I bought the vehicle in December 2020 from a dealership in mason, ohio named borcherding Buick GMC. I asked, specifically to make sure the vehicle did not have any issues, especially transmission issues and for this to be researched, as well. I was not made aware of bulletin no. : 18-na-358, which affected Buick Enclave models from 2014-2017. I purchased the vehicle and sent a wire transfer for the purchase price to the dealership through my bank, usaa. We began experiencing transmission slips about a year into the ownership, and I had my mechanic look into the issue. He had just replaced the transmission on my wife’s 2011 Dodge grand caravan previously when it experienced a catastrophic failure and had to be replaced. This is the reason I asked to make sure the transmission on the 2014 Buick Enclave was working correctly and properly and there were no known issues. The mileage of the vehicle was under 60,000 miles at the time of purchase, so this should not have been an issue for the vehicle at all and the previous owner was, apparently, an elderly woman who had the vehicle serviced at the shop, but I cannot confirm this. The point being, there was a known issue with this vehicle that was not disclosed to me that general motors was aware of and could have led to me not purchasing the vehicle. We needed an SUV to drive my wife and daughter(s) to and from volleyball tournaments and something that we did not have to worry about. The result is a replacement transmission paid for by me out of pocket by a gm dealership. Gm refuses to acknowledge their faulty transmission. The rebuilt transmission is experiencing the same issues the old one was and gm wants me to take it in and have it “looked at”. The transmission is faulty! they know this and they refuse to reimburse my costs and refuse to acknowledge the dangers this transmission imposes to drivers and our families! please investigate this transmission and their engineering.

On the morning of October 25, 2021 at approximately 7:05 am, I was fixing to leave to go to work. The carport light was on, so I open the door to my car, slid into the driver’s seat, started the car up and the lights came on. As I was starting to get out of the car to go turn the carport lights off, I realized the car was going backwards. I tried to get back into the driver’s seat to try to stop the car but I was unable to do so. The door knocked me down on the concrete floor of the carport and the front left tire ran over both my legs. The car continued to go backwards, the door hit the column between the carport bays but continued to travel backwards down our approx. 11-foot paved drive way, crossed the dirt road and stopped when the back of the car went into the deep ditch that runs along the dirt road at that point. When my husband arrived, the car was still running and the lights were on. The man driving the wrecker for the local ema director and my husband all looked at the gear shift and the car was in park.

For 6 months I have had a shutter in the front part of my car. When I accelerate the car violently shakes. The car was under bumper bumper warranty when this problem started. I have taken it to my dealer on multiple occasions and they and their engineers cannot determine what is causing the problem. They have had several other Enclaves come in with the same issues. They replaced my transmission among other things and nothing fixes it. I have contacted Buick headquarters and I am only permitted to speak to customer service who only tells me the same thing that my dealership tells me. I am frustrated and don't know what to do. The problem is getting worse. The dealership says they are working with engineers and they cant seem to find the problem. I'm told my dealership has 6 other Buick Enclaves with the same issue and other dealerships he had some as well. There has been no warning icons show up. I have no copies of paperwork where my dealership has worked on my vehicle, but they have everything in their computer. My dealership is bob ross in centerville, ohio. I'm not sure if this is a safety issue or could become one since no one seems to know what is wrong with my vehicle.

While on free way transmission stopped functioning properly after exit unable to move vehicles in gear. Dealer said it was a computer programming issue. Another instance 9 months later care emergency break would not dis engage even after shutting vehicle off and restarting several times that transmission would stop shifting soon received messages dealer said it was a computer programming error .
While driving at highway speeds, with cruise control set the vehicle started to violently shake almost causing me to lose control of the vehicle. After having the vehicle inspected I was informed that the transmission is known to have an issue with the 3rd and 5th clutch pack causing the vehicle to shake when they are trying to engage. This is no lights on the dash and no other warning signs of said issue. I have an appointment to have the issue resolved which entails to have the transmission either rebuild or replaced.

