I am the fire marshal in ashtabula ohio. Fire occurred in the driver's seat cushion. The origin of the fire was determined to be below the seat covering in the area of the springs and foam padding. The only competent ignition sources in the area are a computer module, power seat motors and seat heater coil. The computer module was eliminated during the investigation leaving only the heater and position motors as competent ignition sources. A review of repair records indicates the owner report power seat issues to the dealer in June 2021 that went unresolved. The dealer records indicate they were unable to replicate the failure. The fire self-extinguished upon consumption of all available oxygen; however, the smoke damage has resulted in complete destruction of interior. As a certified fire investigator, I feel obligated to report a potential problem involving ignition of passenger vehicles. Stephen chase ashtabula fire department.

Driver seat has collapsed. I first noticed this when I got in to drive after my husband had driven the car and I had to adjust the rear view mirror. . . Something I had never had to do in the past and it keeps getting worse. I can no longer safely see above or around the side mirrors unless I sit on a pillow.
My vehicle is stalling and takes a long time to crank after re-fueling. I took the vehicle to a local dealership and they are suggesting that the purge valve selonoid needs to be replaced, how may other complaints have been reported? please advise if there will be any action taken regarding this. As soon as possible.
Inside we went to discuss terms. Salesman " this vehicle is a cbg/cpo, 2 warranties, it's like buying a new car!" he insisted you won't be able to find a Lacrosse touring, and with these warranties we guarantee this vehicle. One owner,no accidents. Finance manager wasn't professional! my car wasn't detailed, & had some minor chip's! salesman said, bring it back. Sunday 3/19/2017, I'm reading over my contract only to find out 1st payment due next day. Then go look over the car like salesman said to see what needs to be done. Paint chipped on door, paint badly chipped on bumper, clear coat issue's, front windshield entire top bubbling, looks like a manufacturer defect, console peeling, windshield wipers need to be replaced, mold on top of window frames. It took (4) appointments/trips to get my vehicle in for 1st service! 4th trip success. They had said vehicle for a month! when I received my car back it had more damage than when I left it! now "front driver's seat bottom is torn, repairs not finished! must order seat cover and again to complete repairs. Get my vehicle back again. They've had my car more than I @ 4th pymnt! bottom front of grill broken, sagging paint in front, sagging paint rear, over spray in door jam right passenger, replace "windshield wipers! total trips to dealership (8)! ovious the vehicle has been in a accident! whomever was driving it at the dealership hide it the dealership told me, "one owner car, no accidents! this vehicle has a new right headlight, I only recently found out it's had (19) services; in which (3) were front end alignments! body shop, said, new headlamp, broken grill, sagging paint, front and rear with over spray "not only bad repairs/painting" vehicle has been in a accident! the dealership said to me, this is a old car, what do you expect! when I purchased it new car with (3) warranties they were selling.

Driver seat moves out of position by itself,I just had the stabili trak light come on which in turn shut off my abs I had replaced the bad bearing today but was told the other 3 will need it also as this bearing is a defective produce and should have been recalled as they fall apart shutting off you abs system. This is not a cheap vehicle to purchase I also had to replace my all wheel drive pump which was very costly I believe gm should recall the wheel bearings on these vechiles before someone get hurt! I like gm but you have dropped the ball on this one!!.

The sensor for the passenger airbag associated with the front passenger seat works erratically, and generally does not enable the front passenger airbag when a passenger is in the seat. This occurs with a full size adult in the seat. This condition seems to occur regardless of idling or driving conditions. It generally reports through indicators that the front passenger airbag is turned off and the airbag readiness indicator is lit to indicate a problem.

