12 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2014 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 12/20/2019

I was on the highway on the interior lane at 75 mph when all the sudden I got a audible and visual alarm indicating steering failure. I then got the same for stabiltrak failure. The steering assist was obviously gone immediately and the car started floating back and forth. I had my wife and 92 year old mother-in -law with me and it was misting heavily so I carefully continued to drive at a reduced speed. I took the car in and they said the steering was not getting electricity. Also, they said the passenger side rear wheel sensor went out which caused the back and forth motion. The car dealership wants to charge me $3400 for the repairs. I see that there were recalls on other gm products for the steering on similar models I. E. Cadillac etc. I found several instances online for Buick Lacrosse but for some reason not all were reported. I bought this certified vehicle may 2018 with 19,520 mi. Which is at around 42,500 mi. Now. I am very concerned about the safety of this product in the future and would like for n. H. T. S. A to take another look at this steering issue and why these two issues with the sensor and the steering occurring at the same time.

In 2018 the air went out in the vehicle and then the abs light cane on. A few days later the check engine light was displayed and then the next day the battery completely died. I took it to the shop and had it fixed. They said that battery was missing a cell and they replaced the battery, fixed the air conditioning basically fixed all issues. Fast forward to a year to the date the same issue started again in that order. The car has officially cut off and I searched and there are no open recalls coming up for my VIN number.

16 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 08/19/2019

My 2012 Buick Lacrosses newest problem is one that actually scares me. I can be driving along at 65 miles an hour and it will kinda jerk a couple of times, then usually it will flash 'service the stability track' then I lose power steering and it dies. I'm lucky if I can make it to the side of the road. I live in a rural area and the highways around here are two lane with minimum shoulders. So when the car does this it is dangerous. It has happened 5 times now. It will restart after about 15-30 minutes and drive just fine. I've taken it to a mechanic and nothing shows up on the computer, everything looks good. But its not, this is by far the worst of the problems I've experienced with this car and there have been quite a few.

23 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 03/29/2019

Driving my car was just great on my 81st day of ownership it all changed I was leaving a red light in vicksburg off the interstate onto warrenton rd I experienced loss of all power to everything in the vehicle and if anyone is familiar with that road the are hardly any room to pull over so bad that if I had a passenger hey would have to climb over to the driver side to get out or else slide right into the mississippi river, talk about bad timing with the exception for the radio the vehicle would only click once no abnormal smells smoke or anything that would cause me to think of any engine damage. After hours of waiting the tow truck came checked the car tried to boost it and couldn't get a charge after getting it home I took the battery to the advance auto parts to charge it and they said it was a dead cell so j brought another battery got it home just for it to click still no crank, it's push to start so it was just one single click and the engine light is the only light on the dash that would illuminate. So I called onstar they told me it needed to be taken to a dealer immediately due to a charging issue after taking it back to the dealership they said it's the motor locked up which is obserd due to the fact there was no indication of it doing anything abnormal before it shut down and with it being new I was told it would shut down before it ran hot and mess up the engine and also makes me wonder why it would even be considered because of the fact of the engine protection mechanism. Now the vehicle is at the dealership just sitting there and I have no way to work and still have to pay car note and insurance on a vehicle I don't even have access to anymore. The dealership is dixon auto and body sales and I'm stuck waiting with nothing to look forward to as far as a ride.

24 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2011 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 02/19/2019

Driving 60 mph on the highway. Suddenly the information panel flashed stabilitrak service required (or similar) then low power mode. Car went from 60 to 30 mph on the highway. Unable to speed up. Needed to pull over to the side of the road. Turned car off. Tried to restart and it wouldn't restart for several tries. Restarted and still said low power and was idling low. Tried again and was normal. This has happened several more times and always is similar. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all in a 30 mile trip, sometimes it happens 3 times. Very dangerous! could be rear ended! I have read many other accounts of this happening in the 2011 Buick Lacrosse. After this the check engine light stayed on. When I had the auto parts store run diagnostics it flagged multiple misfires, throttle position sensor 3 times, power control module indicator, traction control. It seems this is a flaw in this car. I attempted to get a picture of the satbilitrak sensor indicator light, but it flashes on and off pretty quickly and you never know when it will happen.

