On my way home in December 2025, my car started to sputter and make noises. All of a sudden the car started going about 10-15 miles. I almost go hit by several vehicles, because they had to put on brakes, I was trying to go up then down a hilly road. I finally was able to get to an auto advance shop, I had to tow the car to Honda then to Buick for a diagnostic test. It had been over a month and I can’t get information in writing what the diagnostic test results are. I’ve had to rent a vehicle for over a month, even though I have a lifetime warranty on my power train and motor. I have submitted all my service and repair paperwork to john miles Buick conyers georgia, the gm and service department, also I contacted GMC corporate office. I have been in a rental car for over a month that I can no longer afford. I don’t know where else to get results for my issue. Thank you, xxx. SUV has ran hot and had it towed on 3 separate occasions when this happened. Had thermostat and water pump replaced. Not fixed. Coolant keeps running out if bottom of SUV. It is at dealership and blown head gasket and probably much worse. Apparently these models have something wrong with cooling system. The engine cost will be about what I owe on it. Buick needs to pay for another engine for my SUV. I have a warranty but they won’t honor the engine replacement and I’m out of a vehicle.

The emc on the vehicle appears to be faulty. The vehicle is burning more than double the fuel than it should, and I’m able to smell a strong oil burning odor while driving it. The SUV lunges you forward violently when this defect begins to act up, which can be at any point in a short or longer trip. The vehicle has little to no power once this is triggered and seems to go into limping mode. I’ve had this to a dealer three times, and they have failed to repair the issue. The first time I left it there for almost a month and within three miles of the dealership, the same problem happened. The dealer denies that the repair should be covered under the emissions regulation, which makes gm-Buick responsible for repairs of this equipment until 8 years or 80,000 miles.

My Encore is full of mice and mice droppings. The man at the dealership said gm should have screens or other safety measures done at the factory. This car has just 10,000 mils and I keep it in pristine condition. People can't believe how clean I keep it and this happens??? the tech told me there are at least 8-10 spots were mice come in. It is too easy for them. My brand new car is going to be totaled or close to it. I have aaa, but am already with all the added fee's at enterprise car rental and my $500 deductible $700 out of pocket! I'm [xxx] and on a very fixed income. I'm still making car payments for the next 4 or 5 years. It's like never smoking and getting lung cancer. I didn't do anything wrong. Gm is responsible. The are very irresponsibly in their manufacturing. Should I get a lawyer? the man who's meeting with the adjuster from my insurance told me how dangerous it was for driving this car. He said the smell (which I was unfortunately used to it, it's called olfactory fatigue, also known as odor fatigue, olfactory adaptation,) was very toxic. Yes, gene hackman's wife died from the inhaling rodent waste. I'm a respiratory therapist and know about the toxic particular you don't see and how it can and will kill you. Something has to be done. I have had my vehicle to a gm dealer on a few occasions with the emc code stored in the vehicle and an active check engine light on. While I’m driving - now during 70 percent or more of my trips - my vehicle loses power very suddenly and lunges me forward. I’m unable to stop and go on hills of any noticeable grade and have narrowly missed being in an accident many times. The dealer’s service manager has told me I should just bf glad the car is drivable when I have expressed ongoing safety concerns. I cannot get assistance from gm nor from the dealer in having this warranty connected part replaced. I do not have any other vehicle to drive, and I know I’m unsafe. I teach school and must get back and forth to work.

On 4/24/25 I noticed a pungent odor (like rotten eggs). The odor is worse today. I did research and it appears there may be a problem and or leak with the catalytic converter. The emissions are making me and my kids feel sick, nauseous, headache, irritated eyes, etc.

Transmission whirring, vehicle is skipping while driving, gear/rpm not downshifting after acceleration.

While driving on interstate highway, cel illuminated. When able to stop and check, dtc codes p1467 & p146b where detected. These codes deal with the evap purge system. The pump was recalled in model year 2021 for the make, model and engine in this vehicle. Failure to fix this issue results in increased fuel vapor escaping to the atmosphere as well as potential system damage. Since the same part was faulty in the previous model year, it seems gm did not correct the issue. A recall should be issued or an extended warranty with reimbursement in the 2022 model year also. All wheel drive system & all wheel drive off warnings 4 different times one time lost the ability to steer once to dealership can not duplicate & the lights are off so can't get codes they said. There is a recall for same issue on same vehicle for same year but says my VIN isn't included. Jan. 16 may 3 may 6 may 21 all of this year. Had warranty on car when started said only bumper to bumper would cover it. Car only had 48,839 miles when first happened. Still only has 51,852 miles.

