36 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 08/27/2017

As im traveling to my mothers house on August 27 2017 my engine just completely shuts down and wouldn't start back up. The same week it was having problems starting or wouldn't turn over to start. My daughter drove my car to o'realiys auto part store to get something for her car, get in to leave and it wouldn't start. A mechanic from the store hooked it to the diagnostic machine and it read a delay in the start up. He start moving a couple of wires on the starter to see if that would help and it did. He told my daughter don't cut it off until you get home because he may do it again and suggested I put a new starter on it. I took his advice and bought one and had it installed the same day. When done it started with no problems and the next day while driving is when the engine shuts down while driving. I looked on the internet for problems with a 2010 Buick lacross and I was shocked that people were having the same issues with their Buicks. This is very dangerous and is a serous matter. Someone or a whole family could be killed because their Buick has an manufacturing problem and Buick is doing nothing about it. I am aboustley scared to drive this car with my family after reading many people problems like mine. Please help!.

Failure Date: 02/04/2017

The car started stalling and it smell like something was burning. The car would shut off and restart on its own. I replaced the engine out of my pockets and now I am having the exact same problems. First before replacing the engine the serpentine belt broke and I had the repaired, about six month later a bolt broke inside the engine and that is when I replaced the engine. 43 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

Since I've owned the car it's been very hard to drive on the hwy once I hit a certain speed it loses control very easy also the engine control module keeps failing loss of battery all the time I smell a burning plastic smell coming from the back of the car every so often and the front seat locks up all the time also seems to have a failure to it as well and the 2012 Buick Lacrosse I own says there no recall when I run the VIN but has the same symptoms as the 2012 Buick Lacrosse that is on recall.

44 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2006 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 05/01/2016

The contact owns a 2006 Buick Lacrosse. While driving 30 mph, the front driver side wheel began to make an abnormal noise. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the lug nuts and the control arm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. In addition, while at a stop and attempting to make a left turn, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The abs and electronic stability control warning indicators illuminated. The contact sustained back, right arm, and right leg injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an auto body repair center for body repairs, but was not diagnosed or repaired for the failure. After the vehicle was repaired for the crash, the gear shifter was shifted into the drive position and the vehicle began to roll backwards. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was aware of NHTSA campaign numbers: 06v417000 (air bags) and 14v355000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 100,000. The VIN was unavailable.

46 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/01/2016

Service stabilitrak warning comes on as soon as wheels are turned after starting vehicle. This happens both when car is stationary or in motion. This started out happening very occasionally, but now happens every time vehicle is driven. I can drive several blocks straight on without the warning, but as soon as the wheels are turned, the warning message comes on, abs and traction control are automatically turned off. I purchased the vehicle used at 70k miles, this started about 2 mos after purchase. I have been told by dealerships this is a defect in the wiring harness to the front wheels in this vehicle, that it's a "known issue", and is about $500 per wheel to fix. If this is a known issue, then why hasn't Buick issued a recall? I have read many forums online where people are complaining about this issue. Not sure why they aren't reporting it to NHTSA!!! this could cause alot of accidents if the abs and traction control are turned off! attached photo was taken with vehicle sitting still in driveway, just started, no messages, turned steering wheel and the warning lights then lit up on dashboard, traction control and abs turned off (as indicated by lights).

47 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 03/18/2016

Three days ago, while on a trip from the west coast of florida to the east coast of florida; and while driving on the highway at 65 mph, the warning bells started dinging and the messages: service stabilitrak, abs, and park assist off kept flashing off and on; the car began jerking and losing engine power; the tachometer, speedometer, and temperature gauges were jumping around all over the place; and the check engine light came on. (a video of what occurred was taken to show as proof). I managed to pull off the side of the road, turned the car off and sat for several minutes, then started the car again. Less than a minute after I got back on the highway, the same events occurred again. After at least 30 minutes or more of the car continuing to malfunction while driving; it suddenly stopped giving me warning signals and engine power seemed to stabilize; however, the check engine light remained on. Once I reached my destination, I didn't use the car for two days. My return trip home, which was approximately 140 miles, was uneventful; however, the very next morning on my way to work, while sitting in traffic on the expressway, the warning bells suddenly started ringing again, and the service stabilitrak and abs lights came on. Fortunately I was able to make it to work and called the Buick dealer to bring my car in to have it checked. In the past few months, this problem has occurred 3 to 4 times, but each time only lasted moments and never to the extreme that it did . I received a letter from Buick about 3 months ago that pertained to such issues and loss of engine power; and the letter stated that the car should be taken to the Buick dealer and repaired at no cost. This is an extremely dangerous problem that needs to be addressed and resolved immediately.

