The contact owns a 2012 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the stability track and anti-theft warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was restarted after 15 seconds as per the owners manual instructions and would reprogram itself. The vehicle was taken to heritage auto group (965 veterans memorial hwy ne, rome, GA 30161) three times for repairs and the keys were reprogrammed, the loosened throttle body was tightened, and the water pump was replaced however, the failure recurred. The dealer informed the contact to take the vehicle to another Buick dealer for service. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,399.

2 Water Pump problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 06/09/2015

My car currently is parked in my garage and there is a fan blowing. It has been blowing the past hour. I read on the internet that other cars are having a similar issues. They state the cause is the water pump. I plan on taking my car to the shop tomorrow for a evaluation. I hope that I don't wake up tomorrow and the engine fan is still running.

3 Water Pump problem of the 2005 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 11/26/2014

S10- direct reply- letter to the secretary from constituent regarding assistance with a safety recall of a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. The consumer stated the air bag light would come on and then go off. The dealer stated it would cost $150 to replace the air bag module for the driver and passenger side. Also, the vehicle stalled slightly when driving up a short hill. There was a noise coming from the front of the vehicle. The dealer concluded the fender was rubbing on the tire when turning left and they simply re-positioned the right front fender. On one occasion, when the consumer started the vehicle, he heard a strange noise and the steering wheel would not turn. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. It was determined, the power steering pump, transmission, water pump and engine were all leaking fluids. Also, the wheel bearing needed to be replaced.

4 Water Pump problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 11/07/2014

The contact owns a 2010 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start on the first attempt. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the alternator and the water pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that the thermostat failed causing the vehicle to emit smoke. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the thermostat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,076.

5 Water Pump problem of the 2011 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 01/27/2013

2011 Buick Lacrosse. Consumer writes in regards to engine malfunction. The consumer stated she was driving down the road, when the vehicle shut down, the dashboard read, engine is losing pressure. The vehicles speed dropped to 10 mph and began shaking out of control. The consumer stated the incident happened a total of 4 times between January and February. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the dealer stated the water pump and balance shaft chain needed to be replaced. On February 2, 2013, the dealer only found a half quart of oil in the vehicle. The consumer took the vehicle to where it was purchased from and the only thing they found was moisture in certain areas. The most recent incident happened on January 6, 2014, where the check engine light illuminated. Updated 03/13/14.

6 Water Pump problem of the 2005 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 12/10/2006

The contact owns a 2005 Buick Lacrosse which was purchased on 10-14-2006. The headlights would work intermittently. The dealer made necessary repairs to the headlights by adding an unknown sensor, however a short occurred and the headlights have failed completely. The horn was also inoperable. She also stated that the water pump failed and was replaced by the dealer. All of the repairs were covered under her extended warranty plan. To date, no repairs have been made to the headlights to correct the failure. The failure mileage was 26,000 and the current was 78,000.
