1 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2014 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

Whatever rules are being promulgated regarding car head restraints are irrational. I am confronted with head, neck and shoulder pain after each drive, regardless of how short. The headrest, all cars with recent headrests, is too far forward and pushes the head into a downward looking position. This unsafe body position will create other types of injuries, either from prolonged poor body mechanics or unsafe body or vehicle modifications. Without the ability to adjust the headrest into a comfortable driving position for 99. 9% of the time the driver is in the vehicle, the odds of the . 01% being effective is minimal. Please reissue the rules and provide some type of credit to fix the countless cars burdened by this irrational policy.

2 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2014 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 07/01/2014

The front driver & passenger head rests protrude too far forward even when pushed all the way back. The headrests are not able to be adjusted high enough for a tall person. For tall individuals this causes the lower portion of the headrest to press into a pressure point on the back. This could result in spinal damage in a rear end collision. Some owners are choosing to turn the head rests around backwards or remove them entirely. This also forces people to drive with the seat reclined too far back.

5 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2009 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 07/21/2009

Complaint about headrest in 2009 Buick Enclave. The headrest tilts so far forward that it is not possible for me to sit against the back part of the seat without having the headrest push my neck forward and down. Road bumps cause it to slam in and out against the head causing neck and back strain. The design of this headrest is flawed and dangerous.