25 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 09/01/2018

Over the two years, while driving, the service stabilitrak warning light comes on; the abs & park assist lights flash on and off; my rpm, speedometer, & temperature gauges go haywire; and the engine loses power causing the car to jerk. This happens while the vehicle is in motion at various speeds. You never know when this will happen. I have been put in dangerous situations when this happens while driving including on side streets and major highways. The check engine light also comes on and stays on throughout the rest of my drive. You can go sometimes weeks or months incident free and with no check engine light on. Then out of nowhere it happens again. I have taken my car to the dave sinclair Buick / gm dealer located in st. Louis, missouri on 4 separate occasions over the last 2 years for the same issue yet to no avail it is still not fixed. The dealer's tech said my cars problem is almost certainly electrical. So far they have found multiple codes for ecm (they replaced at my cost) & tcm lost communication pcm malfunction & other communication issues (they reprogrammed). They have driven the car and have duplicated the issues but to this point have not been able to pinpoint the problem but said that it's electrical. I contacted Buick and chatted with an advisor (a copy was uploaded) who basically told me there is nothing that they can do. A quick search of the internet will show several other Buick owners experiencing the same issue as I describe. This is a very dangerous situation & I don't feel safe driving the car since I never know when the car will suddenly lose power, thus causing an accident.

26 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 07/19/2018

Tamara recall-the car only has 67000 miles on it, and for some reason it is using oil. There is exhaust fumes/smoke coming out of the tail pipe. There have been occasions where it has not started. I took it to the dealership where I purchased it brand new off of the showroom floor in 2014, and they did a diagnostic on it; and inform me that they can find nothing wrong. Why all of the sudden is the oil pressure down so low and my warranty will be up at 70000 miles. I asked the technician to examine the drivetrain and other components covered under the warranty; but they refused. Also the screen on the satellite radio and clock fades out and comes back on. The dealership failed to provide a response to this as well. I need answers to determine the cause of the engine and electrical problems, but if the dealership where I purchased the vehicle cannot answer the questions; what is left to do to get it repaired properly? the car is stationery when the screen fades out and also the inside lights go out periodically as well as the headlights. What can be done? we need assistance. Gm needs to know that this dealership is providing less than satisfactory service.

31 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 12/04/2017

We purchase a eassist 2012 Buick Lacrosse in Feb. 2017 with 46845 miles. We recently started having several issue either when in slow motion backing up out of a parking space or turning on a city street with the car doing a hard jerk, surging forward then loosing complete power! , not being able to see in the dark as all the light shut off, can't steer the car with no power steering, all the while in the line of traffic is definitely a safety issue that has been reported by other people years ago by my research and still no recall?!?! just the other night the same thing happened and we were about 20 minutes from home at night having to travel through the mountains, feeling the car not wanting to accelerate and feeling the surges was quite scary! we have had the car looked at but they couldn't find what was wrong with it. The check engine light came on a few times over the last month but shut off automatically within the same day. One morning before work I noticed a message on the dic to service stabilitrak. We have had the car in the shop several times but they were unable to detect the issue to fix it or to get the car to do what we are telling them it's doing and the check engine light is no longer on. Again the safety issue with the loss of power while in the line of moving traffic is unacceptable and must be made right with the cars owner!.

32 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

I have taken my car to several shops in regards to my headlight and no one can figure it out. One headlight in out which are my low beams. The entire car has been rewired and still doesn't work. It pops on and off when it wants to but still the low beam headlight does not work.

35 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2014 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 10/31/2017

Car has autostop. While waiting on light and when it changed car stalled like it did not want to start up. It made the noise like someone turned the key with the car still on, but this is a keyless ignition. It has died this several times and I have taken it to Buick dealer and they say nothing wrong with it, it has did it twice more since they checked it. Last time I was at a food drive thru and it stalled made noise then started back up. Vehicle was stationary. It seems like the autostop gets stuck and their is a delay starting back up. That is dangerous when turning at a light. Please investigate . Thank you.
