Our family was returning home after a trip out of town and as we were pulling into the driveway going less than 5mph the power steering goes out. However, indicator power steering light was already on from a similar issue reported previously where I was traveling in the city limits going 55-60 mph which was fixed by a non GMC dealer about a year ago. Current mileage 100,000 and first initial incident occurred at 77,000 miles. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Additionally, my engine check light came on last month and my vehicle service codes eluded to a short in the electrical system causing vehicle to intermittently lose power. The service check light comes off and on at will depending on the day which is a hazard because it can pose a risk to safety at any time coupled with the steering issue equals danger danger. The electrical system service codes were diagnosed by a non GMC dealer.
The climate control systems have stopped working. The temperature is locked to the last set temperature and blower zone (blowing lightly on feet only). It is available for inspection upon request. This is a significant safety issue as the climate control panel will not power on, affecting defrost for all windows. This is especially dangerous in michigan during the winter months due to the need for defrost during spontaneous/lake effect snow. No defrost can cause significant visibility issues, which put the safety of the driver, passengers and others at risk. This malfunction also creates a safety issue because the vehicle is unable to be heated up properly when temperatures drop. This problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by an independent service center, nor has it been inspected by anyone. There were no warning lamps. My son (ralph) has been helping me with this issue.
Constantly been having engine problems. Engine light coming on and off. I was driving it down a highway, coming to a stop due to a red light when the whole front of my car begin to sputter and gave out. It read "stabiltrak" but when taken to the shop it only read a code for the carbon filter. Which, was changed and did fixed the problem for the time being. However, its doing the same thing again. . Which is very dissapointing because its a very well kept up with car, never goes without its necessities. . And at this point I'm thinking it could be my braking system due to this problem weakening my brakes but I don't see why because those were changed about 6 months ago. Maybe, even an electrical problem with my traction control.
Abs track light on got alignment still on now hub bearing and strut need to be replaced.
I was driving and service power steering message came on and all of a sudden my steering wheel got so hard I couldn't even turn my wheel it was so hard to pull over I put my hazard lights on so I could let traffic know im having trouble with my car it happened 3times the first time 2020 second time 2021 and 2022.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Buick Lacrosse. While starting the vehicle, the steering wheel was difficult to turn and the service power steering message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that an electrical failure occurred. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 9-5658773931. The contact stated that the failure was similar to NHTSA campaign numbers: 13v173000 (electrical system) and 13v097000 (power train, electrical system). The failure mileage was 70,000.
Radio and dash components cut out and go black. Then when they come. Back on a service battery message comes on the display but goes away withing a second or two. And the power steering will stop while all this is happening if turning.
Power drop ,engine stop run as you go down the road at night, everything shut down it take fifteen minute to restart, the steering jerk and the did no work its was lock that was at 35 miles hour. Took its in to see what was wrong its was diagnostic with bcm malfunction, low voltage of communication andeprom errors, multiple codes. On the highway and turning.
I had the car repaired last year around this time with an issue saying that the battery charging system needed to be serviced. At the time I had recently bought a battery but the shop informed it could be due to a dead cell in the battery 1 year exactly and the same issue occurs. It start with the check engine light being displayed then it will start sending the message and battery light comes on. There should not be another dead cell battery. There is definitely an issue with the charging system of these cars. This will cause the vehicle when in eco mode to restart cause power loss whe driving and also cause the radio, navigation ect to loss brightness. The car releases loud sound for the a/c and defrost thumping and ticking also sputtering when accelerator is touched. Even when switching from park to any other gear is when this is heard regarding when a/c heat or defrost is on . This is during driving or after starting car. Originally happened 10/12/18 happening again as of 10/18/2019.
Tamara recall-the car only has 67000 miles on it, and for some reason it is using oil. There is exhaust fumes/smoke coming out of the tail pipe. There have been occasions where it has not started. I took it to the dealership where I purchased it brand new off of the showroom floor in 2014, and they did a diagnostic on it; and inform me that they can find nothing wrong. Why all of the sudden is the oil pressure down so low and my warranty will be up at 70000 miles. I asked the technician to examine the drivetrain and other components covered under the warranty; but they refused. Also the screen on the satellite radio and clock fades out and comes back on. The dealership failed to provide a response to this as well. I need answers to determine the cause of the engine and electrical problems, but if the dealership where I purchased the vehicle cannot answer the questions; what is left to do to get it repaired properly? the car is stationery when the screen fades out and also the inside lights go out periodically as well as the headlights. What can be done? we need assistance. Gm needs to know that this dealership is providing less than satisfactory service.
Service stabilitrack comes on and reduces engine power. Happened this morning driving on the freeway almost caused a huge wreck because I had nowhere to go and couldn't go the freeway speed.

