The power back door"hatch" slams shut after opening. Be the power on or off. Sometimes it will stay open other times it slams shut. It doesn't matter even if you are standing there. It has slammed several times on my childrens' heads. I emailed Buick but they stated my car was not involved in the recall but this is obviously the same problem the other 2012 Buick Enclaves were having.

Smoke came out inside on the front passenger vent, fire melted the vent cover. Took the GMC / Buick dealership, they said they cannot find the source of fire, suggesting fire cause is external such as reflection from the sun. Driver does't smoke and there's nothing I can find in the vehicle that might have cause the reflection such as a mirror or any shiny object. This happened while the vehicle is in motion, city street driving. Vehicle traveled approximately 2 miles from the house at 8 in the morning. Outside temperature around 50's degrees. I think the problem might be electrical. The amount of smoke and burning smell in the vehicle made it very unsafe to drive it.
The driver side inside door handle broke away from the mechanism. In order to exit the vehicle I had to roll down the window and use the exterior door handle. Locks, windows, and exterior handle work properly. I drove to work and it worked fine. When I parked and tried to get out it would not work. It happened originally in 10/2014. The dealership told me I had to replace the entire door, which I could not afford, so they "jerry-rigged" it with a screw and charged me $125. 00 labor. It has now happened again, and another dealership said I can replace the interior mechanism for about $350. I contacted Buick cs regarding the issue, and was told that due to the age of my vehicle they could do nothing. This is a safety issue. In an emergency, I would not be able to exit my vehicle. And as a person with a disability this is a primary concern. On the internet, you can find hundreds of people who have had the same issue with the Buick Enclave and the GMC acadia. This needs to be investigated for possible recall.

I bought this 2008 Buick Enclave a year and a half ago with less than 80,000 miles on it, and it's been giving me transmission problems already. I almost got stranded and couldn't go aby faster than 30 mph. It almost cut off on me in the middle of the road. My transmission and engine both would lose power and wouldn't go past first geat. Myrpm hand went all the way up to 4 which it normally stays between 1 and 2, and my gas hand went from full, to half, full, and almost empty in a few seconds. Engine rides rough and has to take off speed. Transmission and engine problems were advised by Buick as being a known issue but apparently they haven't stayed true to their name "Buick. " this is a safety hazard as I could've gotten easily hit with no take off speed as it barely moves. It has happened 5 times with these same issues but dealership kept saying that no codes would pop up to see what's the issue until a week ago, it did it again for about 5th time and I took it to the dealership who advised all kinds of codes were popping up with my engine and transmission. Also the writing on my control buttons have worn off and my front suspension needs replaced and my driver seat tracks which are not covered under my warranty. Buick nerds to hold true to their name and compensate or replace these detected 2008 Buick Enclaves. Buick is not holding true to their name. I'm very dissatisfied and is my first time being a Buick owner. Now the dealership is trying to fix these issues, bit I shouldn't have to pay anything .

Bought vehicle September 7, 2015. Vehicle from very start had vibration, wind tunnel sound, and shimmy in steering at highway speeds. Drive vehicle for long period of time you get a headache. After many attempts dealer could not fix this. Dealers attempts to repair drove three other Enclaves which had same problem and GMC acadia with same problem. Told this is normal for vehicle. I tried to return vehicle for my trade in. They said no. Gm district rep. Also said vehicle is normal. I am stuck with this vehicle. Gm knows they have problems but does nothing. On 7/11/2015 when I opened the lift gate of my vehicle, the gate would not stay open. It slowly started to close. This problem persisted for about 4-5 days. About 6 days later, the gate was working fine. On 7/19/15 I opened the lift gate and was standing underneath it getting my child's stroller out of the back of my SUV. I heard a loud pop and the lift gate came crashing down on the top of my head. I was then trapped under the lift gate and struggled to get free (I had the stroller in my arms). I was able to free myself and locate my sunglasses (which were on top of my head when the gate crashed down) about five feet away. At this point, the lift gate was completely closed. I tried opening it again and it came crashing down. Currently, the lift gate will not stay open and I am unable to use the gate, and therefore unable to use the interior back area of my car. In terms of injury, I had a bump on my head, frequent headaches, and persistent neck pain.

My wife was unloading the groceries one day and the power lift gate fell on her back without warning. She had a very bad bruise and skin abrasion for a couple of weeks. I was surprised that our lift gate struts had failed with only 54k miles on the vehicle. The next day I called the dealer and was told there was a recall NHTSA campaign number: 15v415000. When I asked when I could bring it in for repair they said they don't have the parts. That was in early July. It is now Nov. 18th and we've been waiting for nearly 5 months and I cannot even get an answer for when it can be fixed. In fact, I can't even pay to have this fix done. The trunk is very heavy and it now takes 2 people to load and unload. This is extremely inconvenient and dangerous when she is by herself with my 2 younger kids since we use the trunk every day. The power lift gate is supposed to open with the press of the key fob and was one of the main features that made us purchase the vehicle. We feel that 5+ months is completely unreasonable to wait for a fix from gm. We cannot even trade it in because no dealer can resell it with a hatch that does not stay open. We are now left in limbo with an SUV that offers no utility. After some research I found out this recall effects 686,287 units of its lambda platform crossovers which includes the 2008-2012 Buick Enclave, 2009-2012 Chevrolet traverse, 2007-2012 GMC acadia, and 2007-2010 Saturn outlook. Gm should at least offer compensation for building such a major defect and then taking so long to fix it. We are happy with the Buick Enclave aside from this problem but it has definitely left a sour taste in our mouths.