My all 4 tires blew in the past years. It was due to defective tires that I was not aware of. It could have meant death or injury consequences for me and the passengers of the vehicle.

I have an automatic transmission. When I am stopped at a traffic light on an incline, the car will sometimes roll backwards with my foot on the brake or when changing my foot to the gas pedal to move forward once the light changes. The more the incline; the worse the problem. This happens at a bus stop in a community with an incline and kids at a bus stop. This feeling is as I am driving a manual vehicle. It's not a good feeling knowing that there's children around and knowing that we want our children around for the future and something like this happens with a vehicle, the service department in the dealership cannot find what the problem is. This has happened to my car more than once. I have complained about it once and I am complaining about it again. I have low mi on my car and now, this has happened between the low miles of my car after purchasing up to miles. I have on it now . I've got 110,000 mi on my car and it still is not being repaired and is still happening. And it's bad. Once the car is paid off it turns into multiple problems with my car. Up.

The 2021 Buick Encore was listed by the NHTSA as having a parts recall with the evaporative emission purge pump, yet when I look up my VIN and talk to the dealer, I’m told the vehicle is not recalled, even though I’m having the exact same issue that was described in the recall. I’ve been delaying servicing because I was told the part was on back order but now they have it in stock and I’m hoping I don’t have to pay for it since my issue is the same one that was listed in the recall.

When I apply brakes the car accelerates instead of stopping. This occurs randomly and not all the time. It has occurred at traffic lights or when I am at a location to park the SUV. I was in a accident in may which caused damages to another car. I reported this to gm back in may of this year and they stated that they sent a engineer to inspect the car and could not find anything wrong. At that time the car had been towed to the dealership. I went and picked the car up it drove fine for a while and now its back doing the same thing again. It will run thru red lights, stop signs and doesn't stop when I pull into parking spaces, this is very dangerous, I am getting the run around with general motors. I need some one's help before someone gets injured or killed with this vehicle. I hope its not me.

Engine, vehicle purchased end 2019. Several repairs, new battery, some warranty repairs. March of 2022 po131 - ho2s po171 fuel trim lean po300 engine misfire evap system flow po496 p1101 intake airflow uo401, 71 invalid data from the motor. Jun 2023 need a new engine 10k (dealership) sought out 2nd opinion 8k for new engine vehicle has been dead ever since. Repairs surpass what’s owed.

The cooling system malfunctions. Repaired six times in a year. Overheats. Coolant issues.

During lane departure the size of the rear view mirrors do not display a vehicle in an adjacent lane until it’s too late. However, although the lane departure does notify the driver with a flashing light in the mirror the flashing light is easily missed. An audible warning would be more effective when the turn signal is activated. I departed my lane nearly colliding with an unseen vehicle.

At approximately 1130am, pulling into parking space in a parking lot at very low speed, 50% of vehicle was in the parking space, when suddenly the car accelerated forward. This resulted in my vehicle jumping over a safety curb and crashing into a building resulting in damage to my vehicle.

This car has front and back wheels differential issues. I bought this car last month and was on the highway when I heard loud clicking noises and tried to reverse and almost hit another driver. I took the car to 4 repair shops and was told to send it back to carvana or Buick because of mechanical issues where pep boys decline to repair for they didn’t have the heavy equipment so I finally got the car towed for the fifth time to faulkner Buick in trevor’s PA where it’s currently at! also I found out from Buick that they car had a major brakes and rotors problem that I didn’t did for as I stated I just bought this car last month and was not put 100 miles on it and I can’t afford to get it repaired! carvana isn’t supportive of the above issues and I want my money back ASAP!.

When I pulled into a parking space at docs office, my car suddenly lurched forward very fast, over the curb and into rocks. I had foot on brake and put in reverse, only to have it reverse very fast and hit a parked car! I was shocked! it had a mind of its own! this has never happened before. I do recall that sometimes when I back out of garage at home, I keep foot on brake and it seems like it wants to “go”. I read on a website that another Encore had very similar incident as mine. My son found online “transmission slipping” problems with Buicks. I am so thankful no one was walking in the parking lot at the time it happened. Problem has not been reproduced. . Police officer didn’t know if there was any recalls for this either. I put a claim in with state farm and they recommended an auto shop to go to, a few blocks from my condo. I went today (carstar auto) and they looked at damage. They are trying to order parts for it. He said I can drive it, but honestly, I am afraid this will happen again. I have to go to work, so I’m hoping this doesn’t happen again. I don’t know what to do. The only warning I had on dashboard was to replace the battery in my key fob. I went to o’reilly’s auto store and bought battery and my friends adult son replaced it for me. Most damage is to rear. Some in front underneath I can’t see. Man at carstar auto saw it.