The Buick did a hard turn to the left, without any action of the driver, and went into an uncontrollable counterclockwise spin and hit the concrete divider. Prior to the accident the Buick was traveling in the right south bound lane of us 75 with the traffic flow. There was a light rain and no one was changing lanes or speeding. No other vehicle skidded or went out of control. The cause of the accident was not the weather or driver error. Possible causes for the accident are: faulty steering system, faulty antiskid system, or a computer glitch. The dealer would not talk to us. The Buick has not been inspected. No one will inspect it.
My wife took a trip to springfield ill. From paris mo. On 5/5/21 she drove appox 50 miles toward springfield on i72 e. Her tachometer started shooting up about 5-6 thousand rpm at 70mph . Hot transmission light came on. I told her to stop an let it cool. The light went off and she put it in gear only to find she only had low gear. We took it to s & k Buick in springfield ill. Where they diagnosed it . The wave plate in the transmission had exploded. When we explained this vehicle only has 52,000 miles they or gm would do nothing for us. We find that ridiculous. They only used that transmission for 2 years and abruptly stopped using it. We have read of many of these with the same issue on the internet sites. Know they want us to pay nearly $5000. 00 to replace transmission. Once again this vehicle only has 52,000 original miles is garage kept and is pampered . This in our mind should be a recall and they should have some responsibity in this issue at general motors. Any help would be appreciated. Also Wednesday 5/19/2021 the dealer will have had this vehicle 2 weeks. Another joke.

The contact owns a 2010 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that after entering the vehicle, there was a knocking noise coming from the vehicle prior to starting the engine. After starting the vehicle, the noise became louder. While operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light remined illuminated and a humming noise was present. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who indicated that the transmission gear was faulty. The vehicle was serviced however, the failure persisted. No further information was available. In addition, after refueling the vehicle would not immediately start up. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
2010 Buick Enclave with 116,164 miles, just over 10,00 per year, engine developed a spun rod bearing and quit while driving. Steering lost power and engine stopped. I had to push it backwards to get out of an intersection. I had just started a right turn. 22 month earlier the timing chain stretched on the vehicle costing $2000 in repairs. Oil was changed every 5000 or less miles and used mobile 1 synthetic oil the entire time. This and owners of earlier model years report this same problem from this vehicle. A well maintained vehicle should not have these two problems which points to some failure in design or manufacture. Vehicle is now junk.
Vehicle jerks at low speeds when accelerating. Brakes grind when applied at hard braking or regular braking.
Engine light is coming on due to issue with timing chain. My mechanic said gm issued a service bulletin and gm offered extended warranty coverage to fix the problem for model year 2009 but not 2010 (which is my model year). It was a known problem and gm refuses to cover the repair of the timing chain replacement.
Second time in less than a month on a 2018 Buick Enclave that air conditioning unit/evaporator in vehicle is not working and vehicle is blowing hot air only. This occurs whether vehicle is in motion or stationary. This happens when vehicle is first powered on or over an extended drive (45 mins). Does not oscillate with change in speed. Does not oscillate with length of drive. Hot air blows the entire time and noise comes from dash that sounds like hydraulic door hinge.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that upon placing the gear shifter into park, the vehicle would revert into neutral as the circuit relay warning message appeared on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the contact was unable to remove the key from the ignition and was unable to restart the vehicle. She also mentioned that the vehicle began to rollaway as the failure occurred. The contact applied her emergency parking brake in order to stop the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact linked her failure to NHTSA campaign number: 09v073000( power train); however, her vehicle was not included in the recall. The dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. Jo.
Transmission needed replaced at 160,000, issue been goin on for about 1 year or 10,000 miles has had oil leaks, have had to fill fuild up regularly, seems like all of these gm, chevy, Buick and Saturn's all have had the same issue with transmissions.
Transmission is shifting hard. Was shifting hard only on a turn but is now shifting hard as you are just driving on a straightway.
In 2017 the timing belt failed with less than 100,000 miles on the vehicle. Timing belt replacement was over 2000 dollars. 2018 the check engine light came on india sting an issue with the caytalic converter. Have not repaired but vehicle will dye while driving. It quit working on interstate and I had to coast across five lanes to shoulder, where I was able to restart vehicle. This also happened on 2 lane highway. 2020 airbag light came on, stayed on for a few days and went out. Hit bump in road airbag light returns.
I bought a 2020 Buick Enclave, (owned by GMC) with 6 miles on it, 1 week ago. Yesterday the check engine light came on and the car started jerking anytime the transmission switched gears. I called to try to get it in to a certified Buick dealership to be looked at and nowhere can get it in for 3-5 days and none of the dealerships will give a loaner car until the time of the vehicle appointment. I contacted Buick directly regarding this and they told me the same thing, that we can't get a safe driving vehicle, until the one we have can be looked at by a dealership and if we take it to an un-certified shop that it would not be covered. So now I am stuck with either driving an unsafe car 50 miles on the highway to work for the next few days or not being able to go to work. This is a brand new car driven straight out of the floor room! Buick is putting people's life at risk by insisting that we drive this unsafe vehicle on the highway until we can get it looked at! looks like a huge lawsuit in the making!!!!!.
Bought brand new 2020 Buick Enclave, with 4 miles on it, on 6/13/20. Started having transmission problems almost immediately. The car would jerk hard (hard shift) when pushing on the gas and also anytime it was placed in park. On 6/21/20 the check engine light came on and the vehicle would barely shift. Called local Buick - gm dealership to get repaired. Local shop restarted computer on 6/24/20 and said that it was good to go. Drove it less than 3 miles before service engine light came back on and jolting started again. On the drive back to the dealership the vehicle came to a hard jolting abrupt stop on the road. Vehicle would no longer start or shift. Had to leave vehicle in the middle of the road until dealership could come get it. On 6/26/20 dealership called to say that the vehicle was running good and ready to pick up. On 6/27/20 drove car about 15 minutes before the hard shift started happening again and the check engine light came back on. When attempting to shift into reverse, the vehicle hard jolted us backwards and then died. The vehicle would no longer start or shift gears. On 6/28/20 got the vehicle to start so drove the vehicle, as it was still hard shifting, back to the dealership and dropped it off. The dealership still has it as of today and has refused to give us any paperwork from our previous 2 attempts at getting it fixed however gave us falsified documentation stating that we only brought it in the shop 1 time, when it actually is the 3rd time to be taken in for the same problem to be fixed. Gm has refused to replace this defective vehicle nor return our money paid for it.
The timing chain broke and my transmission needs to be replaced.
My car isn't leaking any oil so it is burning it and its it's under warranty still but they won't fix anything on it and other year and make models are having the same problem.

