covered repair. What I am saying is the message appears that something is wrong and when someone sits in the seat.
Service airbags just started illuminating today. From the research I have been seeing. It's because the wiring harness under passenger seat gets pinch. Also the sun roof is leaking through the air bag area on the driver side to the left of the windshield while sitting inside the car. . . .
1. Passenger airbag- warning light gives me a daily message to service the airbag. I worry about whether the airbag will deploy at any moment or may not deploy if an accident occurs as I travel with my children daily. 2. Power steering- my power steering locked as I was driving 2 years ago. The auto shop has replaced/repaired the power steering system multiple times, however steering continues to whine and rub. 3. Trunk liftgate- the liftgate has abruptly lowered as my children and I have tried to get items in and out of the back. This resulted in one of them getting hit in the head. The back liftgate button has stopped engaging.
Check air bag monitor keeps coming on.
Front passenger seat air bag warning works on and off while driving or sitting in traffic when someone is sitting in the seat.
The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. While the vehicle was parked, the air bags deployed independently. The vehicle was taken to be diagnosed, but the contact was not given a cause for the deployment. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v118000 (air bags). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
Sunroof water leak. When it rains water pours from all parts of the roof onto the interior of the car. From falling water to water running down through the walls of every part of the car. It has started to cause electrical problems with the vehicle and also I have found mold under the carpet where the water accumulates. It is usually 1 to 2 inches of water on the floor boards after raining. Causing mold, rust and mildew. This happens whenever it rains, a little or alot. This may be causing unhealth iisues. It would be Smart for Buick to fix these issues now before medical bills are involved.
The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power. The failure occurred without warning. The contact contacted onstar who performed a diagnostic test, which determined that the transmission, engine, air bag, and brake systems failed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
Air bag problems on passenger side warning system on, dealer says might be on recall.
Had airbag recall done then light came back on.
My car was stationary sitting in my driveway and on sept. 1, 2015 I notice the front passenger side windshield was shattered, upon further investigation the airbag passenger side and alone both sides of the car had deplored.
Airbag service light came on. . . . Now when a passenger sits in the seat the light says off. So that now the passenger will not have the airbag infliat if there is a accident. . . Not good. This should be a recall.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the liftgate on the vehicle was constantly collapsing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v415000 (structure). However the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000. Passenger air comes on and goes off while driving down the road.
The pps module keeps breaking every 1. 5 years. This is the passenger presence module in the passenger seat that gives indication to the vehicle as to whether there is a passenger over 100 pounds, and tells the vehicle whether to deploy airbags. Since the original purchase, it has broken 3 more times. It was replace twice under warranty, and now it has broken again out of warranty and ritchey Cadillac tells me that I have to pay for it. It is over $1000 to fix. . . Every year and half?? the 'service air bag' message comes on, the airbag icon comes on. It breaks so often that I don't trust it at all! clearly this is a passenger safety issue, that is not being properly addressed. They keep replacing the issue with a junk solution.
Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that for months the rear lift gate randomly came down with no warning. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v415000 and stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The contact was also included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v118000 (air bags) and the dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. Parts distribution disconnect. The manufacturer was contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the contacts vehicle would receive the recall repairs. The contact continued to experience the rear lift gate failure randomly progressing. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.
Air bag service light came on and was taken to dealer for service as I already had a letter stating this could happen and if so take it to dealer for repair. After being check out by dealer I was told they could find the problem however my battery check out bad and that could be the problem, so I paid them to replace battery. After battery was replaced the service light went out, until 1/13/15 while driving vehicle home after having it serviced by dealer the air bags service light reappeared and when I took it back to the dealer I was told they would be happy to check it out at my cost which I said not knowing what the cost could add up to I would just continue to drive with the service light on. It is now 5/21/15 and it continues brightly burn. Dan hartzell.
