I brought my car to my mechanic for regular inspection. I have a strange noise in the steering base when I turn the wheel or apply the brakes. He told me it was in the steering coloum and my airbag light comes on and will not go off. I found that there was a recall for the brake pedal pushrod retainer and I went to the Buick dealership and they told me there was no problem, yet I have a vehicle history summary for it. How can I get it fixed if they deny it?.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that while backing out of the drive way and turned the steering wheel, there was an abnormal noise that came from the steering column without warning. The failure recurred on several occasions while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed that the knuckle at the bottom of the steering column was not equipped with a grease fitting and was the cause of the abnormal noise. The entire steering column would have to be replaced if he wished to have the steering column no longer make the abnormal noise. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000. Sw greese fitting.