While driving my 2015 Enclave the vehicle jerks and the engine light comes on. Then starts rattling and steering wheel locks and my speed reduces to 40, 25 then 10-5 miles per hour, the warnings read engine power reduced, traction control off, service stabillitrak. I pull my car on the side of the street, wait a few minutes and sometimes turn on my car and rattles again. Need to wait a few more minutes and the starts, the engine light stays on for a few minutes, maybe couple hours or for a day and then clears up. I took it to my mechanic and no codes came up. My mechanic suggested to do a full service on my car which I did and still happening. This has happened several times, while I'm on highway or city streets. . Very, very dangerous. The video and pictures provided are from March/02/20, but I have this problem since fall last year( is when I first took it to my mechanic and performed a full service, picture provided) and last time happened to me was June/15/2020.

Codes p0017 and p0008 camshaft position sensor and crankshaft position keeps coming on driving and parked running. Even after replacing the sensor.
Shortly after getting gas, the car will rev to 2-3rpm when lightly accelerating, and seem to "run rough". Then, after coming to a stop at a traffic light, the car will auto stop and then shift into neutral. I can not shift back into drive without pushing the start/stop button to restart the car. It does not happen every time I get gas, but all 3 times it has happened have been after getting gas. The first 2 times it happened, I was told there was a recall, which was the cause, but this last time, there was no recall, and they said there were no error codes, so they do not know what is wrong. The car stalling episodes occurred in August 2019, September 2019, and February 2020. It may or may not be related, but in October 2019, there were also 2 instances of an "evap leak" that were fixed.
2010 Buick Enclave was driving at approximately 50mph, engine stuttered, lost power, and would not accelerate. Pulled over and engine would not restart. Towed to local repair shop and found the engine had blown, gears blew apart, timing chain shot. Full engine replacement costing almost $7,000. Mileage was 178,222. Additional issues to include rear suspension parts, brakes, rotors, wheel bearings (twice) due to defective parts. Rear lateral links both upper and lower (twice due to deffective parts). Car still does not ride properly after second replacement of parts and 4 all wheel alignments. Car sways terribly and rocks especially during higher winds. Very hard to keep on the road and dangerous.
Last couple years I been having problems with the transmission skipping, hesitating a lot the dealer told me there is big problem with the transmission in this vehicle and they told me I will need new transmission or it has to be rebuilt because it will get worse with time. My mechanic add some lucas to help smooth up the shifting and I did that twice and it getting worse now so I don't know what I will do because new transmission is costly and rebuild also. The problem accurac when I drive every day and it's happens when I be cruising and the car be hesitating and shaking and don't want to down shift and then feels like is stoling and will shut down and this happens all the time. This happens every time I drive so this is safety issue and this is happening to a lot of people and should be recall for the transmission in this vehicle as soon possible. Thanks.

