Equipment Problems of Buick Lesabre - part 1

The transmission doesn't shift correctly even after it's warmed up it is erratic and rough while connecting the transmission gears and jerks very hard at most times. The power steering is not working correctly and makes it difficult to drive at all with the combined issues I'm very concerned about my and my family safely.

Car has hard shift's that get worse when the car is up to temperature. Fuel gauge show's false reading. Two window regulators failed.

Turned the key in ignition just past click and heard a loud bang in engine under hood. I looked under the car and seen flames. Within 18 minutes the whole car was in totally on fire. The volunteer fire department came and put it out. We did a search on the internet and discovered we are not the only ones to experience this.

The transmission rarely slips causing a dangerous situation. I must pull over shit off the vehicle and start it again.

When first starting up car and then press on the gas pedal, either in reverse or forward, there is a surge, like the cable is sticking. Not sure why, maybe due from age of car or an electronic control issue. The car has been garaged about 85% of its life.

The dash pad is curling up from the windshield on the driver's side. There is a gap of several inches. Many people are experiencing this in my research. Will need to replace dash pad.

The airbag light stays on and the dash is separating from the firewall of the motor. There is a gap between the windshield and the dash.

As I was driving from the gas station I took a left and as I accelerated, the engine started to vibrate. I I had never noticed this before that day. So proceed to take my time carefully back to work. I examined the undercarriage of my 99 Lesabre custom and that's where I noticed that the drivers side subframe bushings have all but fell out due to severe rust. Thankfully the passenger side is still firmly attached. Upon further research, this is a common problem with gm cars of this era and the dorman replacement parts are readily available. Had this component failed on both sides the engine and transmission would have fallen out and caused an accident or worse. I am still trying to figure out if this is a recall issue or just a bad choice of vehicle design by gm and their lack of concern for the publics well being. These subframe bushings should have been or should be a viable recall concern today. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

First electrical. . . My wipers stopped working during bad rain right after coming out the tunnel in heavy traffic no accident I knew road enough to pull over. . Got fixed replaced wiper motor 3 times and the wiper switch wipers still go without being turned on. . . Then my dash keeps getting dim and my abs,traction ,and brake lightsare on and I've had that fixed still keeps staying lit. . . . I get regular oil changes at walmart every 3000 miles theres fluid leaking from valve cover that I had replaced . . . Things I replaced on car should have never been inspected. . My dash was lifted when I purchased vehicle used also said it was fine mva made them reinspect car n its still lifted I also know it wont pass inspection lifted.

Cpsc: progressive passport device plugged in odbc reader for 2000 Buick Lesabre. Power cut off from car and battery light went on while driving at about 25 mph.

I had traveled about 2 miles from home to a home depot and was driving at about 20 mph as I was about to turn into one of the parking lanes. Suddenly the car went into full speed as if I was full on the gas pedal. I nearly hit other cars trying to get control of my car. I tried shutting the engine off and then back on, but that did no good. My car only has about 70,000 actual miles on it as I am retired. Car is currently in a garage waiting for repairs. 07242013.

Rear window falls down. Known problem in bucks. Very costly temporary fix as window will not stay up for long and will fall down again. My daughter had to drive the car home from school in 10 degree weather after the window fell down. Buick and government protection agency should be ashamed.

The dash-pad has separated. . . And curled! the entire top dash-pad has lifted 2 inches, directly in front of the driver's steering wheel. . . . . This is causing a severe safety hazard! visibility has been blocked! I am afraid for my safety! please investigate!.

Car parked in home driveway unoccupied, sitting still, running to warm up in very cold ambient air temperature (5 degrees f. Side air bags on passenger and driver side simultaneously deployed damaging the seats and interior trim.

My car seems to just die while you are driving it them you have to pull over and wait a few mins before it will start again and no body seems to know what the problem could be to you.

My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson stopped at my mother's house for just a few min. Then they were going to drive on to my house. We all live within 5 miles of each other. They were all inside my mom's house when they heard and explosion. After looking outside, they seen the car on fire. They are lucky to be here. Its a miracle. Your company should have to compensate them for malfunctioning parts.

Shuts down while in drive.