Defroster,heat,a/c,fan speed, recirc, heat/cool seats functions failed (stopped working completly) while driving in a snow storm on January 12, 2016 on highway us 131 to traverse city, mi. Found recall information NHTSA # 11v149000. Brought to dealer. Dealer said not coverred under recal due to VIN #, and owner cost of $400 + to repair. Contacted Buick customer care. Spoke with asia and leslie on 1/15/16, who said gm could not help. I described language of the recall as being identical to the safety hazard described in the NHTSA language: "windshield defrosting and defogging systems" on these vehicles, the software in the electronic climate control module may disable the ability to adjust the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system settings. If this happens, the driver will not be able to control the cooling and ventilation for the vehicle. Consequence: if this condition affects the defrost system when it is required, it may decrease the driver's visibility and could result in a crash. ".
Complete blackout of monitor (navigation screen) including rear view camera while while driving on city streets and highways and happened once during startup of vehicle. Sometimes before blackout vertical lines appear. Estimated time of blackout has lasted more than one minute and I have had to pull over until it appears. I have had passengers in the vehicle who have witnessed this occurrence. I have taken my vehicle maybe 2 or 3 times to the Buick dealership, the last time they replaced the full monitor, as they could not find what was causing the problem. The problem is still occurring and even worse because its happening more frequently. I am going to the Buick dealership tomorrow about this and a new problem with the seats not heating up, which was never a problem until the screen blanked out one night. I'm suspicious if this is related to whatever is causing the problem with the monitor. There may be some wiring/computer/technical glitch which need to be investigated. I hope the nhsa will investigate this issue, as I consider it a safety hazard. A response back would be appreciated.
Abs stability tracking lights come on, car dies no power steering or brakes seems like a safety issue driving a car that is still moving with no steering or brakes. In the past the fuse box under the hood caught on fire and my electric seats would not shut off and burnt out.
The car's air bag light by the speedometer has been illuminating intermittently at various speeds whether there is a passenger in the passenger seat or not. The passenger seat air bag on/off light near glove compartment turns to off when the speedometer air bag light illuminates. In June, I took the car into an independent mechanic to get the problem fixed. Unfortunately, the computer doesn't store a code for this problem. The mechanic tried to improve the connection to the passenger seat and "relearned" the computer; however, the problem still occurs. Mechanic said it "might" be a $1,000 fix which involves part of the passenger seat cushion itself! it cost me $100 to find out this much and attempt a correction, but $1,000 is ridiculous; especially for a "maybe" fix. I see others are having this problem, too. I've already had the ignition switch key fix at the dealership. I also already had the problem with the headlights turning off as we were driving down the road; our independent mechanic fixed that and I'm still waiting for the gm reimbursement on that. Hoping we can get gm to fix this air bag problem before it causes injuries.

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Buick Lacrosse. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v400000 (seats) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeds a reasonable amount of time for the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experience a failure.
Passenger air bag off indicator light comes on at times when seat occupied.
Passenger sensing system appears to be too sensitive. Owners manual states that the system is designed to detect adult sized passengers. However a small purse (6lbs) is sufficient to activate the airbag light on the console and ring the chimes alerting the driver that the front passenger is not belted in. Tested with 8 y/o daughter (43lbs) with same result. Dealer has examined the system and found it to be performing as designed. Buick customer service returned my phone call and stated that based on the malfunction and the verbiage in bulletin 12-09-41-002a this malfunction is okay and no further service is required. Important to note that my 2007 yukon xl denali requires a weight of approximately 40 lbs to activate the seatbelt indicator and about 80lbs to turn on the airbag. Buick needs to be recalibrated.
The contact owns a 2006 Buick Lacrosse. While driving various speeds, the contact had to pump the brake pedal several times in order for the vehicle to stop. The abs and traction control warning indicators illuminated. Also, the instrument panel failed to remain illuminated in order for the contact to view necessary information while driving. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle received the aftermarket seat covering indicated in NHTSA campaign number: 06v417000 (air bags). The vehicle was not included in the recall for the covering to be replaced despite the manufacturer assuring them it was the same material used. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the hub needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle had not received a second repair for the abs and instrument panel. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.

Head rest is angled too far forward - there is no way to adjust the angle (only up and down height). This creates neck pain, back pain, etc. There is no way to adjust where my head is not forced into my chin if I fully rest my shoulders on the seat. I fear a severe neck injury if ever in a crash in this vehicle.
Air bag registered as off when a person was seated in the front passenger seat. Sensor was replaced and after 18 months the same problem is recurring. The air bag will be on then switch off and on all while a person is sitting in the seat and not doing anything other than sitting. Current mileage for 2nd recurrence is 46,150. Also the low beam headlights are going off for no apparent reason at night while driving down the road. High beams must be used when this occurs. The passenger door lock will not open or lock when the remote is used or the door lock button on the door. The hood will also not stay up as the hydraulic lifters do not hold.
Returning from a mi trip on PA rt 80, noticed passenger air bag warning light was off. Since that time, the air bag light has been intermittently effective (see diagnostic check on dealer billing). Recently, deputy administrator donald friedman has testified a defect was the result of inaccurate suppression read by the air bag module which activates the seat bag. We have been traveling since, unsure the passenger was covered by an active bag. Please advise of any information available to assist in identifying this problem. Thank you. (dealer billing is sent under separate cover).

The contact owns a 2008 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that the pts warning indicator illuminated and the seats overheated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was confirmed that the seat sensor and the pts module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact mentioned that the pts module was replaced on two other occasions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Memory seat recall does not operate as described.
The contact owns a 2010 Buick Lacrosse. The contact was driving 40 mph with the heated seats activated when the seat overheated and burned the contact. The contact sought medical attention for the burns and the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 3,500 and the current mileage was 5,000.
: the contact stated while adjusting the driver seat, it will not adjust enough for a smaller person. The vehicle was driven to the dealer who determined the seats performed as designed. Updated 12/5/2006 -.
Consumer complaint regarding driver and passenger side seats. When the consumer drove the Buick Lacrosse the bench seats hurt his back.