Vehicle losses power, engine light came on, codes p0008, p0017, p0009- took it to shop and they said the oil was 3 qts low. I just had it changed within 60 days. They changed the oils and cleared the codes which were showing. I also had transmission fluid changes and a new front left transaxle installed. Wife drive the vehicle home, which is within 3 miles of shop. Engine came back on with the same three codes given above. Caleed back to shop next day, they said engine would have to be pulled and the chart said about a 21 hours job (they charge $68/hr). And said it would be about $2500 to fix. I see many posts online with this vehicle concerning this same issue. There should have been some type of recall on the timing chains/belts in these cars and like models.
I purchased a new 2018 Enclave in September of 2018. I received a recall letter for the vehicle sometime during the spring 2019 so I went to my dealer service department to get it check and I was told everything was fine. Then in September I noticed the check engine light came on and the vehicle would not accelerate properly so I took it to the dealer service dept. Asap. They told me there was an issue with the transmission. They said that because I had less than 5,000 miles this issue should not be occurring. It's been 4 months and I have not received a reasonable time frame for when my vehicle will be ready. My rights as a consumer have been violated because I received a defective vehicle, which put my family and I at risk. The same dealership offered to give me a loaner vehicle that ended up being defective as well. This dealership is selling defective vehicles. They have told me that about 50 other people are going through the same issue and the only I can do is be patient, but during the time I have incurred many damages and inconvenience and this deanship along with gm have not given me any sort of resolution for the past 4 months.
Takata recall in the almost 3 years I've owned my 2014 Buick Enclave, there have been 2 occurrences with the same transmission issue. The codes are: p0700, p182e and p0306. The engine light comes on and flashes for roughly 30 seconds. The first occurrence was in the city, about 35mph and the second was on the highway with a speed of 60mph. Both times I've pulled off the road and the light disappears. When I take it in, the codes are pulled and cleared. The mechanic can not get the code to reappear. My Buick has never shifted right, noticing padding and jerking before and after switching gears. The mechanic said this is a common problem with these transmissions and the repair bill will be around $3,500. 00 for a new transmission. A 5 year old vehicle should not be having these issues!! buying a 2 year old vehicle at $28k, owning it for less than 3 years and having to replace the transmission does not sit right in my book. Gm needs to fix this transmission problem and soon!.
I have had continuous problems over the last year with the stabilitrack system going off and it telling me to service stabilitrack. However, now my transmission is going out and I have a car that I owe way too much for and can't afford to get the transmission fixed. On top of the transmission my ignition only works part of the time. There is no point in replacing the ignition if the transmission is gone. I have already replaced the motor on the windshield wipers but apparently the previous owner had the motor replaced during the recall so I had to pay out of pocket for that. Not to mention spending over $200 just to get my headlight bulb replaced at a shop because its not simple enough to just take the cover off and replace the bulb. This car has been nothing but a money pit. The transmission has been acting a little strange like occasionally not wanting to shift one day and then being fine the next. The other day I was driving and it wouldn't shift, rev"d up to 4000 rpm and wouldn't go over 40 mph. I'm at the point where I can not afford to continue to pay full coverage insurance plus my car payment on a car I cannot drive.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that after driving into the garage and switching the gear shifter to the park position and after releasing the brake pedal the vehicle suddenly drove into reverse and crashed into the garage door. No police report or injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer brads cottage grove Chevrolet(2775 row river rd, cottage grove or) who diagnosed that the transmission shifter cable was faulty and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 40,000. Jft.
