Air Bag Light On Problems of Buick Encore

I am getting continuous emails saying that there has been an issue detected with my airbags. The airbag light will sporadically come on, and when someone is in the passenger seat the airbags do not always turn on.

My passenger side airbag light comes on the dashboard telling me that my passenger side airbag is off even with someone sitting in the seat. I tested it with my boyfriend sitting in the seat holding our 40lb dog. Combined, they weigh over 200lbs and then light on my dashboard still says the passenger side airbag is off. The vehicle was not in motion. It was turned on asked parked in the driveway. Driver airbag light stays on . This is the 4th time I have had this problem since ipurchased this vehicle on April 2017. Had it serviced the first three times but now the warrenty is out and here I am again with the air bag light on. This has been very frustrating and should not be happening so often. Now I am left having to pay someone to fix this again !.

When I my car stops at lights stop signs and auto stop kicks on and I take my foot off brake to go my air bag lights flashes and stays on for a second and then goes out while I'm driving all the time . Then recently when I was driving and ended up stopping and auto stop kicked on my car made a grinding noise and I couldn't move I was in the middle of busy street at light I had to put my car in park and shut the car off and restart it for it to even move this happened two different times to me I am very worried because no engine light comes on or nothing and it is very dangerous also my airbag light should not come on while I'm driving this aswell is dangerous.

Tl-the contact owns a 2018 Buick Encore. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph crashed into the corner panel of a unknown vehicle there were no warning indicator lights illuminated the driver frontal and floor air bags deployed. The contact sustained injuries to the legs and medical attention was provided. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the body damage was repaired. A police report was filed. There was no fire. Due to the crash. The local dealer was not contacted and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted who provided case number 9-5265716704 however,, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 6,000. Ap.

Air bag sensor defective. When passenger sits in seat the sensor indicator reads off. Took it to dealer today 3/15/2018 and they said it needs a new sensor. When they tested it with a 280 lb. Mechanic in passenger seat sensor said a child was in seat and it was on the off position. The air bag sensor had a recall previously and was taken care of and still having air bag problems. Have been driving with passengers in seat with no air bag protection. Had previously taken it in to dealer and they said no problem but pressed them as indicator still showed off no matter who sat in seat. Talked to GMC representative and all they had to say was we are so sorry. They were of no help at all. Have talked to several other Buick Encore owners and they have had air bag issues as well. These cars need another recall as the first recall did not fix the problem. This problem of air bag off was while vehicle is in motion when someone is sitting in passenger seat well over the weight limit. This has been an ongoing problem since January of this year.

A faulty clock spring assembly prevents the air bag system from functioning properly which poses a major safety risk. Air bag light comes on when driving.

Purchased a used 2013 Buick Encore with 21,115 miles. After two (2) months the passenger airbag light starting showing off when my wife was seated in the car, she weighs 110 lbs. It would come on then go off or not come on at all. Took car to nearby dealership, they stated "no problem, we can adjust the sensor all the way down to 85 lbs. " about half way home the passenger airbag off light came back on. After six (6) trips back to the dealership, which included replacing the seat sensor and the passenger presence module, the assistant service manager hooked up a computer to the car with my wife in the seat and the airbag light off. He said the computer was showing the seat occupied but the airbag disabled. He then stated he would have to keep the car and talk to the engineers at detroit. The next day I received a call from the service dept. Saying my wife would have to weigh 125 lbs before the airbag sensor would activate and it was normal for the airbag to be off and that it would actually be better for my wife if it the airbag didn't work. I find this totally unacceptable.
