The smartfloor rear passenger (driver side and passenger side) bucket seat seatbelt retractors do not release to allow a passenger to buckle the seat belt. Both driver side and passenger side retractors fail in the same manner. Passengers are not able to buckle themselves in. Service airbag light came on one week before airbags in the front driver in front passenger side ruptured on their own in the middle of driving. This is cars the seat belts and the front seats to lock up and we now have no airbags. We did bring it in to see if we could get it at least the steering wheel one replaced because of the recall but the dealership (todd wenzel) and grand rapids michigan stated that they refused to do it because they thought we were in an accident but you can clearly see we were not in an accident. The vehicle was also sold to me by a dealership that did not disclose the airbags had a recall and I did not find out until after the purchase was made.

I originally did front end collision repairs on this gm vehicle and I had to originally replace the front passenger seatbelt. I went through 3 apparent good used ones for replacement and all of them have had their fair share of difference from acting up. One of them seemed to work but every now and then the airbag light would come on due to seatbelt. Replaced it with another and frequently the airbag light would come off and on than the last one installed. The 3rd replacement seems to work but airbag light would come on again, not as frequent and would only shut off if seatbelt is pulled and retracted purposely by hand. I am not seeing a short or a wire problem but the seatbelt is not working properly and I believe gm has failed to produce quality front passenger seatbelts. Even all three of the seatbelt would not fully retract on their own without pushing it in by hand.

I was rear ended on the highway going 65 mph. The rear driver side was completely crushed. The air bags didn't go off. Seat belts didn't lock up and the driver's seat broke.
I was sitting in a drivethru line and reached down to tighten my seat belt because it felt lose and the entire steel cord that attaches the seatbelt to the front outboard seating snapped in half. There is a steel cord/cable that connects the pretensioner to the seat belt. This 1 inch thick cord was unraveled and severed. This gave me great concern because this cord was likely on the verge of snapping for many weeks prior to it snapping. A steel cord doesn't just randomly snap in half - so if I had I had a crash prior to it fully breaking - I could have been injured. In addition, I had to drive my vehicle with this defect until new parts could be ordered. I drove around for roughly 2 weeks with a non-functioning seat belt because I could not afford to rent a vehicle while I was waiting for mine to be repaired. When I took it to a shop for repair, they told me they had never seen anything like it in their 30 years of repairs. I have all receipts and documentation, and I have the original faulty part. To recap, I have never been a crash in the vehicle and cord snapping in half happened when I was sitting still and not moving. There is a recall on 2009-2014 Buick Enclaves for this exact issue, but my vehicle's VIN number does not fall within the recall. Specifically, the recall is for the flexible steel cable that connects the seatbelt to the front outboard seating may fatigue and separate over time. This is exactly what happened to mine, but it was not covered and I was never notified of the issue. I don't want someone to be in a wreck with a faulty/non-working seatbelt.
My light is on for airbag and I can’t seem to figure out maybe it’s seatbelt because it’s wrong it’s twisted and airbag says it’s off on passenger so I have a salvage title. Ty had a 2020 vw and a careless driver a young girl driving fast went airborne and left me without my brand new car and cars went off the top expensive it is not my fault this happened and I ended having to buy a used car and most all cars in dfw area high mileage n salvage I needed a car for my job in social services I do frontline work as u did during the pandemic that some idiot driver slammed into my other car I am a safe driver but these idiots on the road is the cause of all this. I need safety for my patients from mental health and other medical and I have children too so. I have also been treated like rudely by Buick and by the agent last third about a week or so ago. She said you have take it and it’s your responsibility to pay and that if I didn’t have the money it was up to me but I had to pay the cost. I said your saying I don’t have a airbag she no no that is not it and said my car was part of recalls but because it was salvage it was not covered and it was my responsibility. She was rude and so was the lady at freedom Buick in dallas, TX and she demanded the VIN # I also feel I was discriminated because both women weee anglo n I am hispanic so. . It has been the most ugliest treatment ever and last time was today by a anglo lady and I maybe more educated than her and the odiosity of her talking and tone was discriminatory she didn’t even say her name and only said she was some kind of supervisor at freedom dealer so that was today 7/9/22 so sad and she too said same as I told her I would let me leave dealership like that because I have a faulty airbag because of such reasons and she said no you can pay for it then we will look at it then that will go towards repairs again she discriminated and is not caring about injury or deaths so I am very sad this world is evil.
I attempted to put my seatbelt on the cable that attaches the seatbelt to the vehicle broke. If this had failed during an accident, my seatbelt would have failed. I have contacted GMC regarding the issue. They advised me that there was an extended warranty for this item but it has since expired on my vehicle. They are not willing to fix even though it is a big safety concern.