48 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

Takata recall purchased used in may 2015 with approx. 45k miles. Since I have purchased the car, I took it to a dealership in kokomo in to have it looked at for the park assist. What happens is when I am driving down the highway, usually with the cruise control on, going 60+ down the highway, the park assist comes on, all the lights on the dashboard flash and all the sounds go off in the car immediately disabling the car. At that point, the car disables itself and you cannot push the accelerator, making it difficult to get off the highway. You have to immediately pull off the highway and turn the car off. After waiting a few minutes, you can start the car up and the engine light will be displayed. The engine light will stay on until the next time you start the car and then goes off. Over the last year, I have had this happen approximately 20 times. The dealership in kokomo couldn't find anything wrong with it and they stated they cannot try to find something wrong with the car if it isn't happening when I bring in the car. I moved to tennessee the first of January 2016. It has happened to me since living here again so I took the car into parks auto service in columbia TN. After having my car for 2 1/2 weeks, they are unable to find out what is wrong with it. I have been very fortunate thus far to not get into a bad wreck losing my life or crashing into someone else and killing them. At some point, this will cause a major wreck and lives could possibly be lost or someone could possibly be disabled the rest of my life. At what point does this have to happen before Buick will find an answer for this? I need help on this as there are no mechanics that can resolve this issue.

Abs stablility traction lights come on and the car dies I have no power steering or breaking power and my car is still moving. 52 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 07/15/2015

Bought my 2012 Buick Lacrosse used last June. Fishtailing presented in the first month. Have brought the car back to dealership multiple times (including within 30 days of purchase) to have it diagnosed and fixed. They say nothing is wrong with it. Fishtailing occurs in all conditions and on city streets and highways. Most terrifying is at 60 mph on the highway-the sway can be very violent. . And it happens a lot. Brought car in again in the fall (5th or 6th visit for this issue). I asked specifically if esc sensor is malfunctioning because what is happening is not normal. They said computer doesn't show a problem. They told me that is the way that this car is supposed to handle. That is when I searched for a recall and found the one below-a very accurate description of what is going on with my car ("consequence") but my VIN is not in the recall. Gm is trying to decide if they will fix it but they don't have to because my car is not part of the recall. Help! NHTSA campaign # 11v404000. "summary: gm is recalling certain model year 2012 Buick Lacrosse passenger vehicles manufactured from June 9, 2011, through July 2, 2011, for failing to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 126, "electronic stability control systems (esc). " the stabilitrak system has an incorrect calibration that may cause the system to not properly detect if a sensor were to malfunction, and the warning light indicating that the system is not operating would not illuminate, as required in the safety standard. Consequence: the improper diagnosing may cause the esc to falsely activate, resulting in sudden changes in vehicle handling and deceleration, particularly at higher speeds, which may cause the driver difficulty in maintaining the vehicle's desired path of travel and desired vehicle speed, and could result in a crash without warning" -------------.

53 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 06/15/2015

While driving the brake will suddenly grip tire, and the traction control light will come on. This happens on dry roads. The car was taken to winner Chevrolet who thought they fixed it, as soon as I left the dealer it did it again. After 7 days of trying to figure out the problem I was told to take it to a Buick dealer. Reliable Buick of roseville had the car for 9 days, they were consulting with Buick techs, thought they finally fixed it, brought it home yesterday and it just did it again. I've noticed a lot of people are having this problem and also there are recalls on 2012 Buick Lacrosse for this. Recall #11222. Something needs to be done before someone gets in an accident.