Since I bought my truck I heard a weird noise from the steering wheel I thought well maybe because im not used to it because before I was driving an Nissan x-terra 2002. So im a women don't know anything about cars so I said it looks good it was from only one owner before so I think we are good. Plus I thought it's not like I'm paying $5,000 for a truck and it's a Buick it's consider luxure so I didn't think I was making a bad choice. Well the noise it's getting worse I barely made it to my house yesterday because the steering wheel didn't want to work anymore it was raining so hard im 9 months pregnant I made that investment doing a huge sacrifice so me and my child could be protected, feel confident that at the end of the day we are in good hands in that truck. Also when I bought this truck a month later the air bag service light was on I did a research it said that this truck had a recall for that so I took it to the Buick and they fix it. And now the engine light turns on every now and then. I mean I'm doing everything I should for this vehicle I change oil regulary and I pay for the synthetic oil because they said it was better for this type of brand cars that are luxure for our middle class people. And it's not like I travel in that vehicle I only use it to go to work, groceries, family and friends house honestly I don't use it to travel where I live is a small town so it's not like I have this truck all over the place if you see it's like new it's the cxl it has 2 sunroof, leather seats, dvd player I mean im in love with this truck but c'mon that's not safe for me and my baby.
The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the air bag, engine, traction control, and stability control lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to dealer. The technician stated that the vehicle could not be repaired since the parts were no longer manufactured for this vehicle. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number 14v118000 (air bags). However, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.
Had warning in the dic. Warning was service air bag. I had a bulletin that said vehicles may exhibit wear which could lead to corrosion in the connector terminal pins at the connection between the body main wiring harness and the front driver and passenger side impact air bag. Brought vehicle in to bill walsh gm superstore and they found another defective part - they replaced passenger seat presence module at a cost to me of $400. 00. Wanting to know if there are others who have been sold a car that had defective air bags. I bought this vehicle new and it has never been in an accident, however the air bags became defective over time.
After a steady rain I noticed the passenger floor board was soaked. I thought a window was accidently left cracked after checking window and realizing window was not cracked. Water is getting into car through sun roof draining into the car. Several rains later it is constantly water inside the car.
My wife weighs 120#. During normal driving the passenger airbag on and off light is erratic at best. Once set to off while driving even bouncing up and down won't turn the airbags back on.
Our 2008 Buick Enclave began leaking water onto and under the dashboard from the sunroof. Not only has this been a known problem since 2008, but there was an actual recall that year to fix this leak. For some reason our VIN number was excluded from the original recall but it is experiencing the exact same issues that the recall was to address. This leak can cause several safety issues including corrosion and failure of airbag systems, the fuse panel, the blower motor that operates the defrost/defog function, and a buildup of mold and mildew. The dealer told me that my fuse panel is shot and needs to be replaced. I suspect that I have other damaged electrical components as well. I have attached the url's of several sites which reference the extent to which this problem is occurring with these vehicles. It is obvious that the initial recall did not cover all of the vehicles with the underlying problem and now we are stuck with a dealer quote for $1900 repair that does not include the blower motor and airbags. I would appreciate a prompt response as I can't drive in the rain and am concerned about hidden damage that could affect the car's safety. Thanks. . Read more...
I own a 2008 Buick Enclave and twice now in less than four months my air bag service light has come on. Both times I have taken the car to the dealers and both times they have cleared the code and have not fixed the problem. They seem to lack the technical know how or willingness to fix this problem. According to the service advisor this is a common problem with this vehicle and I am surprised that gm is not taking this safety problem seriously.
I purchased this car in January 20. 2008, went to get my first oil change, pick up the car start to drive off every light, can on the car including the button for the door locks, return to the to the dealers where I got the oil change and purchase the car. They keep this car for 4 weeks, took the whole engine down on a brand new car this was a brand new buck Enclave, that I purchase out of the stock room on display, was given a rental car for that period, pick up the car after four weeks, return back with the same problems and a leak in the roof also got that repair, back and forth to the dealers. Change dealers and took it to another dealers they did a good job but time after time I was still having problems at paying 47,000 for this car I was giving a bad deal, and they should have taken this car back because I am having problems to this day. I am smelling smoke like something is burning and a liitle afraid to drive this car in fair for my kid life. I had valve change, cylinder head change, seal, gasket, bolt, ignition coil replacement, liftgate sturt replacement, master cylinder replacement, replace steering gear. This car has been nothing but problem to me , and its a very nice comfortable car, but I got a bad engine, and buck should have handle this different instead of fixing and fixing given me a different car. When I park this car in the parking lot and I come back this car front window has not visibility and windows be frosted like something is still running in the car. Since I purchase this car I have been in a rental more than this car. 3. Personal information name: gloria toote email: gbahamagirl@comcast.