Trip check showed: fuel leak under engine cover, front wheel drive shaft oil leaking fluid, power steering leaking fluid. Air bag light came on after the horn was hit hard, after about 20 minutes it went of, technician couldn't find anything wrong with it.

The gas hand said it was full, when I drove off the parking lot. . I didn't get off the road, when the car ran out of gas. Cars blowing horns.

Top of dash (pad) is raising up off top of dash?.

Several times beginning in approximately March 2015, my car began to stall while at signal. One time the car quit while driving. The ignition does not work properly, sometimes it will turn the car over to start, other times it will not. I did not know about the recall. I purchased my Buick at a lien sale. I am worried the car may have the problem indicated in the recall. I had two mechanics check the battery (replaced) alternator (tested good) and they checked fuel injection and air intake. The problem continues to happen. I would sincerely appreciate it if a general motors dealer could please check my car.

My car will start then stalls imeaditly.

Driver, age 82, on way to dr. Office in elmore, OH when the back of driver's seat. The back of driver's seat started smoking and burned a hole through the leather and a hole in the driver's coat that she was wearing. It was a very cold day, with wind chill below zero. The heated seat had been on for approximately 1 (one) mile.

The upper dashboard has separated from the car as it is raised from the left corner to the middle of the dashboard, at the front of the dashboard closest to the windshield. In some places it is over 6 inches raised. It continues to worsen, moving over to the right side of the dash closer to the passenger airbag. I am concerned that this might cause the passenger airbag to go off by mistake. It has also reached the height where driver frontal vision is beginning to be slightly impaired because of this defect. I am aware that this is an inherent problem with these dashboards in this model vehicle. I have contacted gm and they have offered no assistance. This vehicle has been garaged and not out in the sun more than usual.

The dash panel pad is buckling and pulling loose. I am concerned the passenger airbag will deploy.

Dashboard material appears to be faulty, and dashboard is now raised in the air on drivers side (near windshield), partially obstructing view. If the complete dashboard comes loose and separates, this may fully block view resulting in possible accident. Internet search reveals this is a chronic problem on these vehicles.

The dash cover has started to buckle in front of the steering wheel toward the passenger side of the vehicle.

All power windows have failed.

Well ive already put in one complaint so heres another. . Now I hve to replace another valve cover gasket,,this will b the second one within a yr. . Its dripping all my oil out&actually caught fire. Im scared of the car now. . I was already scared because of the dashboard is falling in or coming apart. . . Yall might not deel its serious,, but I do last time yall wanted me to pay for Buick to look at my car&I feel that is wrong. . I seriously need someone to get in contact with me about this matter. . .

The approximate incident date . Would not let me put date in . Date was july23'2014. My car has been stalling out on me when I was driving down the highway it stalled put in nutral started right up drove alittle ways samething happend. Checkenginelight came on got stuck on highway for 3 hours waiting for towtruck bad experiance. It is at sullivan tire check dionostics and said everything is all right I told him to take it for a spin he did and stalled out on him. Sullivantire is boggled. I was on line and and was checking what the problem could be and there is about 10 people that own the same car has same problem we tried getting it fixed its starting to cost some money trying to fix it. Ijust bought the car Jan. 2013. And stll owe money on it for 1 more year please help us thank you.

2003 Buick Lesabre dash pad dash pad is buckling from the front, at the windshield edge of the pad.

Used Buick Lesabre custom 2003 cuts off while driving. The volt light appears and then the car shuts off. This is frightening and truly dangerous. The car will start back up usually after the first attempt, but sometimes it takes about two attempts. The car was taken to an auto repair shop where the car computer was replaced because the mechanics believed that to be the problem. However, after that was done, the car shut off again, several times, the very same day. The car was taken back to the auto repair shop and multiple tests were run and we were told about a number of problems ranging from the computer to the sensor. After all the tests were ran and parts replaced (computer and sensor), the car drove fine for two afternoons and then shut off again while at a traffic light. Fortunately, there was very little traffic and the light was red. The car turns back on but the fact that it shuts off at random and the mechanics cannot tell us the reason is unsettling. We have no solutions so far because the exact cause cannot be pinpointed. We do not feel safe driving this car. This issue has been recurring ever since June 27, 2014 and has become increasingly problematic.