Child became entrapped in 3rd row seatbelt, seatbelt was unable to be released from locked position and it wrapped so tight around the child his airway was cut off, it wouldn’t come from around him, and had to be cut off.
Front passenger seat belt buckle twisted 180 degrees. Result is belt is twisted when fastened with discomfort and reduction in belt effectiveness. Increased risk of severe injury or death. Nucar chevy dealer denied warranty claim "because vehicle was not purchased at nucar".
I am writing because we purchased a 2010 Buick Enclave in 2018. Immediately after purchasing I noticed issues with the vehicle and it had to be serviced twice within a couple weeks of having it. At the time the service dept. Could not diagnose the issue and blamed it on my accidently touching the manual shift on the shaft. I knew I was not doing this. I have video of the car doing this weird acceleration and all during the last couple of years but vander hey kept saying the vehicle was fine. Well, I was stranded because it just stopped a few days ago and had to take a 50. 00 uber home. I have had to uber 3 times now and purchased a code reader. The code comes back as a timing chain stretched. It seems what I was feeling from the very beginning was in fact this issue. I am not happy about this. I have had to rent vehicles for the last 3 days and will have to have the vehicle towed back to my home tomorrow. Since this issue was brought to your attention from day one I expect it to be repaired at no cost to me and some of the charges I have accumulated be reimbursed. This is not just! I will be looking into the lemon law and if it applies to me. I am hoping your company takes responsibility. Had they paid attention to what I was saying and all then this would never have happened,. The stress and issues this has caused goes so much deeper than this the code that comes back is p0008. The crank shaft. I have read numerous reviews on this and will continue to carry this on. Furthermore the fact that there are recent issues with the power steering as well.

2 rear seat belts will not latch. Major safety concern as we use these seats.
Driver side 2nd row passenger's seat belt is not bolted to the frame. While driving this rental car on vacation, the paneling fell off revealing that the seat belt spool was hanging loose and not mounted to the frame. Based on what I can see from the threads, it appears never to have been connected (as opposed to being snapped off). This is a rental, but I don't trust the agency to report this appropriately so doing so myself. How this has gone unnoticed for 12k miles is beyond me.
We were driving our Buick Enclave on I 94 expressway near merriman road near detroit metro airport when we hit a construction zone. We slowed down to 15 mph when car behind hit us going full highway speed. There were 4 people in the car. 2 of the people (the driver and passenger behind the driver) did not have the shoulder seat belt hold. The driver hit the steering wheel and the passenger hit the back of the drivers seat. The airbag did not deploy. The answer from gm was a simple well it should have. We bought the car with 13000 miles from todd wendell in westland michigan. They said when they certify a used car they do not check seat belts. They said they would check on that a week ago and call back (they did not). Called back 4 days ago and no return call. Gm said they were going to look at the car but never did. I am about ready to send title to aaa and the car will be gone. Enclaves have a history of seat belt failure. I am here to say they have not fixed the problem. . They need to deal with this before others are hurt!.
I went to put on driver seatbelt, and it wouldn't retract. The passenger seatbelt is defective as well. Defective seatbelts leaves this vehicle unsafe and illegal to drive!.
I purchased this vehicle several years ago used and everything was working fine. Several months later, whenever a "passenger" sits in the front passenger seat, the check airbag and seat belt system message appears in the dashboard. After the seat becomes unoccupied, the message remains on. . . Sometimes for a couple of days, sometimes for a week, and sometimes for a month or two. Then it may stop showing the message until a person sits there again. This also happened when the vehicle was not running and the key was in my pocket. I went and applied pressure to the passenger seat and when I started the vehicle with an empty passenger seat, the message appeared again. I took my vehicle to the dealer and they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for the repair and I was thinking this should be a covered repair. What I am saying is the message appears that something is wrong and when someone sits in the seat.

My daughter ended up getting the seat belt twisted around her waist when she was trying to get out. The seatbelt was locked tightly around her waist and she could not get out. I tried turning off the car, unlocking the car, and pulling the seat release but the seatbelt would not unlock. We called the local fire department and the seatbelt had to be cut off.
The seat belt cable completely shared off where it attaches to floor. Came apart when trying to use.

Vehicle buckle latch is jammed/malfunctioning. Buckle does not accept latch and poses a severe accident threat to adults/children. Both captain chair buckles are affected. Normal wear is observed with the vehicle with child restraint car seats in both forward and rear facing, longevity of buckle system with infant car seats is jeopardized and rendered ineffective. Buckle mechanism is poorly made with plastic breaking apart. Metal prong is observed to be in the out/locked position and does not disengage. Previous to jamming buckle was hard to accept a latch.
Tl the contact owns a 2009 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. Also, the front passenger and rear driver's side seat belts would not lock. In addition, the tailgate was difficult to pull down and the tire sensor, air bag, and check engine warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the seat belts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v415000 (structure). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was unknown.
The passenger airbag off light come on for no reason while there is a passenger seated. We replace the seatbelt and seat belt sensor. The next code says to replace the seat sensor itself. That's a $1000 repair. And that does not ensure that the airbag will deploy. The seat belt replacement was supposed to fix the issue. Based on the codes. Will the airbag deploy in the event of an accident? we do not know. This occurs both when the vehicle is stationary and/or moving.
