85,000 miles bought new. Was having hesitation and power issues, experienced increased fatigue the longer I drove. Took it in for service at 85,000 miles and the turbo pvc valve was bad as well as the catalytic converter. I’ve never had a catalytic converter go bad on any vehicle in my 42 years of driving. Cost = $2,000 for just the catalytic converter and extended warranty covered. Advised at time of being repaired that blind spot monitoring on right side of passenger mirror was malfunctioning. The dealer insisted I make a separate appointment which is another $100 CO-pay so they can fix it. I was told the insurance company may delay or deny the claim. I know that can’t be true but my boyfriend has cancer and need the vehicle back ASAP for his treatment transportation. Sounds like problem with Encore.

Turbo has underboost, car runs fine other than losing power, all fluids look good.
After driving the Encore for 30 minutes then making stops at different places a few minutes apart, when the car is started there is a smell of gas inside the car. Does not happen when starting the Encore for the first time of the day. I was inside the store from 5 minutes to 30 minutes, has happened several days now.

Check engine light came on and then started flashing while in motion. The traction light came on and off repeatedly. The engine had reduced power and at times would only go 30-35mph even with pedal mashed all the way. I took the vehicle to oreilly's and they checked the codes which show camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, cylinder 2 misfire, turbo underboost code and abs code. Seems like a lot of issues for a vehicle with only 67,000 miles.

Poor acceleration causing increase in force on gas pedal. Happens at random times while on flat surfaces, going up hill, around curves with ac on or off. Once acceleration kicks in, speed increases causing the need for applying the breaks. Requires additional space when pulling out on the road to ensure enough time to achieve proper speed. Took to certified dealership for service. Tech unable to duplicate issue and since no codes or service light, they are unable to fix the issue. Picked up the car from dealership. Next day issue continues. Car would also continue to accelerate when foot removed from pedal (almost like cruise control was on), pressed on breaks which did not make a difference. Had to move to side of road & continue try & stop. Made a second appointment to return car back to dealership. Afraid of transporting people in vehicle due to unknown/sticking accelerator issues.

Code po300 ignition coil arcing to the valve cover random cylinder misfire.
The engine oil cooler is leaking. The front driver axle shaft seal is leaking. The car is running too lean the check engine light is on. I replaced the air filter and clean fuel injectors and the car is sputtering and the check engine light is still on. The car sputters when stationary as well as moving.
The 2017 Buick Encore would blow out a large amount of white smoke and die in colder weather anytime you step off the gas pedal. It did re-start, however would die several time immediately until it stop smoking. Once it hesitated at highway speed when I let off the gas due to traffic and almost died. The dealership stated that the car computer showed no problems and nothing could be done. They admitted it should have recorded the problem I had, but did not. But the computer was still trustworthy to advise if the car had a problem. I has two near collisions due to the care problems just a few weeks prior to taking it in. I was advised that it was not possible to obtain a print out of the what the inspected because it was in the computer and non-printable. I feel the vehicle is unsafe to car, not knowing if the engine will just stop, and not able to find out why it stop in the beginning. The dealership advised I may need to wait till nest winter to check it again. The fact it almost cause an accident was not important.
Cracked valve cover first occurrence was August of 2017. This was replaced under warranty. Second occurrence happened January 6,2019. This occurrence caused multiple failures and cost me $727 to have repaired. Symptoms were noticeable off shift points due to lack of power and too much air to turbo . Also a surviving of the engine when going up steep hills . This is a known issue as both times the dealer knew what the problem was and had parts on hand to fix . I took video of both times for my records.
Experiencing oil blow by in cylinder block and catylic converter failure.
I purchased this vehicle in 2017 with only 45,000 miles, 1 year warranty was purchased. I have had constant issues with tires, but more seriously I have had over $2000 in repairs for intake manifold, air conditioning, various issues with tires, repaired thermostat. I had an ignition problem repaired in 2019 and now the check engine light keeps flashing, the motor doesn't want to engage and I am in fear for my life that I will be on the highway and it will just shut down, causing a collision!.
I went to start my car in the morning after it sat at night, it was in driveway (I had driven the evening prior) and it smelled of fuel when I started it. Nothing noted leaking from under the car anywhere.

I submitted a prior report. My car was in driveway and I went to start it in the morning. I had been out in evening prior. I started my car and it smelled like fuel. I had to take it in after I test drove it on way to the dealer for service (lucky I was off that day. It had a fuel leak and needed a hose replaced. To me this is a serious failure of a part with only approx. 6500 miles on it.
2/2017- purchased new 2016 Buick Encore at honolulu GMC in first 2 years- dealership replaced 4 batteries I have all stock items I haven't added/upgraded anything on the vehicle they said I had no warranty after 50,000 miles which was a lie after having to replace the battery 2 more times and water pump once successfully and not at their dealership. 1/2021 I found the original purchase papers, while deep cleaning car before taking in to be fixed elsewhere and then GMC admitted I had an extended warranty. Due to long wait times nearest appointment in 2/2021. 2/2021 took to fix a/c blowing warm, engine lack of and losing power (which we took in for this before and they said nothings wrong just needed an oil change or something, gotta find paperwork for that repair to be sure) and parasitic battery test they didn't do the battery test (of course they didnt) they fixed the a/c but instead of using the warranty, charged me a higher diagnosis fee and never filed the claim, said the engine was due to subpar spark plugs we took back our car and replaced spark plugs with denso. There was still the same problems. 3/23/2021 now they're saying cylinder 1 and 3 spark plugs are stuck want to charge $2500 for full fix, warranty will cover $1300, balance is for gaskets and liquid refill. Note: no one changes the settings in a torque wrench in the middle of doing spark plugs. How is it only 2 are seized? they're lying I need a lawyers help putting this here in case any one else had similar. Multiple other issues in between these. I have video recordings of some of these instances and paperwork for each repair.
The vehicle is new, has 250 miles, was purchased from penske Buick in cerritos, CA. Several mornings it has either failed to start, or started and promptly failed, when put in gear and the engine has shut off. The vehicle engine stopped during a turn onto a city street, causing a near collision with parked cars. I have taken the vehicle to penske cerritos, CA on 2-4-17 along with a letter detailing the safety issues and near collision.
The Buick Encore has 15,000 miles on it, the last 2,000 miles or so the engine hesitates any speeds. It does not stall but it keeps hesitating. The car has been taken to the dealership twice, the problem has not been fixed.
The contact owns a 2013 Buick Encore. The contact stated while accelerating from a complete stop, there was an excessive reduction in the engine power and a warning light illuminated. The vehicle was maneuvered cautiously to the side of the road, where the engine was turned off. After restarting, the vehicle resumed normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who discovered a failure code related to the fuel system. The mechanic was unable to detect the component that contributed to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000. The VIN was unavailable.
