My front dashboard has been gradually coming unattached near the windshield. It has gotten so bad that it is hindering my view of the road. It is also a problem for the airbag system. . This is truly a safety hazard and I cannot believe Buick has refused to acknowledge this defect which is affecting so many of their customers. I own two Buick Lesabres and it happened to both of them.

Dash is separating causing it to pull apart at passenger airbag and glove compartment. Worried air bag will deploy and harm someone or not work at all. Can't open glove compartment anymore.

Window motor has gone out numerous times on front 2 windows and has had to be replaced. Last time drivers side was repaired was 4-17-2014. That was 3rd repair . Has since broken again but I did not repair it again. Back driver side window fell open while on interstate 2 years ago. My car is garage kept with around 60,000 miles. These issues started within 3 or 4 years after I purchased it new. The repair shop where I take my car says they have seen many Lesabres with the same problem. Gm doesn't seem to feel there is a problem. I know this because I have written and called them several times about my concerns. Just wish they would have to be held accountable for their poor engineering.

Approx. April 1, 2014 noticed that the dashboard was "lifting" away from the base. Since then it has gotten progressively worse, lifting from left hand side towards center of vehicle. Buick tells me it is not covered and there have been no recalls on it, yet I've seen 100's of complaints about same thing on the internet. Worried about safety of airbag(s) deploying and if it keeps lifting the way it has so far, visibility will become a factor. Vehicle was purchased new in August 2003.

2003 Buick le sabre. Dashboard is pulling away from the firewall. Electronic parts are exposed. As a result, airbag and other safety sensors and wiring is exposed. There have been reports of airbag deployment. The dash is pulling away toward the passenger side where the airbag is housed. There are many reports of issues on the internet. The dash has pulled away over 2" in the center. It is distracting while driving and if the air bag deploys, it will create an accident. At this point, I would be happy with a fix, it does not have to be a replacement.

I have a complaint to enter. The dash board cover has separated almost all the way across on my 2003 Buick lasabre beginnnig at approximately 40,000 miles. I am being told it is dangerous because it might open the air bag on passenger side and inflict possible death or injury to passenger. It is also beginning to raise up at separation enough to hamper viewing when driving. This car has also had all four window regulators replaced and one in back twice for a total of 5 window regulators replacements. I have had to have alinements on front end more times than I ever had on any other vehicle I ever owned. The only thing that is good about the vehicle is the engine, I have had no complaint with it so far. Almost everyone I have talked to that owns a Buick 2003 has had this same problem with the dash board. I hold gm liable if anything should happen because of the faulty dash board that might cause injury or death to my passenger. There are probably thousands of these vehicles with faulty dash boards. I never had to replace a single window regulator in any car I ever owned before. A class lawsuit might be the answer to all these problems. Can you help us ?.

1. Dashboard separating from windshield and causing 3" gap causing partial obstruction. Now is separating more at drivers' side near steering wheel, and about 75% pulled away at this time. Critical safety problem because air bags may be deployed and injury or death could occur. Cannot fix easily and consider it is a critical defect and inferior workmanship. Not able to safely drive the car or able to sell it! 2. Electric windows in back passenger and driver side had to be replaced. $$ 3. Light switch control malfunctions and recently stuck in the "on" position. Had to disconnect battery to turn off. This just happened last night and was inconvenienced greatly !! 4. Headliner falling down and was repaired twice. Now is falling down where it was not repaired!.

Dashboard on 2003 Lesabre limited is separating near the window obstructing drivers view. Car only has 25,000 I am a senior citizen and will hold gm responsible for any accident caused by this obstruction. Please advise me how to proceed.

The padded dash cover started pulling away from the dash behind the steering wheel. The gap is increasing in size as it moves toward the passenger side.

Gas pedal sticks when going forward after using reverse.

The dashboard has separated more than half way across, and has raised over one inch in some areas. I am very concerned that this will affect the airbags,either rendering them ineffective or allowing them to deploy while I am driving without warning.

Parked car, turned off engine and locked car. Smoke started coming from under the hood, then a small explosion and a raging fire. Car was totaled in 5-8 minutes. Fire engines called and put out fire.

At a little over 40,000 miles, I notice a hump in the dash cover in front of the steering wheel. The separation and lifting has now stretched to near center dash. If it continues, I'm afraid it may possibly effect air bag operation or passenger safety.

I noticed the dashboard was coming apart from the windshield towards the driverside. . I also started experiencing my car cutting off,,&a weird noise when I press my brakes. . My car also gets hot&smells like somethings burning. . Ive replaced numerous things,,but yet to come to a resolution. . I really need help because this is scarry. . Ive talked to Buick&you all wanna charge me just ti look at my car??thats not help at all. . .

February was the first time I noticed that the top of the dash was bulging upward and separating from the main dash (only easily seen from outside the vehicle). The separation is propagating past the half way point and I fear it could interfere with the passenger side air bag, or in the case of air bag deployment the whole upper dash could be projected into the occupants of the vehicle causing injury or death. This is a recurring problem with Buick Lesabre cars from 2000 thru 2005. Same design, never changed. I have filed a complaint with gm to no avail. The dealer told them the dash pad was peeling, witch is untrue. The entire upper section, about a quarter of an inch thick, is deforming and separating from the dash. I have photos if you are interested. My gm report number 71-1171831509.