Turbo charger malfunction. Confirmed by dealership and had to be replaced. Stabilitrak malfunction. Car is stalling out at a red light or stop sign, and/or jerking hard. Stalled out in middle of an intersection with my children in the car. Ongoing problem.

Stabilitrak warning comes on and car stalls out. Passenger seat belt doesn't clip person in correctly.

Unable to use radio/rearview camera putting at higher risk of crashing when backing out.

I pulled out of a gas station and about 1 mile down the road my car all of a sudden would not accelerate; it was stuck at a maximum of 35mph. The transmission/check engine light did not go on for at least another mile until I was able to pull off the side of the road. Car was towed to a local aamco where it was determined that entire transmission failed with no warning whatsoever.

I recently put the back seats down to put some boxes back there. It is stuck down. I don't know if the seat itself is stuck or if the seatbelt is messed up in there. Either way. I need my seat back up.

The stablitrak light came on and vehicle has a throbbing coming from rear of vehicle, taking vehicle into have checked as when you apply brakes it is felt. The throbbing also happens when vehicle is stationary and dealer advised not to drive.

Hacker its being able to change stereo and penetrate into the unit and manipulate car settings as he's please. Dangerous while I am driving.

Purchased new Buick Encore 2020 on 05/22/2000. Previous vehicle was Honda civic. Encore never seemed to have enough power & would downshift. On 10/19/20 there was an issue action requested) detected by Buick but I was not notified. Then on 10/28/2020, we were diving the vehicle when it seemed to loose power & an 18 wheeler almost hit us. Encore has 5,302 miles on it. 10/28/20 3:41 p. M. Message from Buick dx. The engine and transmission system is not performing as expected. An issue has been detected in the air induction system which monitors and controls air intake to the engine. We were traveling from medical appointments & almost did not make it home. The vehicle is very dangerous & is at the dealer now. I am severely disabled & ill and bought this vehicle for medical appointments out of town. It has clearly had a problem since it was purchased. I will not pick up the vehicle from the dealership no matter how they try to fix it at is extremely dangerous when loosing power. We were on an interstate when this started happening. Thank you.

Oct 9th - I was coming home from work on October 9th after working a 12-hour shift. It was dark. I was going south on happy valley. I pulled up to a four-way stop on happy valley and victory road. I started to pull into the intersection. A girl traveling east to west didn't stop at her stop sign. When I got in the middle of the intersection, she hit me. The speed limit was 45 mph coming from her direction, but I do not know how fast she was traveling. She hit my car and it spun my car. I remember hitting my head 2 times on the side window and my body twice against the door. My airbags didn't deploy. My car faced the airport when it came to a stop and was facing west.

The airbags is displaying off despite who is sitting on it. It's been going on for about a year since start of covid and it isn't turning on. Also, the backup camera is not working properly and suddenly displaying very dark and not showing up properly.

When I my car stops at lights stop signs and auto stop kicks on and I take my foot off brake to go my air bag lights flashes and stays on for a second and then goes out while I'm driving all the time . Then recently when I was driving and ended up stopping and auto stop kicked on my car made a grinding noise and I couldn't move I was in the middle of busy street at light I had to put my car in park and shut the car off and restart it for it to even move this happened two different times to me I am very worried because no engine light comes on or nothing and it is very dangerous also my airbag light should not come on while I'm driving this aswell is dangerous.

As far as I can determine there is no recall concerning tires on 2018 Encores. Yet at only 19,334 miles on my Encore I had to replace a tire because the tire store could not get the tire repaired. Their comment was that the pncuture on the tread area was too large to accept a patch. Thus I spent $172. 25 for an equivalent new tire. If Buick is not capable of providing tires that will last past 19,000 miles then they need to do a quality check. The "factory" tire I had to replace wasa continental tire (p215/ 55r/ 18 rated at 94h.

Engine has 66,164 miles on it, it is using 1. 4 quarts every 1500 to 2000 miles. I've kept maintenance on time! had to add oil and at 68,132 miles had to put 4 quarts in this is second time. I'm told its all Buicks are doing this? $12. 00 every 2000 miles? engine light says on! napa - prodemand read out. This SUV is on city streets.

My hood popped open while driving on highway. The car notified me while I was driving. I have dash cam and pictures. I pulled over and closed hood. This is a brand new vehicle. Aside from my main concern above, my apply car play has trouble working with the vehicle system. This happened many times in the last month. The vehicle notified me I was low on fuel several times when I had almost a full tank. It happened when I started the engine in the last week.