While operating the vehicle when coming to a stop the vehicle will cut off suddenly without warning at random times. It seems to be after the car has been driven for more than about 15 minutes at a time. This can happen when stopping just for a moment in stop and go traffic, or when stopping for a traffic light. A light comes on in the car that says service battery charging system. This is very dangerous, and since it only happens occasionally, it has been difficult for my auto mechanic to diagnose the problem.

Transmission shifts down by itself when driving or switches gears. Took to rick hendrix Buick in duluth, GA for service and they said nothing was wrong with it. Power shortly afterwards went out and I had to replace the entire power steering system. Also change car battery but it continues to gradually lose power and gives of a type of burning burning smell.
Was at a stop light getting ready to pull off car lost all power including radio, was almost rear ended. I was on a city street. Also no matter what type of windshield wiper I have put on this car. They don't seem to keep the windshield clear.

The vehicle was taken to joe johnson Chevrolet (1375 s market st, troy, OH 45373, (937) 573-4252) for inspection, but provided no specific testing and diagnosis. The power steering went out and the electrical no power 3 times since November 2016.
Purchased car a little over two years ago and in that time it has been in the shop for repairs numerous times. The problems that continues to occur is the check engine light comes on and the car cannot stay running. It loses power at stop lights, been pushed at gas stations and has even stopped running pulling onto the interstate. Taken it to the Buick dealership and each time they claim to have "fixed" it. This car was in the shop two weeks ago exactly and the check engine light is back on and the car continues to stop running (full tank of gas) for no reason. I do not have an additional car to drive, so when it is in the shop I have to rent one or borrow one, along with the costs to get this car "fixed" I am looking at about four thousand dollars since November 2015. The Buick dealership in twin falls, idaho needs to figure out what is wrong with this car and get it fixed for good. This is not ok. Who spends this much money on a 2013 car, only to have repair bills and a car that is still not fixed! on a side note, weren't a large majority of 2013 Buick Lacrosse's recalled? if so, I have never been notified. Shame on you Buick for selling such a poor running and unsafe care and shame on rob green Buick in twin falls, idaho for not fixing a problem after our car has been in your shop at least four times since November 2015 for the same problems that have been reported time and time again.
My car has recently had reduced battery power and strong burning smell in the back similar to the problems with recall 13v173000. However, my VIN was not part of the recall. The dealer said it was inspected and the part was determined to be fine, however, now it would seem as though my car should have been included, as it is now experiencing the same problems. I don't have tangible evidence because I didn't drive it long enough for the trunk to catch on fire.
The heads up display has been fading in and out since early 2014. It has been replaced twice as well as the dimming switch for it has been disconnected and it still fades out and then sometimes will fade back on or just pop back on. The car is now off warranty but I feel since it has been worked on numerous times since 2014, Buick should cover this problem. I called Buick last week and was given a case # but can't find it right now. I have the records if a case is started and so does Buick.
Vehicle engine light (malfunction indicator lamp) came on; 5 minutes later charging system light came on with warning that "charging system not working". Shortly thereafter, power steering went out and then abs light came on and then car shut down completely. After reading complaints about 2012 Buick Lacrosse looked in engine compartment and found that the serpentine belt was shredded. Vehicle being towed to dealer in morning.