54 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 03/25/2015

Took my car in for regular service, my wife drove it home, the car died after 8 miles. She slowed for stop light, car suddenly died. Electrical system went crazy, car lost power, died. I backtracked to help,. I tried starting the car but didn't have any compression. I called dealer, they sent toll truck. According to them, they checked it, drove it a few times, said couldn't find anything wrong, called gm for help. The dealer's service rep said gm told them heard of similar incidents in Lacrosse. Gm recommended they apply lubricant cables connecting to ecm. Did so. Had 3 people test drive car, said operating fine. Received call from dealer stating problem corrected, car good to go. Picked up car in company mechanic friend. Rep explained what they did, checked all electrical circuits, breakers, connections, etc and everything appeared to be working fine. Told him that my wife didn't feel safe driving the car now because of incident and he said car should be fine for at least 5 years. I asked what if fix ididn't work? he said that it would probably require a new ecm. Well, car died again yesterday, April 4, about 1:30 pm while driving with my wife to our son's house. Was going about 40 miles/hr after exiting highway, car starting stalling, jerking and all of the console lights were going crazy. Check engine light went on, a service stability track warning and the key symbol appeared on center console, it died completely. Tried restarting it but it wouldn't. Waited for traffic to pass, then I rolled car backwards toward the curb to get out of traffic lanes. I waited a few minutes and then started the cart again. I went a few hundred feet, then it died again. I did this 3 more times until getting to my son's house where I was able to park it. I called the dealership about 20 minutes later, the service department had already closed.

56 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 11/15/2014

Approximately two months after purchasing a Buick Lacrosse I started to experience the vehicle shutting down when the car was parked or idle. Shortly after the check engine light came on. I then took the vehicle to the dealer and they claim they could not find anything wrong with it. I decided to get a second opinion so I took the vehicle to another certied repair shop and they suggested that I get and upper engine flush. Supposedly because this type of vehicle is known for massive amounts of carbon build up. So, I got the upper engine flush on my vehicle but the very next day the check engine light came on again. The. Machanic advised me that it would take more than one engine flush to fix the problem. So after not two but three upper engine flushes the problem of having the check engine light intermittently display is not resolved . No one can seem to find a diagnosis for my vehicle problems not even the dealer. Most recently, the dash board display light periodically goes out, and an unfamiliar noise is coming from the driver's front tire. Once again, I have taken my vehicle to a certified machanic and the issue is not detectable.

57 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 11/11/2014

I had just left the highway and was coasting around 35 mph when my check engine light came on and my parking assist light flashed and the car slowed to almost a complete stop. I was able to pull to the side and restart it. I attempted to bring it in to 2 different dealerships but I was told they were booked solid (stationed in hawaii). Apparently it was not a big enough deal for them to take a look before next week. I have read so many complaints about the same thing, why isn't a recall out yet? someone could die. What does it take to get a lawsuit going?.

58 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 11/03/2014

60 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 06/04/2014

Vehicle instrument cluster reported traction control service needed, tire pressure monitor service needed and key not detected. I pulled over immediately to look at the tires and all were good. Drove car to dealer as I assumed it would not identify the key fob and restart. Dealer confirmed warning lights at time of drop off but could not find any stored fault codes. Returned car with no corrective action. This is the second time the tpms has indicated a flat tire, usually drivers side rear. Tpms false indicators are a serious safety concern.

Ive had a Lacrosse 2008 since February of 2013 and my airbag light for the passengers goes off and on periodically as if there is no passenger sitting there. Also my airbag light comes on periodically as well as my seatbelt light comes on and I always have my seatbelt on. 67 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 05/31/2012

I was driving on a two-lane country road. To avoid a dead animal in the road (possibly woodchuck), I swerved hard left at which time the vehicle began to shake violently, so much so I thought it would roll over. The car bounces at every little bump, pulls sharply right when braking, wobbles at the slightest excuse, and is very unstable. There is a kerplunk noise at the smallest road indentation (which may be because an odd tire was put on the car). It is very hard to see vehicles passing on the right because of the large headrests, huge mirror and post between doors. Not a safe car! please avoid this car.

68 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2011 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 01/30/2012

While driving vehicle, vehicle electronics went inopt while cruising down highway at 60 mph. Speedometer, instrument cluster, turn signals, navigation and radio were all inopt.

69 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2008 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 02/20/2008

I have had my vehicle in at least twice at this time, and I am taking it again today for the dash lights dimming. At night it is next to impossible to read them. Yesterday, in addition, the cruise control will set itself automatically, without the driver touching a button. This is very dangerous, especially in white for slippery road conditions. I have been told the dash light problem is a "norm". I don't think so, either you fix the problem, or give me a new car.

70 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/22/2000

I have had my car in shop at least 10 times for the same reason and it never ends. They keep changing or doing something to the gear shifter. It keeps saying service transmission now it saying all kinds of warnings about steering exceeding speed track something plus service transmission won't shift soon etc it's ridiculous to pay this much for a car and have it in the shop this many times in 2 years it's in there again now and problem still isn't fixed.