When the Lesabre was reliable; it was reliable. However, when issues started to occur, they were massive. At approx 90k miles the transmission went with no warming and was instantly. After that the car still had issues with the drive, transmission and gears. The fuel pump and intake manifolds have been replaced. As of 2014 I continue to have issues with this vehicle. It currently runs very hard and when idle and in traffic (very scary) will randomly cut off with zero warning or even begin to smoke. There is the correct amount of oil and antifreeze. The car will randomly smoke as well. I have been to the mechanic several times trying to figure out the main issue so that it can be repaired. This is extremely frustrating. Anyone have any solutions? I keep reading plenty of owners with the same issue(s) so I find it hard to believe that gm/Buick has not done a recall on parts for the engine, transmission, etc.

The dash pad is peeling and warping and I found a site that told me to report it here as a lot of people are having the same issue with several years of the Lesabre.

Has a1997 Buicklasables\ and having problems with ignition and I can be driving and it just like it don,t get no juice from engine then when tried to start up it don,t catch in ignition switch. I have spend over 2,000 in this car but every one I take it to says it in the ignition it sounds like it wants to start sometimes it takes up to 6 hours before it starts.

The interior front dashboard has curled up starting from the front windshield extending across to the glove compartment. Upon researching this I have found that most 2001 Buick Lesabres have had the same problem. General motors has not rectified this problem with any recall or recourse. From my understanding this effects the airbags and cause them to deploy unexpectedly. Does someone have to be seriously injured or god forbid killed because of an exploding airbag until general motors acts on their responsibility to correct this unforeseen defect. Please help us owners and have general motors recall the 2001 Buick Lesabre. . Thank you.

Dashboard top is separating and buckling in area between steering wheel and windshield. It started slowly when I first purchased the car and has progressively gotten worse with time. While researching the problem, I found this to be a common issue. I'm worried that as the dashboard separation gets worse, it will affect the passenger air bag and/or vehicle electronics in the dashboard area leading to an accident.

Top of dash board (mat,pad) is bowing up into the field of driving vision and is separating from the front part of the dashboard. The separation is creeping in the direction of the passenger airbag and there is concern that both air bags may deploy. Gm refuses to recognize this issue as a defective dash problem and will do nothing to help repair/replace the part. To get a good feel for the prevalence os this issue, go to cargurus. Why won't they admit to the problemand get them fixed??.

In may of 2012 the dashboard covering began to start buckling up in an area from the center of the driver side to the center of the windshield. This has gotten noticeably worse as time has gone on. The obvious cause of the problem is that there is a manufacture defect in the way this covering was constructed and attached to the dash. The continual raising of the dash cover poses a reduced visibility issue with the driver when operating the vehicle. Research I have done indicates this is not a problem unique to my personal vehicle but rather a well documented defect affecting many vehicles such as mine. There has also been concerns raised that this issue could cause the premature activation of the passenger side air bags. Because of the safety concerns with this defect and because so many vehicles have experienced the same issue, this is a problem that I believe needs to be addressed with the manufacturer.

I have a 2003 Buick Lesabre. Two months ago my drivers side window stopped working and would not go back up. I had to have the complete window controll replaced. I looked on the internet and found that many many people have reported having the same problem. Yesterday my front passenger. Side window did the same thing. It also won't go up either, so obviously now I'm going to have to do the same thing with it.

While leaving an intersection I was traveling down a slight hill , I heard a strange sound and realized I had no steering the wheel was turning ,but with no control of the car . The car hit a telephone pole that was installed to hold up 4 mailboxes . The engine carriage of the car that is bolted to the frame separated from the frame past the bolts causing the steering connection to come apart , the car is totaled . Thank you gm/ Buick engineers .

Dash has started to buckle up in front of driver side of the vehicle. This is a safety issue as it impacts the visibility of the driver and might impair (or cause) the improper deployment of the airbag.

I own a 1997 Buick le sabre custom (3. 8) the car will shutdown when I am driving it. Also it drains the battery. The date is the year that I purchased the car.

The dashboard on the vehicle has come loose from the grill under the window and is rising up. It has released almost all the way across the windshield and makes it difficult to see out the windshield. Also it has exposed the passenger side airbag.

I left my window open for about five minutes during a rain storm and the left side buttons on my steering wheel controlling music only works pressing the bottom of the switches. The top of the switches have no result: therfore I lost my scanning the stations as well as seek downwards. Now 2 months later without any water contact I am now losing my am/fm mode button unless I press like I want to kill it. The window switches for the left rear have now died and I am being told I need to pay for a reset of that left rear door module and then the switch should work ok. What is gm thinking of, making their switches less waterproof than 50 years ago, and why should I have to pay if it is a computer reset. Thanks for no help!, gm.

Dashboard piece buckling up from the driver's side to the passenger's side on my 200 Buick le sabre custom.

In 2009 the dashboard began to lift up under the windshield. By 2011 the dashboard had lifted up almost completely across the dash across the windshield, by about 2 inches. I had my mechanic attempt to secure it back down on several occasions.

We have had all 4 of our window regulators replaced on our 2001 Buick Lesabre within a month of each other. The windows fall down unexpectedly. It has cost us $200 each to have them replaced. I personally will never own another Buick if this is the way gm handles things. Also, the dashboard skin has peeled away on the driver's side and slowly proceeding to the passenger side.

Dashboard separated. I mentioned to dealer when I purchased in 2009. They pushed together but it came undone. I have a cover over dash so as not to see separation. My concern is my airbags. Will this cause a danger to annearly deployment. Was not concerned prior to recall of airbags.
